Question: In college what does a System Engineer do? Also is this field of study popular? I went to a college and i saw that they had System Engineering and i am wondering what exactly do you do when you become a System Enginner.
Thank you for your time in reading this.
Answer: Systems engineering is that part of the technical management process that coordinates and oversees the translation of an operational need into a system designed to meet that need. It integrates the inputs of all the required technical disciplines into a coordinated effort that meets established performance, cost, and schedule goals. Systems engineers provide the leadership and coordination of the planning, development, and engineering of technical systems, including hardware and software components. Systems engineering currently enjoys growing importance and recognition as a distinct discipline, widely sought by both industry and government.
Question: as a bachelor, Information System Engineer , what are my chances to immigrate to Australia? I want to move to australia when I finish my Bs.C degree in Information System Engineering. I've been working half-time in a software company for the last year , and I'm single (currently , anyway).
What are my chances to get an immigration visa to Australia?
And where can I find more specific data about it? (I've been reading tons of forms , but it didn't make me any smarter about my chances)
Answer: You can visit their Australian government website. If you are a skilled migrant, you can take the Skilled Migrant Category Visa, in this visa, you just have to prove your experience, your educational attainment and other relevant factors. Of course, this will entail a lot of paperwork to prove your qualifications. You should also look if your occupation is in their National Occupational List, or listed in their skills shortage. Being an engineer you need to register in the professional body of engineers in Australia that regulates the profession.
Nothing is easy in migration. You have to have enough patience to research, ask, or money to spend for the processing of your application. Be diligent and surely it will be rewarded. This website is virtually complete with all the questions you will need: www.immi.gov.au.
The government website is easy to understand and easy to read. Better yet, visit a nearest Australian Embassy in your area/ country.

Question: whats another name for a System Engineer? I'm trying to find information about this job but i cant find it on careerbuilder.com..... so i'm guessing there must be another name for a System Engineer.. is it a electrical engineer? civil engineer? petroleum engineer? by the way if theres NO other name for a system engineer, could you tell me a website that shows me information about all kinds of jobs? like their annual pay, wage, education, etc?
Answer: It's a 'blanket' term-come-cliche and is applicable to all and any forms of engineering. It is a term popularly banded-about by marketing people and such-like who have little idea of what the term actually means themselves! But to them, it sounds impressive! So they conclude that you'll be impressed too. (I know - amazing, isn't it?). In practice, it usually means something like "We want an engineer who can do everything and anything, 'cause at the moment, we're not too sure ourselves just what we do want!"
When I see jobs advertised like that - I make a point of NOT applying for them.

Question: what do i need to pursue my carrer in "microsoft certified system engineer"? what do i need to pursue my carrer in "microsoft certified system engineer"? i dont have any formal computer education before although i am a college graduate (BA).
Answer: Start at Microsoft's Certifications Overview to make sure MCSE is the right cert for you.
Then choose; are you an in-class-learner, or can you learn from good books? Amazon is replete with great MCSE books for each exam you want to take. The Microsoft website will give you links to training options for in-class courses.
(From my experience, though, a lot of the in-class courses are no better than reading from the book, since that's what the instructor does.)

Question: how much does a computer system engineer earn here in the US?
Answer: How long or short is a piece of string?
Are you serious? Have you tried other sources? If you have the money for the internet, maybe you should try a telephone & call a company or 3.
I may as well ask, "How much does a nuclear physicist earn"? Since one of these people (nuclear physicist) lives in the same building as me, if I tell you how LITTLE he/she makes, how will it help you? Use your head!
Question: I am Engineer of System, US ARMY may bears in mind? I am 24 years old, venezuelan. I have just graduated of Engineer of System, i have not military or professional experience still, but i am thinking seriusly join US army.
I was wondering, will they consider my university level in order to offer me a higher military range than the normal "private" level ?,
Answer: Citizenship
While there is a statutory requirement that only a United States Citizen may become a commissioned officer, this is not true for enlistment. Certain non-citizens can enlist in the United States Armed Forces. To be eligible to enlist, a non-citizen must:
(1) Entered the United States on a permanent residence visa or has an Alien Registration Receipt Card (INS Form 1-551/I-551 greencard or stamped I-94), and
(2) Established a bona fide residence, and
(3) Established a home of record in the United States.
The visa and/or "greencard" must have sufficient time remaining on it (expiration date) to be valid during the entire term on enlistment. While non-citizens may enlist in the U.S. Military, they are not allowed to reenlist (stay in beyond their first term of service), unless they first become U.S. Citizens. However, there are accelerated citizenship procedures for non-citizens on active duty. For details, see our article, U.S. Citizenship in the Military.
I get lots of email from non-U.S. citizens, who do not live in the U.S., asking how they can join the U.S. Military. Quite simply, you can't. In order to join any branch of the United States Military, one must either be a U.S. Citizen, or one must be a legal immigrant, currently living in the United States, with a "green card." The United States Military cannot and will not assist in the immigration process. In order to join the U.S. Military, one must legally immigrate first, and then apply to join the military, once they are living in the U.S.
For enlistment purposes, citizens of the United States include citizens of: Guam, Puerto Rico, The U.S. Virgin Islands,The Northern Marianas Islands, American Samoa, The Federated States of Micronesia, and The Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Not all non-citizens may be eligible to enlist. Applicants who have been residents of countries considered hostile to the interests of the United States require a waiver. See your local recruiter for the most current list of countries considered hostile to the interests of the United States.
While non-citizens may enlist, they will find their job choices extremely limited. DOD policy prohibits granting security clearances to non-U.S. Citizens. Therefore, non-Citizens. who enlist in the United States military will be limited to those jobs which do not require a security clearance.

