Question: which is best to choose as an specialization for an electronic engineer?cisco, communication,or automation? Electronics engineer..gandang umaga po...?
i am an Electronic and communication engineering student. i just want to ask.. if which is better and indemand , because i have to choose my specialization .. CISCO, AUTOMATION, COMMUNICATION, POWER ELECTRONICS or MICRO ELECTRONICS.. which is in demand in most countires?...
Answer: I think it is safe to assume all are in demand and expected to remain that way for some time to come. How about an MSc or ME? A BSc or BE would be good, but for a bit of extra work, the Masters is a great option. I would focus on what third world countries are gong to need and focus on that. There is good money and excellent job opportunities in most 3rd world countries.
I personally chose what I would ENJOY doing, as opposed to something earning top dollar, but which I hated. This should go without saying but I hear it over and over - that "job x pays a few dollas a year more than job y, so I will train for that." If you enjoy what you do and do it well, iit is worth countless amounts of money, over doing something you hate. It has a value beyond dollars and cents.
Also, you and tend to find salaries go up for the best, most talented people anyway. This is reality and not a regulation you can look up and quote.
Are you aware the Cisco courses (some anyway) only last a couple of years and need to be done again? Also, I see less jobs advertising for comms people than the 'heavy industry' side of electronic control. I guess that would be my pick for that simple and sole reason.

Question: What is the best automation course for an electrical engineer?
Answer: Of course, different institutions will have different curricula. e.g.
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=automation+courses+required+for+an+electrical+engineer&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=automation+courses+required+for+an+electrical+engineer&gs_rfai=&fp=caec63d5ff72707a
There are many really good courses involved in getting a BSEE, and many more for higher degrees. For me, the most valuable courses were in Optimal control and Fuzzy Logic, given that I had already a basis in computer design itself.
.

Question: what is the best combination of subjects for MBA with Automation and control background? What are the better subjects to select in MBA for an Automation & Control Engineer,
Answer: Many people have misconceptions about the MBA degree, thinking that it consists of majors or concentrations that give you in depth training in a specific field. The degree Master of Business Administration is not the same as Master of Science. The MBA is a general broad degree covering a wide variety of business issues and training students for careers in managing any area of business up to CEO. MBA students study accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, management, strategy, policy, leadership and similar courses. The MBA was developed because people with technical backgrounds getting promoted into management are not always able to manage, and many people in management don't understand the technical fields they manage. That's why MBA programs prefer students with degrees in other than business. Their graduates learn to manage and can speak the language of the people they manage, whether that is engineering, chemistry, medicine, music, or any other field.
The MS is a degree that concentrates study in a specific field, such as finance, accounting, electrical engineering, biology, and chemistry and trains students for careers in high level staff positions often involving research.
Many MBA programs offer concentrations, but this usually amounts to 2-3 elective courses in a specific field. Thus an MBA in marketing may amount to a student taking Market Research, Advertising, and Consumer Behavior as a marketing concentration, while a finance concentration may mean courses in Mergers and Acquisitions, Security Analysis, and Intermediate Accounting. In contrast an MS in marketing involves a full year or more of marketing courses with perhaps 2-3 electives in related fields. An MBA student may opt to take electives in Production, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management and other areas in order to broaden his background rather than concentrating in a single area.
Before you consider an MBA program consult the Official MBA Guide, a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and others. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
Question: What is the difference between Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Automation Engineering? Pls answer in refernce to B Tech admission @IP Univ
Answer: mechanical automation is combination of mechanical and instrumentation engineering...
in simple words, if mechanical engineering teaches u how to hit a hammer with hands, mechanical automation teaches hw to do it automatically..
Question: Why is a person at a company that's clueless to engineering the one in charge of hiring an engineer? You can tell them all you know on you resume me but that's won't do you any good because that clueless person is only word searching for the words "Engineer" and "Degree" which any one can get in three years but a person with my talents of being a mechanical engineering and automation machine designer and machinist that can't spell for over 26 years are never seen.
Answer: no real answer, but i have seen it, too.
i know that i have to use the RIGHT words on the resume because a computer is doing the first search.
It may eventually get to a real engineer, but maybe just to a manager - and, as you say, that person is VERY likely to not be an engineer in any field.
Question: what is the scope of mechanical & automation engineering? also i want to know whether one should do MS after btech(MAE) or should opt for MBA?
Answer: MS after BTech could be the choice.

Question: What is the average salary for an entry level Computer Engineer in MA? I'm a student who is going to have a year and a half of (co-op) experience when I graduate from college, and I wanted to know the average salary for a computer engineer in MA?
embedded?
automation?
IT?
software?
etc?
p.s. I will have a professional project management certificate when I graduate as well
Answer: I'm not entirely sure about Massachusetts as far as salaries go there. The general average starting salary of an electrical or computer engineer around the entire US is about $55-60k/yr. After a few years, it goes up quite a bit. For IT, generally it's about $40k/yr, software, $65k/yr, but all of this depends on your proficiency and the company that you work for. If you already have co-op experience, then you can expect a little more. Compensate for cost of living in massachusetts, and it's a little more still.

HSC-65%
BE-58%
TOEFL-82
2years of experience in industrial automation.
Answer: If you are looking for MBA Internationally then few thing you need to keep in mind all the top MBA schools will ask for graduate degree along with minimum 3 yrs. of work experience rather managerial work experience, along with good GMAT score not less than 650.... Plus English proficiency tests either TOEFL/IELTS. Also all the top Business schools are expensive.... so you can analyze your academic records couple with requisite tests & budget, based on these parameters you can choose your pick. Other differential is duration of course like in UK/Ireland & few other schools MBA are for one year only, so one can save both time & money

Question: which is the best automation training institute in mumbai regarding teaching & placement? I have completed my engineering course & want to do automation training, which institute in Mumbai will be the best regarding teaching & placement, if anyone can help?
Answer: educationindia.com..
Question: Is embedded systems design related to automation engineering? If yes then how? Please Elaborate.?
Answer: hello,
Automation engineering will deal with controller where usually an automation engineer will have to program them. the programming of a controller called PLC, in this case is done using LADDER logic, CFC or SFC (not like C/C++ language). they are like charts and connecting logic blocks..
now those who developed the PLC are embedded and software engineers. so here is the main relation.
one more thing is that there are some stand alone PLCs where it could be programmed in C, and in this case you could have the experience of an embedded engineer.

