Answer: I'm right there with you - I've had some idea's stolen from me by big business. One thing to watch for is if you sign a NDA with a company, make sure it doesn't terminate for a period that your comfortable with - they started production 6 months after my NDA terminated. NDA was for 1 year. One firm Lambert & Lambert is a good company from expieriance.

Question: my graphic designer is claiming that...is this possible? Apparently, the graphic designer sent some high resolution pdfs to the printer. These images were printed, and cam out very blurry and pixelated. The printer did not save the files the designer sent over, as this was several weeks ago. The graphic designer said that the pdfs may have been switched to a low resolution when he sent emailed them from a mac to a pc unzipped. Since I can't see the actual file that the printer received, I don't know where the screw up occurred...it could be one of the following: A) the designer messed up when exporting from indesign to a pdf and didn't make it the correct resolution and is telling me a bit of baloney about the pc messing up the file B)the printer messed up the file somehow after receiving it. Which is most likely scenario?

Answer: A is the most likely. I've never heard of a printer screwing up the res. However... if it was a good printer they would have notified you about the res issue before going to print.

I am considering leaving my current job and starting up with my brother, we are both highly skilled steel fabricators and designers. He specialises in the manufacturung side and I the design side, in particular 3D CAD CAM. We have work to keep us busy for a few months from one customer, but Im just curious if there is enough business out there. Anyone got any experience in this field?

Answer: I think you and your brother have a great future ahead of you. Small steel fabricating is a much in demand, due to the loss of the larger companies. You and your brother seem to have split the design/manufacturing duties perfectly. However, starting up in business is a worrying time for the both of you. You need to get some good advice from your local Business Link office or perhaps you have a local college that specialises in business courses that would be happy to point you in the right direction. Point one - find yourselves a good local bank manager - introduce yourselves and tell them exactly what your plans are. They will talk to you for free. Point two - find yourselves a good local solicitor - introduce yourselves and tell him exactly what your plans are. Most of them will give you the first 15 - 30 minutes for free. During those two 30 minute conversations you will find out so much good information to take your business forward, you will not believe it. I wish you the best of luck in your venture. Answer: This proves nothing. It has been discovered due to new levels of research mostly because of advances in technology. Many species of birds are problem solvers - this is how they were designed. They have been like this all the time - it is just now we have ways to "spy" on them and gather more information.

Question: Should I even bother trying to get money from these people? A place that I interviewed at called me in, sounding very interested, for a second interview. They told me they would pay me if I cam in and worked with them for several hours. I agreed, and came in and build graphic piece for them to show my capabilities (I am a graphic designer). They seemed pleased with what I made, thanked me and told me they would be in touch with me within a week. I emailed them 7 days later since I hadn't heard back... no response. Now it has been almost a month! If they don't want hire me, fine.... whatever... but what kind of crap is it that they tell me the are going to pay me - and then don't. Answer: You've been scammed.....they can't pay you as an employee until you are hired and put into their payroll system so they can deduct the appropriate taxes, etc. They could pay you as a contractor through Accounts Payable, but without a written contract stating what they will pay and what the scope of work is, you will have a hard time getting $$ out of them in court (unless you have witnesses who can attest to the "verbal contract" between you and the company - unlikely since any potential witnesses are probably company employees.) In future, don't agree to do work for a company without some sort of written document that describes the terms and conditions under which you'll earn those $$.

Answer: If you want to the path of sports, if you do not already live in Chicago, move there (If your parents love you, then they will do it). 5 major sports franchises (Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears, Cubs, and White Sox) that matter to the city, with a need for knowledgeable hockey journalists (we lost a lot of hockey IQ in the last decade). Chicago is VERY into sports and when an NBC executive was discussing TV ratings with regard to the Stanley Cup Finals he said "Chicago is the top sports market in the world possibly and it outdraws all other US markets when one of its teams is involved with a major sporting event." (paraphrased) In Chicago as a sports journalist your job would be quite secure, because we take sports very seriously here.