Question: Is it possible to get MCSE in 3 months (microsoft certified system engineer)? a instructor told my friend that he can get it in 3 months. he works full time and the course is held at the weekend.
is he being bull-shitted or is this really possible? my friend has NO experience in IT. he has been trying to get a helpdesk job but without certification he is having a hard time getting a job. but he is adamant about changing his career.
what if he study the course full time?
Answer: If he doesn't know anything about IT then I would suggest he go for MCSA or CompTIA A+. There is plenty of info available online to pass. But I would think that 3 months is still a stretch.
Question: What is the best guide/book for taking the MCSE Microsoft Certified System Engineer? I've heard of Troytec/TestKiller, but I still need some good guide books.
Answer: Go to the creator - Microsoft Press.

Question: I urgently need a system engineer (laptop)? I have laptops to be worked on. My name is kyle and i stay in the united state of america and i would prefer an engineer from the US, Looking forward to a real engineer?
Answer: You don't need an engineer to fix laptops.
A computer technician would suffice.
Question: is 2 years of exp as a system engineer in INFOSYS sufficient to get a job in another company?
Answer: Right now the IT field has a lot of very experienced folks on the street looking for work. So it you were planning to get a job today in this field you would be up against some stiff competition.
The future looks like it should be better and there will always be the opportunity to find work. IT does not look like it is going away anytime soon and it is one of the only careers that allows you to go sideways into different business fields. There are few jobs where you can work in aerospace, health care and manufacturing businesses all with the same IT training.
As far as what you need to get a job: The Holy Grail for IT employment is a 4 year degree, some industry certs and experience. If you have all three of those you should be good. You did not mention your computer degrees or certifications.
Get some certs. The A+ and Network+ can be self-studied so try those as a starting point. I have 21 Microsoft certs and A+. About ¾ of those were self-studied. Also find some IT specialty area that interests you that you can specialize in like Security, Scripting, SQL, etc. Sign up with Windows IT Pro magazine and others to get all the information on that topic so you can begin to be a subject matter expert (SME) in that field.
Question: which one is important system engineer or developer for web site?
Answer: Without the system engineer there wouldn't be a web site. Without the developer there wouldn't be anything on it.
Which is more important, your heart or your lungs? If you had to give up your heart or both of your lungs, which would you choose?
Question: what type of organisation is best to work with as a computer system engineer?
Answer: First of all, I would say that no matter what type of job you do, the best place to work would ultimately be the place where you feel relaxed, confident, accepted and above all gives you the feeling of developing yiour skills and receiving the quality of pay worthy of your position.
But in relation to the specific job you mention, being a computer system engineer means you have the flexibility to choose positions in the fields of IT, systems analysis and even engineering, with the emphasis on computer engineering.
Some of the well-paid jobs would include: Systems analyst, software engineer, software developer, mechanical engineer in telecommunications and technology, IT sales manager and possibly even a hardware systems engineer.
The best way of finding the relevant jobs available to you is to check career websites and do a search on the job in question. Here's a couple of links that might be helpful:

Question: My son want to became a system Engineer, can you please tell my what is the best university, we live in? California, thank you very much for you help.
he asked me what is the best university here for Engineers, and I don't know how to find out this.
Answer: I may not know the best university, but I can give some suggestions. UC Riverside is "apparently" the best engineering school for its size, I have met some bright engineers from there. UC's are good, Cal poly pomona as well. You can also send your son off to MIT, but remember, the only thing different schools really give you is a name on a piece of paper. My brother never attended college, yet he has people with degrees for MIT that work for him, and he makes at least 30 grand a year more than them. If your son has excellent skills, it doesn't really matter where he goes, as long as he works around people will come to know who he is.
Even if you find the best university there is, remember; You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force him to drink. Make sure your son goes to a school where he will be motivated and interested, and don't put too much pressure on him.