Question: Need help to create POC for implementing automation in testing the software ? What are the contents of POC ? Hi Friends ,
I am working as a test engineer . My company is thinking about implementing automation in my project . For which I’ve been asked to prepare a POC .
But I am not sure , what should go into it . Can anyone help me with the structure of POC and what information it should contain ? Please send me an example , if any one has any at qa.drishti@yahoo.com .
- Thanks in advance ,
Drishti
Answer: Drishti,
A POC stands for Proof of Concept. In your case, it is most likely not a document, although it might be supported by some documents.
In order to create a proof of concept in your project, you should consider the following questions:
1. What is the type of your application? For example, is it a web-based application, a desktop application, a mobile application or some other type of application?
2. In your project, what type of testing tasks are routine/ take substantial effort/ pain areas e.g. setting up test data, UI tests or functional tests?
3. What kind of budget does your company have? Would it be willing to go in for high-end commercial tools or would it only have budget for cheap/ free tools?
Once you have answers to the above questions, you should perform the following tasks:
1. Select one or two suitable tools (if it is a commercial tool, you could probably get a trial version of the same). If you were not familiar with the selected tool, you would need some training/ time on the same.
2. For each tool, create a simple automation for a couple of desired testing tasks.
3. When you have the automation working fine, you can present it to your manager for further action. You could support this simple automation with a document that explains the approach you took to create the POC.
Hope I was able to help!

Question: How difficult is to find a job in USA being an experienced engineer? Hi everyone!
Im electrical engineer (a BS of 6 years) and right now im studying for my masters degree; both in Uruguay.
I have almost 7 years of electrical engineer experience in several industries here in my country.
My specialty and the subject of my masters degree is control engineering, and currently Im working in an power generation plant as a control and automation engineer.
English of course is not an issue.
Im studying the option of emigrate since here in Uruguay I do pretty well, but I would like to have more challenges as a professional, and of course to improve my income.
I totally understand that in order to be allowed to work in the US you need a sponsor.
My question is :in your opinion
- Which steps should I follow in order to get an opportunity of a job interview to get a sponsor?
- Do you think that my idea is too crazy? (I mean trying to get an approach to an interview)
Thanks for dedicating time to read my question!!!!
Best regards
Dear RANGARAJAN S. Thanks a lot for taking time to write an answer to my question.
DICE.COM is a site oriented to IT professionals, and though I have very good IT skills, my profile is much more electrical, control and instrumentation oriented.

Question: Career change : Computer networking or home automation ? I'm currently working in the networking filed as a helpdesk agent and I have a chance to work in the homw automation field as a site engineer , which to choose ?
Answer: If you like being creative, go for home automation. This market is relatively tiny in comparison to network communications, but it has very strong growth potential. Since the components required for home automation are decreasing in price, more and more people are making the decision to upgrade their security system to a full blown home automation system. Your background should allow you to be very successful, since part of the trick is figuring out how to set up all the networks in the system (ie. video, computers, dist. audio, etc.). Bottom line to me is that you'll make more of a difference to people by helping them automate their homes, than by working at the help desk. And if the company ever gets rid of the position, you'll probably have enough knowledge and contacts to start your own business. Good luck, either way!
Question: hey can any one tell me about career options in robotics and automation engieneering in india? hey am doing my 12th grade can any one tell me about engineering in robotics and automation
Answer: India is the place to be for jobs like that. Since the USA and a lot of other countries are outsourcing to India lots of opportunities will be available. Good luck to you.
Question: What might be the salary range for Robotics Engineer after completing Master degree and as a fresher in UK? I have a Bachelor degree in Mechatronics. I'm going to complete Master's in Robotics and Automation. What type of organisations can provide me with a high pay job as i'm being a fresher in UK?
Answer: I don't know if you are thinking about a job in the UK, or even where you originate from.
But I have worked on Instrument control systems all my life, based in the UK and worked mainly on contracts overseas.
Now this may appear to be a strange reply but most of my contracts came from 'The Daily Telegraph' UK news paper. And the jobs are mainly advertised every Thursday!
For your type of work look under 'Engineering', but just to make sure read the lot.
Even if you don't find anything suitable it will give you lots of ideas, and only cost a few pennies.
Off the top of my head I would guess if you have your Masters degree , and no actual 'Field' experience you should expect to be on around £25k for your first year, but this will rapidly rise as you gain more 'Field' experience!
Good luck to you whatever happens, and don't forget to buy that news paper, I am not on any commission from them!!!
Question: how much do automation technicians(Electrical Engineering Technology - Control ) make in their beginning year?

Question: What's the Difference Between Robotics and Automation? General replies are welcome, but I'd prefer to know the difference as an Industry. Bonus: What's the best way for a General/Mechanical Engineer to enter these fields?
Answer: Robotics is the science where in the chip has a logical vision and can decide to react and it is a research oriented branch.
Automation is to make an existing system or device into a more sophesticated and more useful and less human dependant.
Question: how much does a automation technician (Electrical Engineering Technology - Control ) makes yearly or hourly?
what would be the starting salarly or hourly wage after your done all the schooling
Answer: I make $40 per hour.