Answer: ahh your never to young to think about your career this is good a lot of ppl grow up and their career goals go down the drain dont let that happen to you it happened to me and now im bored lol remember your career goals will change occasionaly because once you get into a program you might find hey this aint for me like i thought it would be lets try sumthing else...thats normal make sure its a career that will be available in the future u can research this online but dont put too much reliance on what others say (people will always need doctors(sports injury physician per chance)food, clothing, shelter....the basics and then think of the wants, which are a bit more of a risk but could be a secondary study...say a sports announcer or hair designer make sure you will love working hard for your career otherwise you wont get far... maybe you could combine your love of sports and fashion into sports fashion? designer to the athletes, practicality etc...you could develop sweat friendly fabrics, design clothes for aerodynamics, anything you want, clothing for the elements i would take an art class if you like art, maybe to learn to let your imagination run wild, you will need this to help you design maybe an extra curricular activity? help the homeless get clothes...then you will see how practicality is important just as much as design you can go see your local college and their will be a career counceler that will help you put together a possible course list for you, related to your faves, even a high school councelor will help sum even get you phone numbers for the college, and tell them you are just wanting to get a head start and would like to consider some of the possibilities because you are having trouble deciding...or tell them you dont want to have difficulty in the future so youd like to prepare now...for example taking that art class in highschool thats an elective usually maybe you will need to be a go getter in sports and take a class about the human body? and that can help just let them know you have high goals and want to be prepared a career councelor would be perfect for you and if they say your too young tell them your completely serious dont let the hush you away goodluck! i hope you have a long happy career its so nice to see you want to be prepared! :) psst some highschools have career centers use them! the library can help too! be safe

I've learned the basics and stuff using a really OLD(20+years old) slr camera before (films and fully manual) for college few years back, at that time i didn't appreciate it much, but now i am fond of p/graphy since after getting a digital camera... And i think i'm going to get one DSLR soon..because it wont waste the shots like the filmed SLRs do.. So bascially.. im looking for a manual and basic DSLR cam... WITHOUT "special" functions EG=night scene shots, portrait shots... etc So i've a feww questions here....bare with me =") Im in a budget of $400 USD (1500 RM) , is that the normal price range for a DSLR camera? Answer: Go for a digital Canon rebel - it's almost a pro camera...it only lacks a few bells & whistles that the pros don't even use. You can still use lenses from canon film SLR's (so buy used lenses if you purchase body only of a digital camera). Life span is similar to film SLRs; although not as durable as say an AE-1 or Pentax K1000 from the 1970's. Don't go for the extended warranty unless you can get it for 1/2 price - it's not worth it. You can definitly get into a Rebel & a nice lens for $400 or less. Your best bet is to go to your local camera shop & test out the cameras - choose whichever feels best in your hand. Nikon is great, but I find the shutter button to be a little too sensitive compared to Canon.

Answer: Well I'm colombian, and I know for a fact that colombian women just die for american or european men. A friend of mine is about to marry a swiss guy, and she says he's very polite, well mannered, and also very funny. Question: Windows 7? vs Xp, vs XP 64 bit? Hey, just wondering, performance-wise, if windows 7 has any point? Or did they waste too many resources on GUI stuff that does nothing? (And what were the problems with XP 64 and Vista again? they ever fix those?) Kinda turning into a graphics designer by accident here, so I'm gonna need to upgrade soon. (Examples: 3Ds max, CS4 suites (Movies) and compiling CAM files)

Answer: Get Windows 7 64-bit. But you need to have 64-bit processor. And looking at the programs you are willing to use, you need some high end computer that will have for example, Intel core i7 920 or 940 or 950, or even Core i7 Extreme Editions 965 or 970 but these two are very expensive. And you can get an Intel motherboard in the Extreme series, then add some High-End Video Card. This will cost much, I know, but will make your computer super fast. And when it comes to 3Ds Max and rendering, any increase in performance would be very appreciated. 64-bit Windows, whether XP, Vista or 7 will increase the PC Performance much and will allow you to install 64-bit version of programs like 3Ds Max 2009 64-bit. Of course, these are RAM hungry programs, it would be cool to put a 3x 4GB (12GB total) DDR3 RAM on your Intel motherboard working in triple-channel mode :) Prepare yourself to pay few thousands of dollars :) You might not need all this, it really depends on what you are willing to do with your computer.