Question: what is the Microsoft system engineer ?
Answer: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) refers to the broad certification program for Microsoft, although it can also refer to an individual candidate who had completed any one exam within the program (subject to some exclusions).
The MCP program offers multiple certifications, based on different areas of technical expertise. To attain these certifications, a candidate must pass a series of exams within the program. The current certifications are Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) and the Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA).
Popular previous generation certifications include Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
Question: what kind of work 'System Engineer' does in INFOSYS company ? INFOSYS is an IT company.?
Answer: You would do anything from working on software development, IT Networking, or other computer work. You usually have certifications including CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, MCSE, or other technical qualifications.
Question: is there a correlation between being good at math and being a good system engineer? math vs MCSE
Answer: If you mean if you are great at math then you'll be a great engineer - no
If you mean you'll use the same approach to math problems (organized, doing steps in order) as you will to engineering problems - then yes
Are you going to need math? You need at least SOME math. You usually will not be doing calculus, but you need to be able to do general algebra, geometry, and problem solving as well as know your way around a spreadsheet and a calculator
Question: how much should a senior system engineer's salary be?
Answer: How about putting it perspective at Ford mtr co. A floor sweeper makes $100,000. That should make you feel good, right?
Question: pls tell me a system engineer job's role.should we hav to use ccna knowledge.?
Answer: System engineers maintain, support, and basically run the computer equipment and/or networking gear that any medium to large business needs to function efficiently. This usually means that you're proficient in some sort of Windows/Unix/Linux operating system, user-based office solutions, and can run cables and support at least some basic networking equipment.
CCNA = Cisco Certified Network Associate. The entry level training for running a network device from Cisco.
Most Windows shops will require you to either have or get your MCSE and CCNA before you'll be able to do much more than tell users to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, and did they try turning it off and on again....
Question: How could an engineer apply his or her knowledge of the skeletal system to the workplace?
Answer: Skeletal system is highly important for living things because it protects our vital organs. This could be used in cars by protecting the person, engine, gas tank....same for buildings by having the spine able to hold us up strong and still being able to move around with easy...I'm not sure it would relate directly to either, but sounds like it could be....
Question: Microsoft Certified System Engineer? How long is the test, do i need to have good math to pass it? is job opportunity good?
Answer: MCSE, which is constantly (and painfully) confused with MSCE (Master of Science, Civil Engineering, what I have), isn't an engineering exam.
This has to do with supporting Microsoft Networks, I would say that math probably isn't that important but is present. As for job opportunities, based on the number of emails I get, they are definitely out there, particularly at larger companies and in larger cities.
The test is definitely less than 8 hours. I think they're two hours or so, try microsoft's web site for more information.

Question: are Electrical And Computer System Engineering and Electronics Engineering same ? I'm planing to build up my path to university and at a certain institute told me that the Electrical and Computer System is same as Electronics Engineering and its just a different name for the same digree.
What I want to do is Electronics Engineering. But the above mentioned university does not offers a degree name "Electronics Engineering" but they have that "Electrical And Computer System Engineering".
Are they same (as the institute told me)? Is it ok to go with that degree?
Thanks A LOT in advance!
Answer: Eletrical engineering covers all the bases, but:
I would think that Electrical And Computer System Engineering would have a stronger focus on Computer Engineering. If you really want electronics, I would look for a university that didn't seem to focus as much on computer engineering (this deals with computer architecture more than electronics).
On the other hand, they may use that title just to make it clear that their graduates can work in both areas and not really to show a focus.
Question: What is an open and closed system (systems engineering)? Don't answer if its any other than an engineering system!!
No need to add anything else to dumb that down:
open loop systems need human intervention and closed loop systems work independently
Answer: A closed loop system has a path from the output back to an input of the system.
An open loop system does not.
Example from the Wikipedia link below:
Consider an automobile's cruise control, which is a device designed to maintain a constant vehicle speed; the desired or reference speed, provided by the driver. The system in this case is the vehicle. The system output is the vehicle speed, and the control variable is the engine's throttle position which influences engine torque output.
A primitive way to implement cruise control is simply to lock the throttle position when the driver engages cruise control. However, on mountain terrain, the vehicle will slow down going uphill and accelerate going downhill. In fact, any parameter different than what was assumed at design time will translate into a proportional error in the output velocity, including exact mass of the vehicle, wind resistance, and tire pressure. This type of controller is called an open-loop controller because there is no direct connection between the output of the system (the vehicle's speed) and the actual conditions encountered; that is to say, the system does not and can not compensate for unexpected forces.
In a closed-loop control system, a sensor monitors the output (the vehicle's speed) and feeds the data to a computer which continuously adjusts the control input (the throttle) as necessary to keep the control error to a minimum (that is, to maintain the desired speed). Feedback on how the system is actually performing allows the controller (vehicle's on board computer) to dynamically compensate for disturbances to the system, such as changes in slope of the ground or wind speed. An ideal feedback control system cancels out all errors, effectively mitigating the effects of any forces that might or might not arise during operation and producing a response in the system that perfectly matches the user's wishes. In reality, this cannot be achieved due to measurement errors in the sensors, delays in the controller, and imperfections in the control input.

