Question: What are the requirements for someone get into the field of Weapons Design / Wep. Systems Engineering? I would like to know the educational and experience requirements for either job......And also If anyone can tell me about some good Universities / Colleges that would be great to get these requirements at. Thank You
Answer: Well usually the defense field looks for engineers with a strong background in engineering. I would highly recommend either doing Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering as they give you the cutting edge in this field. As such there are not many universities that offer Defense Engineering. However in England the university of Southampton is well known for it's injection of engineers into the defense field. Worth looking at. I myself just applied for Electromechanical Engineering there. Anyhow hope i helped. Don't hesitate to give best answer :-).
Question: System design engineering (university of waterloo) vs Mechatronics Engineering (mcmaster uniersity)? I've been accepted to university of waterloo and mcmaster university. I was wondering if anyone can give me an advice on which university is better. I also wanted to know the difference of system design engineering and mechatronics engineering on both university. Thanks.
I've been accepted to university of waterloo and mcmaster university. I was wondering if anyone can give me an advice on which university is better. I also wanted to know the difference between system design engineering and mechatronics engineering on both university. Thanks.
Answer: Mcmaster University is higher than Waterloo in engineering, I think system design engineering has a better work opportunities than mechatronics
Question: How can I know which major is better in which UC systems or Cal poly? like engineering or interior design? What are the info that can help me to choose the majors from UC system or where can I find the information? Like if I would like to take Engineering as my major and I have to choose from UC or Cal Poly, how can I compare? How can I know which U is good at which major? Thanks!
Answer: If you have a specific sub-field in mind, look at the professors specialties and see how many are aligned with your interests. If you want a generic read of how good a university is, check to see how well it is funded and what granting agencies are giving money (and how much) to which professors.
Question: Are there any free tools for electrical engineering design (EDA, power systems, embed.) for free for Windows? What is the best tool for electrical engineering design (EDA, power systems, embedded, etc.) available for free for Windows?
Answer: go to download.com they have tons of stuff for free for all aspects of the web especially engineering.
Question: It has been my dream to design plumbing systems for commercial buildings. What engineering is this?
Answer: we can do that in civil engineering...
i am a civil engineer...
Question: what is a physical data design under the system design in software engineering? i was assigned as a reporter about this matter i wanted to share some meaningful information to my classmates about software engineering.. my report would be about the physical data design under which are attribute analysis, selection of storage media, physical organization, review of physical data design which is according to our syllabus but i cant find information about them and i dont have any idea about these matters... could you please help me?
Answer: Data design is very useful when you want to create a database program. Data design is about analyzing the relationships of data. Most physical data design projects I created are about building a data dictionary, creating graphs like UML, sequential diagrams etc. and creating an ERD (Entity-Relationship Diagram).
Based on your situation, attribute analysis means what are the things that best described an entity. For an example, your entity is a tree and your attribute is tall. Selection of Storage media means some programs that can store data, for an example MS Access. MS Access is commonly used to gather data and is used to relate with other programming languages like Visual Basic. Physical Organization means a step-by-step way of relating datum from another datum. You can express the "Physical Organization" idea using an ERD (Entity-Relationship Diagram). (Please do make a research about it, if I write its whole definition, it could take time.).
The whole thing is about how to deal with data. Database is important, especially if you want your user to store some data.
Question: How do Software Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering differ? I'm currently doing my Bachelor of Engineering, but I couldn't decide whether to major in Software or Computer Systems.
The way I see it (from the electives subjects), Software Engineering focuses more on documentations (analysis, design, etc.) while Computer Systems Engineering is more towards circuitries and hardwares.
What are the significant differences between these two majors? For instance, job opportunities, versatility, etc. after graduation?
Could you drop some opinions and advices, especially people in the field? I'd really appreciate it.
Answer: Let say it simple. Computer systems engineers construct motherboard based in circuits and possibilities of the chipset installed on MB. According wit this they also programming simple program to initialize all basic functions of the CPU and chipset on MB and this program is saved in BIOS.Of course their first task is to develope and improve performances of this MB and installed chipset. Software engineers got only one task: to writte programs and applications wich will succesful working using all installed parts of some motherboard. More simple, computers system engineers create paths for digital sygnals but software engineers crete THIS SIGNALS. By my opinion, best job is of computer system engineers because this job is let say "multi-coloured" and job of software programmers is prety monotonius. Best Regards and veradisca! Neven.