Question: How can I take good pics of my products in a tiny studio with crappy lighting? I'm trying to run a small biz from my home, and so far things are going okay. I do really well at craft shows & have gotten fantastic reviews for my products. (hand-made "designer" fingerless gloves). I have an etsy page but have trouble posting new products because my pics are so bad. I live in a small studio with low daylight (even at noon in summer) and really yellowy overhead lights. I've tried 3 different digital cams but they all came out worse than my own cell phone cam. I remember my old film cams used to be able to take good photos in this light. I need the instant photos provided by a digital cam & am tired of trying to arrange meetings with photogs. I also don't feel comfortable taking all my stuff outside to a public place. Answer: There are way too many graphic editing applications that are capable of creating images used by fashion designers. Some are very powerful and cost a lot, such as those capable of 3-D images and real-time movement. Then there are those that work with only 2-D imaging, and are much cheaper. If someone understands a particular graphic application very well, then it can be used for such purposes. .

Question: I need to sell a high-end, custom designed ring? Hi there, I am a jewelry designer and make custom fine jewelery for my clients using the CAD-CAM technology. The thing is, usually I design for my clients around a specific stone they may have, or I re-design a older piece of jewelery they already own. The majority of the work I do costs my clients between $1500-$4000. So, I have this gorgeous pink sapphire I need to sell, and would like to sell it in a custom mounting. I only have a computerized render of it. I am going to sell it for $7550, but it would retail for $11,750. My question is, how can I market and sell this ring, since it is not set in the ring yet and since it more expensive than most of the jewelry I usually sell? Any great ideas? This is not mass produced jewelry like the stuff you probably sell on e-bay. This is a one of a kind, high quality item. Question: Real Prada sunglasses??? Or fake? Yesterday, my brother found some designer Prada sunglasses on the side of the road! I looked around the internet and found some almost exactly like the ones he found for a value of 235$ I know that sometimes designer sunglasses can be copied and are sometimes fake, so my question is, are these fake, or are they real?? Answer: It’s good if you are concern about your future… but take few things in consideration before coming up to any decision. Design is a very vast field and to rush with everything will lead you to nowhere try to focus, analyze and ask yourself who you are and what you do? I mean furniture, design, graphic design, logos, photography… ask yourself where you are best and then go for it. Education is obviously must with your interest try to take classes, courses and schooling related to that field. Dedicate yourself and you will be the star of tomorrow.

Question: Cheating Wife. What To Do...? I have been at home with my two kids for almost 1 year now being unemployed but still doing some extra income at home as a web and graphic designer and at the same time, I can bring my boy to school everyday, cook food and all the things that I need to do at home as a home dad. Wife is the one working but lately, I've notice something is different about her. She always work late, few times telling me that she's with officemates in some night outs. Then when she comes home, she got no time for the kids, just sitting on the pc the til past midnight. This is like her routine. Then couple of days ago, I've caught her when she asked me to fix her cam on her chat messenger then suddenly there's a popup saying some word calling her 'BABES'. I really wanted to split up with my cheating wife who is useless for my kids but being unemployed here in the UK without benefits and no savings, seems I can't do anything but stay at home with the kids. What would you advise? BTW, I am an Asian with indefinite Permanent Residency status. and one time, she accidentally pressed her mobile phone speed call to our home number and recorded her voice accidentally with a loud music talking sweet to a man but the music is a bit loud and couldn't understand what they were talking about. she were supposed to be at work because the phone was recorded before 5pm. I asked her if there's a music in her work place and she said none. so i became suspicious. OK now this is the situation now... She ADMITTED it me that she is cheating and wants me to fly back home. She has no right to ask you to leave. You contribute equally to the family as well, not to say what you had contributed in the past. DOn't go, find more money and save up. You have to change that by building up your finance and find a job. It doesn;t matter who earns more but you get the self esteem back.