Question: is it possible to get MCSE in 3 months? (microsoft certified system engineer)? a instructor told my friend that he can get in 3 months provided that he reduce his work to part time and studying everyday in a lab.
is he being bull-shitted or is this really possible? my friend has previous experience in IT, so it makes me wonder. but he is adamant about changing his career.
EDIT:
My friend has no IT experience.
Answer: It's possible, but not for everyone. It's a lot of work, a lot of learning, and a lot of reading. But, if you apply yourself it can be done.
What your friend really needs to ask himself is if he can put forth a massive level of dedication. If he can discipline himself and study, then it can be done.
Question: Hi, I'm planning to do 'microsoft certified system engineer'(MSCE). I've got some question:? 1. Can i study at home and give the exams from microsoft registered centers?
2. Do i have to register online with microsoft??
3. After passing each exam out of 7, do i'll get passing certificate from microsoft?
any guidence or suggestions highly appreciated. Thanks
Answer: Hello,
(ANS) I DON'T want to dent your ego or enthusiasm here but I paid a four digit sum of money and completed my MCSE windows 2000 pro & 2000 advanced server. I completed 30 days offical MS curriculum training with one of the UK's top IT training companies and it was a total waste of time & money, its one of my lifes biggest regrets.
My personal advise is DON'T waste your money or time doing an MCSE study course why? because most employers don't value it and most havent a clue how hard a student works to pass their MS exams. The MS exams are totally ridiculous & utterly nit picking if your answer is not 100% correct its just classed as wrong i.e. no latitude which doesnt mirror real life anyway. The MS exams are just an interlectual mind game, mental gymnastics, students commonly fail these exams because they were tripped up by the wording not because they didn't know the real answer. This is just a nice cash cow for the exam companies & Microsoft.
No.1 YES! of course
No.2 No! depends on the course itself or who you are doing it through.
No.3 No! you get your certification from the course provider who is normally a MS authorized training provider, but it does proove you completed an MCSE.
DONT DO IT !! is my sincerest advise.

Question: whats a computer system engineer? dont explain with big words keep it simple
Answer: It generally refers to someone who builds and maintains computer "systems." Systems = operating systems and the hardware necessary to run those operating systems.
A systems administrator, or "sys admin" is an example of a computer systems engineer.
A microsoft systems specialist with credentials is a "Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer" or MCSE.
Question: i selected as a system engineer before one and half year. still i didn,t get my joining date. what s d reason?
Answer: it is a common problem in the IT sector these days. many companies have put their hiring plans on freeze. others have delayed joining dates. some permanent employees have been asked to leave..it is all due to the US economy slowdown. our software industry is heavily dependant on US. nearly 90% of revenues come from their. with US in such a dire situation now, it is but obvious that people like you will face some problems.
Question: i am doing Microsoft Certified System Engineer computer course will i get any good job after finishing this .
Answer: With the economy the way it is and the competition in the computer field, good luck. be prepared to work for $15hr
Question: What is the average cost difference between a conventional drain field and septic and an engineered system? We are having a house built in northern Alabama and the perc test came back as requiring an engineered system with over 600 ft of field lines. [EDIT]:
my friend NO experience in IT
[EDIT]:
my friend NO experience in IT
Answer: It is possible to get an MCSE/MCDBA/MCAD in 2 weeks. Most full time boot camps offer this for about $6000-$7000. You study from 8am to 5pm in a instructor led computer lab/hands on environment and then self study for another 3 to 4 hours in the evening. You average 1 exam every 2 days and it is very hard work but if you have more money than time or you arent very good at motivating yourself, they do have a very high success rate.
Question: is it possible to shift from system engineer post to software engineer???
Answer: Its actually pretty different role, it will be advantage in certain ways as you have better understanding of the hardware needed.
Chances is normally slim.

Question: does microsoft take Microsft certified system engineer exams online? can i give a mcse exam from home...if yes then on what site...
what are the benifits of mcse and do i still need a 4 yr course in computers to get a job in microsoft beside a mcse...
can a mcse get me a job....
Answer: First off, your grammar is horrendous, and I can't imagine that you would even be able to pass a test.
That being said, no, Microsoft does not offer these on line...everyone and anyone could take and pass the test, thereby devaluing it.
The benefits? Having an MCSE proves that you know your shtt.
You DON'T need a four year course, and an MCSE alone will not get you a job.
Most employers are looking for someone with verifiable experience, not just a piece of paper.

Question: Which career path is the "better" choice: Unix System Engineer or IT Storage Engineer? With several years IT Operations experience I'm about to be promoted in one of two directions - fortunately I get to choose. I can either join the Unix System team or the IT Storage team. One path means I get to work with backups, an EMC, and distributed storage; while the other path takes me to building unix systems, installations, problem solving, and in general anything in that direction. Given that either choice defines my career in essence in IT .. which direction would be preferable? Which job path has the higher salary? Which job path has better chances of finding work generally in the marketplace? I really dont want to make a mistake with this because backtracking later could be very very difficult.
Answer: Unix anything ALL THE WAY!!! With Unix and C+ skills, that's the best in the sense that it leads to more future options. The IT storage option is good but it's also limited in what you are able to negoiate when it comes to future employment. Unix skills are a lot more difficult and there are far fewer trained employees, with less supply and high demand - that's an obvious.
Either way, storage jobs are more interactive when it comes to customer and IT relations and Unix is the opposite. Which is important to you?
In the end, i would recommend the Unix job above ANY others. Good luck i hope you are ready for the challenge regardless of your final decision because both will be extremely difficult and possibly equally "fullfilling".
Question: whether system engineer is equivalent to software engineers?? i mean both are having the same status ?? or pay??
Answer: A system engineer usually coordinates the operation of *many* pieces of software as a whole scenario, whereas a software engineer may focus on a single piece of software at a time. Thus a system engineer may seem to receive higher status (and pay) for a higher and complex view of a computer's "state of mind" and thought *patterns* whereas a software engineer focuses on a computer's single "thought-at-a-time".
Question: Are there characteristics of a system that cannot be established during system engineering activities? Describe the characteristics, if any, and explain why a consideration of them must be delayed until later engineering steps.
Answer: When putting a system together, the different components interacting may show unexpected behaviors. It is hard to be able to predict these completely.
A typical example happens in power plants when running steam boilers or power generators in parallel. The load is not distributed evenly, as would happen on a stand alone unit, but needs to be constantly tweaked.
In addition, there are unexpected configurations resulting from the installation itself, which create unstable modes due to interaction. These must be addressed and proper compensation through the control system be applied,

Question: My enquiry is about Ireland Green Card system for working as an engineer.? It was mentioned on one of the websites that only those who are on GNIB card (stamp 1 and stamp 4 are eligible for getting a Green Card. Stamp 1 = person who is legally working in Ireland on a work permit or work visa. Stamp 4 = person who is married to Irish citizen or is a refugee.
I have a job offer at a well known multinational company for electronics engineering and salary is above 30,000 Euros per year. They gave a job offer on the basis of my master's degree in engineering. At the moment I am doing my PhD and I am on student visa (stamp 2). When I start working full time, I would like to complete my PhD part time. The company applied for a Green Card and it was rejected since I am on stamp 2.
a] Does this mean that in order to get a green card, I have to apply for it at the Irish embassy in my home country ? b] Would a work permit be a safer option for me instead of the Green card ? How long would it take to get a work permit if my company is willing to apply for it.
Answer: Why don't you phone the Irish Embassy in your home country and ask them? By the sound of it, you will qualify for a Stamp 1 if you have a letter offering you a job in Ireland, complete with a contact number for the HR department in the company, of the head of the department you'd be working in.
Question: what is system engineer?
Answer: System Engineer is a generic term. In the power industry, a System Engineer is the engineer responsible for the design and operation of an electric transmission and/or distribution network. That is the networked grid that supplies electricity to your home. The System Engineer is responsible for planning to accomodate system growth, operational efficiency, and reliability. Many times they have additional management responsibilites. For example, many System Engineers also supervise other departments that are related to engineering like staking designers, linemen, or emergency dispatch personnel.
In other industries a system enginner would assume a role along those same guidelines. The "system" in other industries would not necessarily be an electrical grid.

Answer: SAP BASIS is what you need to go for...it certainly does
Question: I wanna be an engineer in the Forces but what positions in the Army/Navy have the most action? I thought about a Marine Systems Engineer but I'm not sure if they get a lot time in things like boarding crews. I wanted that cause I saw a documentary about the Canadian Navy and how it operates but I want a lot of gun usage and stuff.
Answer: You have a few options the first thing you need to look at is if you want to be or an officer or enlist as a non-commissioned member. A NCM WILL see more action due to the fact officers are more of the leaders and planners and the NCM are the work horses so to speak. As for gun usage this depends on the type of gun you are referring and would like to work with in the Navy there are the Browning machine guns and the Bofors (the big guns) or would you rather a C7 rifle? in which case the army is best suited. The combat engineer trade is a combat and engineering trade (as the title describes) so that is by far the one with the most of both worlds. What I recommend is going to www.forces.ca and click on job explorer and look through all the positions that seem appealing then look into them. There are lots of information about training, work atmosphere, posting along with a video of the job and pictures.
Hope it helps!
Question: MCSE (Micosoft Certified System Engineer)? one year ago i finished a course in networking MCSE , the problem is i feel that its too late for it and im afraid that i wont get benefit from it , when i first took it i was convinced that it would help my future career , i paid alot of money about $7000 for that course and i dont want to feel that it wasnt worth it SO..im sorry its not really a question but i want to know what u guys think about this ..i know its too late cuz i already took the course ..but i want to know will i benefit from it , wil it help my future career in networking, is it as important as they convinced me when i registered for mcse????
Answer: The course has minimal value if you didn't also get the MCSE certification from Microsoft. An Associates degree from most community colleges would barely cost $7000
If you did go ahead and get the MCSE cert then you should see some value in it. If you haven't gotten certified, you need to or you won't get the return you're expecting.
The MCSE still has value in the IT industry.
Question: Describe the Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) 2003 with reference to international possibilities? Please provide the referencies or sources where you got the anwser ( THE BIBLIOGRAPHY ).
Answer: homework ?? go to www.lukol.com and put your search in there
Question: any gift ideas for my husband, an electrical engineer? My hubby is a senior systems engineer for a defense company and he loves his laptop (of course)! I can't think of anything to get him for Christmas!!! Any ideas on any type of new electronics or gizmos that I may not know about? I thought about a tray or laptop cushion for him to use on the plane or car so any suggestions on which ones of those are good would be appreciated too! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! THANKS!
Answer: How about a GSP system, iRobot, or home theater watch? They are cool gadgets for engineers.
Question: could u plz tell me whether the system engineer is IT or BPO related?? i would like to know what exactly? is the job profile?? plzzz let me know...
Answer: There are all kinds of systems engineers of all sorts. In the computer world, most systems engineers are IT professionals with degrees or other training in network administration and management.
In IT, most systems engineers are responsible for maintaining computer networks, servers and network logins / security. Some are also responsible for additional tasks, such as client computers, minor programming, database administration, etc.
Question: what brilliant engineer came up with the idea to limit users on yahoo answers with a points system? obviously when you have asked your few for the day you can vote on a few and leave-thats right leave, and go to another site.
Is that brilliant or what?
to remain here unable to answer questions and not wanting to use up your points to ask any nor your time voting on a few. It seems to send many people away to other sites.
Answer: It is to encourage people answering and discourage people from spamming questions...
Question: Whats the going pay rate for computer system engineers? I am a freelance contrator and have been doing a lot of small & personal busnesses, and am stepping back into corparate, and has been ask to come up with my own numbers or rate of pay.
Answer: Depends on the role. Titles mean nothing these days. A computer systems engineer could be jamming memory into the memory slot. Depends on credentials, experience, and the actual job. I'd say though maybe between 36K and 66k

Question: main duty of industrial engineer is to defined the defective of system or solve the def. or define and solve? whats the main
defined or solve?
Answer: Classically speaking, the main duty of an IE is to develop manufacturing processes, set standards for production, improve throughput, and decrease costs associated with the production system.
The role of the IE can go well beyond the classical aspects, though.
Question: diff rent between hardware engineer and system administrator.?
Answer: Depends on the environment. A hardware, in general, would maintain hardware. Install servers, change drives as needed. Connect systems together. A system administrator in a SMALLER organization (compared to one large enough to have a hardware engineer) would do the same things, but also manage servers in setting up accounts, created shares, performing routine maintenance and as needed changes to servers and systems through software (Windows/Linux/Other OS).
Question: What is the name of the engineering system used in weather veins etc to turn in wind direction? Im doing it with water but basically the same.
Thanks
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by engineering system.
But it comes under fluid mechanics.
The wind hits the tail of the vein to turn it towards the wind.
Question: What GCSE Qualification do You need for Computer system engineering or Computer science? Because i working towards a MATHS GCSE at A - B and Science B - C and English A - C
Answer: If you mean Degree, you won't get through on GCSE grades. Anything above C will get you into a college or institute of further education.
Question: Why is it so hard to engineer a highway system that works???
I appologise if I've offenden your work ... I mean no disrespect ... My father was a highway engineer, and he always talked about it ... however, do you commute to work on a regular basis and see how insain it is out there???
Answer: A transportation engineer once told me that if two cities are connected by a dirt road (or a small paved road), you can not use traffic on the old road to estimate how large a new highway should be. Build the highway and it will be used by far more people, because of the added convenience.
Building a highway is a complicated business aside from the engineering. Funding must be justified and obtained (by government agencies or a private toll road company). A right-of-way must be obtained by buying up property including eminent domain acquisitions. Gentle curves and grades are desirable and that may require substantial cuts and fills where earth moving is very expensive. Excavations may require explosives. The highway design should be adequate for an estimated use growth through the years but not without practical limit. The number of lanes and cloverleafs may be added only when sufficiently justified. It may not be economical for all the reasons mentioned and likely a few more for the highway to perform nearly as well in peak use (rush hour) than at other times. Safety is probably always the most important factor and careless accidents always hold up traffic. Some major companies actually release workers at say half-hour staggered intervals to reduce traffic congestion and those who have the flexibility to choose travel times can help by traveling before or after the daily rushes. Courtesy and patients always helps. If that's not enough take a bus and eliminate perhaps 40 cars for every bus load, right?
Question: can i get a job as a software engineer if i get a bachelors in computer information system? is this possible?
Answer: Technically a software engineer is someone who has been academically trained to manage software projects. In my experience, in order to get a job managing software projects you have to have progressive experience in managing aspects of software projects. You get that experience by first working as a lead programmer and taking on increasing levels of responsibility up to project management.
As an entry level person with academic training in software, you will almost certainly start out as a software developer. Depending on what courses you have taken, you may work in an Information Technology support role, which does not usually involve software development but is more of a computer administrator type position. This is a staff position in the IT department which does not usually lead to software project management.
In my experience, in order to be considered for a software management position (i.e., software engineering) you need to gain experience in the various phases of software development first. This means you have to have a good grounding in computer languages, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, etc.
On the otherhand, very large corporations have a career track for very large software projects in which you can start out on the project management side, for example as someone who maintains/updates project schedules, and eventually work your way into a non-technical project management role. These very large projects have a non-technical project manager (who could be a software engineer) and a technical chief architect (who is most likely a computer scientist or has some other technical degree).
Hope this wasn't too confusing. I believe the short answer to your question is "Yes, most likely with a large corporation".
Question: Does "system engineering" result in artefacts being modified? Won't there be a drip feed of advice "Don't bother to try out the artefacts being produced during the normal course of development of the system (unless I say so)" ?
So won't the system engineering be badly done ?
So won't it likely start modifying artefacts ?
Answer: Hey "Easter" cool down! You seem to be angry. Calm & you will find your answers hidden in your questions.
Question: What are the disadvantages of applying quota system in engineering courses? i need the disadvantages only..thanks^_-
Answer: I don't know what you are talking about, this isn't communist russia. everyone can fail.
Question: I want to do Software Engineering should I take Information System Technology or Computer Science as my major? Im currently attending a college that offers Information System Technology for a full four years, they also offer Computer Science but it's as an AA and is seamlessly transferable to an other close by University. I want to eventually become a Software Engineer which major is best for me?
Answer: In that case, you'll want to do Computer Science, because you want to know what's going on inside, rather than just how to be a power user.
Information Systems is if you want to become an IT guy, fixing desktop computers rather than kicking back in your office writing great code.
Question: Are there characteristics of a system that cannot be established during system engineering activities?

Question: i have to write proposal for system engineering i am totally lost i am looking for structure used system en? looking for structure used system engineering and how they used it/
for example if i want 2 write about golden gate bridge.. what aspects of systems engineering i shall investigate in this system
Answer: I think you left some information out of your question. LIke what type of system, what type of engineering, what type of structure. Until then I don't know if I can answer you.
Question: Do I still need a standard TV Aerial as well as a dish with a Freesat System? I have just had a freesat HD recorder system installed. The Freesat engineer who installed the system has also plugged my old tv aerial into the back of the system. I was of the understanding the Freesat programmes now come through the dish and not the aerial? I tried unplugging the aerial but then I don't get any signal at all. Do I still need the aerial?, if not why do I lose the signal if I remove it. Would appreciate any advice, thanks.
Answer: The signal does come from the dish to the digibox, and if connected to the TV by scart, you should get a signal without an aerial. I am that guessing that you do not have a scart connection.

Question: Difference between system engineering and software engineering?
Answer: I am a materials engineer in a systems engineering course this term, and as far as I can tell systems engineering deals with systems and tasks within plants. Has a lot to do with feedback control and process dynamics. Software engineering is development of programs and such for computers, but as with all engineering there is always a bit of overlap.
Hope this helps.
Question: Are there alot of jobs for Microsoft certified system administrators and engineers? Do you have to already have an IT degree to enroll in the Microsoft certified system administrator and engineer courses? How much money can you expect to make annually? Who hires people with these certificates?
Answer: There are a lot of jobs that call for an MCSE certification, but you have to have the experience to back it up. Not just what you learn in the course but industry experience. No IT degree is needed to take the exams just the knowledge in what your doing.
I am an MCSE and started out in helpdesk. So don't expect to be doing a lot of network stuff in the beginning. I am now in my 5th year in the industry and have the title of Systems Administrator making over $48k+ bonuses and other incentives(Total would be close to $60). Good luck.
Question: "Software engineering" works if your system has been "rigorously engineered" in the first place. Does software engineering work if your system hasn't been rigorously engineered ?
(Someone might have noticed that rigorously engineered systems were being tested, defects "raised" , defects "actioned", and then a "flightworthy" system released. They might have thought it will work even if you don't start with a "rigorously engineered" system.)
To Mac,
Thanks.
Better answerers in Philosophy.
Answer: Nope.
If your resources are bad, you simply cannot trust what you build. You cannot build a cathedral using mud and pigs. How 'well designed' it might be.
btw. Since PHP is inconsistent and pretty insecure and Windows is pretty insecure, I am pretty interested how applications on this combination of systems score...
Question: How about a genetically engineered propulsion system? A living moving organism? Could be activated to move, deactivated to stop. Fed water and sunlight?
Answer: plants cannot produce a satisfactory propulsive effect...if you included food i.e. an animal, I would be very interested to know what kind of 'genetically engineered' animal can move that fast!
Question: do you have an engineered septic system? I might have to get one too, eventually. How much did yours cost you? When was this and what state was it built in?
Answer: We have an aerobic system with three tanks, a compressor, a pump, chlorinator and a sprinkler system. It was installed in 1996 and cost $4,000 at the time.
It is very easy to take care of. It is inspected three times a year and we pump it about every 24 to 30 months. The air compressor that runs all the time, has been replaced once at a cost of about $500.
We have never had a odor problem with the system.
We think it is much better than a system that uses a leech field because you can get to all parts of the system and make repairs if needed. The sprinkler system is worked into the trees on one end of our lot and helps keep them watered.
We are in East Texas
Question: Is there a difference between IT(information technology) and System Engineering ? IF there is any difference, which one is better to study it at University ?!!?
Answer: terms like those are very variable, and can change a lot company to company or school to school.
My understanding of IT is that it is concerned with getting information to the employees of a company via PCs, networks, servers, and various software packages. It is usually responsible for a companies web site. It is an internal department that has no contact with costumers.
Systems engineering is a group that develops systems for sale by the company. They interface with design engineers who design the boards or modules in the system, but they are responsible for making the entire package perform as required.
Which one to study depends on your personal preferences.

Question: What the best laptop for computer system engineering? PC
MAC
ALIENWARE
Answer: Well, between PC or MAC i'd say PC since some of the software is unavailable in MAC that you may need. Alienware is just a brand! If you like alienware then get one! Just make sure the system has good specs.
Question: whats the different between 'electronic and computer system engineering' and 'computer system engineering'? whats the different between them? I am interested in something like making an electronic gadget and program it using the computer or something along that line.. is this the right course?
Answer: 'electronic and computer system engineering'
In most schools this means you learn how to design and program computers
'computer system engineering'
In most schools this means you learn how to program computers.
However, definitions vary school to school. Vheck each school's web site carefully before enrolling. Ask them questions.
As for the person who said the former is mainly analog appears to be vague on the subject. Electronics can be analog or digital. I design digital signal processors with analog inputs and outputs. Most electronics people today do both analog and digital.
Question: Who earns more, a Software Engineer or a System Administrator? and please explain why?
Answer: There are all sorts of technical schools turning out people with 2 year Associates Degrees in IT Admin. So they tend to earn much less than somebody with a 4 year BS in Computer Science.
It's all supply and demand.
Question: what is the system which no models of software engineering can include it? there is mony of software engineering models and there are many system include it can you know for me which system we couldnt but it under any one of them ?? help me please.
Answer: well ur question is not clear malak. anyway r u a modelling engineer?
Question: The central heating system makes a loud bang when the boiler fires up? It is a brand new system fitted about two weeks ago. An engineer has looked at it and did an alteration, although it does not do it every time now it is not completely rectified. What's the possible cause?
Answer: Delayed ignition, a service should sort it out, could be a partial blockage in the burner or ignition isn't sparking properly. Or the flue gas/air ratio isn't correct, a flue gas analizer is needed for this, and your installer may not have one, many don't, though they should have.
Question: IP engineer role or System Administrator/team leader role? I've working in the IT Support/Windows Administrator field for about 5 years. Recently I've been promoted to team leader role after been 2 years in the company.
Today, I was asked my senior engineer from network team if I'm interest in the IP Engieer role. I said yes, and I'm attending interview team manager tomorrow.
My question, is this role would be good for my career? I'm just a little scared as its a different field..
IP engineer role offers more $
Should I choose career or $?
Answer: It's hard for us to say which is better. I don't know the responsibilities of each and where it can lead. Often job titles that are the same can mean different things through different companies. On the face of it - "IP engineer" sounds better than the team lead role, but that's because it uses the word "engineer" (which is abused throughout the industry).
Normally you should choose job happiness over all other, unless you need the money. You may be doing this job for the next 5 years - if you don't like it, that'll be a long time.
Question: Will a knowledge in Computer System Technology benefit my in Computer engineering? I'm 16 and I'v decided that I want a career in engineering. So, I signed up for duel enrollment at this community college, it's called Computer System's technology, I know that this basically involves fixing computers however, I'm not sure if this will actually be a benefit to me when it comes to computer engineering.
Answer: I could totally be a dick right now but ill be nice :) There is a wide variety of types of computer engineers and if your gonna be 1 you definitely have to know your computer components and the basics of how they function and work if your going to do anything in the field of computers and people who work on setting up systems are basically engineers. Basically it comes down to what type of engineer in the computer industry do you want to be
Question: When a train engineer travels cross country how does he get back home? Is the system organized so that he engineers another train back home immediatly or does he have to wait and catch another train coming back home?
Answer: Ok, this is how it works. On railroads, sections of the railway are divided up into divisions and/or subdivisions/districts. There is a "home" terminal and an "away" terminal for those subs and districts. The home terminal is the originating terminal and the away is the terminal is the crews destination. Once the train gets to the away terminal, one crew gets off and another gets on. The crew that gets off, goes to the hotel for rest and gets called for another train after their hours of rest are up or whenever that next train gets there. They then begin their trip back to the home terminal. If time permits, they can turn back on the same day and get paid 2 days work in one day. Most subs and districts are divided up into about 100-300+ miles. The longest a crew can be on duty is 11:59 minutes, at 12 hours the train goes "on the law". Anything after that, as in sitting and waiting for a cab to come pick you up if you go on the law is overtime I believe. Once you get back to your home terminal you either have 8 hours of rest or 10 hours..depending on how long you were on duty for the return trip. I didn't explain this very well, but it can get confusing to those who don't know a great deal about railroads.
Question: Is it possible to genetically engineer an Eco-system in outer space ? And if know one has thought of it then i want the noble prize for thinking about it! Also could such an enginered system be free of parasitic DNA ?
I mean an eco system not requiring oxygen etc using different metabolic systems.
Well on earth if you belive in evolution (and i do) we evolved possibly from bits of bacteria and rna etc that feed of each other however if one could create a few different solar paneled creatures that could live of each other then there woldnt be any parasitic dna unless they where enginered, if they where created in sterile enviroment. Also they would need some kind of exo-skeleton to protect their dna from radiation.
Answer: Is it possible to build a city one molecule at a time? I suppose so, but then why would one do that rather than build it out of existing materials?
So to establish an ecosystem in outer space one only needs air, water, temperature control, soil, plants and animals. No genetic engineering needed. That is simple enough.
What is not simple is the container. Without a vessel to enclose the ingredients and spinning to simulate gravity, your eco system would not flourish. Small scale eco system experiments have been conducted in space - some by accident when germs and molds took up residence in our space stations (Skylab, MIR space station, International space station)
Question: What is the most logical constructed script / writing system? Do any engineered scripts / writing system exist, that is writing system that are designed to be as easy to write and read as possible?
Answer: Braille?
Question: If you were an engineer designing an air bag system, would you want the air bag to release vertically or horiz please add details
Answer: My first thought is horizontally, since that would distribute the deceleration forces more evenly and be less sensitive to the size of the passenger.