Question: I am a little confused about japan I plan to move there 1 day so I need to know? I understand japan does not have an open immigration system and that i will need a working visa to work there but can i enter as a visitor get a job and ask them to sponsor me or do i need a solid job offer to enter i have this whole plan here it is
1. finish college with a bachelors degree or a masters in computer engineering and maybe game design
2. a year after finishing college get a plane ticket to japan , fly to tokyo, then board a train to kobe or kyoto( i cant decide kobe or kyoto which should i chose?)
3. find an affordable hotel to live in for 2-3 months while searching for a job if nesesary i will move
4. get my workplace to sponsor me for working visa
5. after living in japan for 10 years i will aply for a permanent resident visa
6. after settling down and becoming naturalized in japan start a family
note this is a long term plan and goal im 13 now
can someone help me with my question and point out any flaws in my plan that would be a great help thankyou
Answer: 1. Even if you have these degrees, you would need to be very good with the Japanese language, otherwise nobody will hire you.
2. Neither Kyoto or Kobe have a huge market for computer engineers. The Tokyo area always have tons of openings, and most company headquarters are located there.
3. Shouldn't be difficult.
4. Nearly impossible because sponsoring for a visa costs a lot for the employer, and most Japanese companies flat out doesn't employ foreigners. More than anything, it's hard to get a job without connections.
5. Contingent to #4
6. It'd be easier to get naturalized if you get married to a Japanese person first.
ALTERNATIVE PLAN
1. Before graduating from college, apply for the JET (Japan English Teaching) program.
This program is sponsored by the Japanese government, and they recruit bunch of foreigners as ALTs (assistant english teachers) in Japanese middle schools and high schools. They get to stay for a max of 3 years, get room & board and bunch of other benefits along with pay. It's a great way to make money while building connections in Japan.
2. While being on the JET program, you will have many opportunities to interact with various people (business persons, politicians, academics, etc). Use that opportunity to sell your skills. Help out with computer issues of locals and establish a reputation.
3. Find a Japanese person to marry with while you're on the JET program.
Your goal will be realized within 3 years!
Question: Why was Baxter’s Ukrainian lab in fact producing a bioweapon disguised as a vaccine? Professor Moshe had called into a live radio show by Dr. A. True Ott, (explanation of Joseph Moshe’s call at 06:00) broadcast on Republic Broadcasting claiming to be a microbiologist who wanted to supply evidence to a States Attorney regarding tainted H1N1 Swine flu vaccines being produced by Baxter BioPharma Solutions. He said that Baxter’s Ukrainian lab was in fact producing a bioweapon disguised as a vaccine. He claimed that the vaccine contained an adjuvant (additive) designed to weaken the immune system, and replicated RNA from the virus responsible for the 1918 pandemic Spanish flu, causing global sickness and mass death.
Sources tell us that Bar-Joseph Moshe made no threat against the President or the White House. He did not mention any bomb or attack. He then proceeded to inform the White House he intended to go public with this information. When he noticed men in suits in front of his house and feared that the FBI was about to detain him, he packed some belongings into his car and, him being a dual Israeli citizen, tried to reach the Israeli consulate located in close proximity to the federal building where the standoff took place. The FBI and the bomb squad prevented him from reaching it. Who is this man? His profile on biomedexperts.com says he is a plant disease expert with many publications on his name involving the genetic manipulation of virii. Photographic evidence that Moshe is who he says he is can be found here.
Joseph Moshe was soon after his arrest sent or let go to Israel. Nothing has been heard from him since. The Secret Service was not the agency involved in the surveillance of Moshe at his home in California. This was done by the FBI, who had orders to detain or arrest him. Mounted on top of a large black vehicle used in his arrest was a microwave weapon that possibly damaged the electronics in Moshe’s car as well as any communication devices he had which might have been used to contact the media or others who could help him.
Moshe did not suffer the same effects of the gas and pepper spray that others would have because he had built up an immunity to such weapons as a by-product of his Mossad training. Moshe was not handcuffed because he was not placed under arrest.
Does this sound like an insane conspiracy theory? Sure it does. Due to the scarcity and anonimity of the sources we would dismiss it as exactly that, if it weren’t for some uncomfortable facts: Baxter Pharmaceutical has been caught, red-handed, in spreading a live, genetically engineered H5N1 Bird flu vaccine as a lethal biological weapon all over the world, destined to be used for human vaccinations. This happened just a few months ago. And only luck prevented a global catastrophe of epic proportions.
Baxter International Inc. had mixed live, genetically engineered avian flue viruses in vaccine material shipped to 18 countries. Only by sheer luck, a Czech laboratory decided to test the vaccine on a dozen ferrets, which all died in days. The World Health Organization was notified and catastrophe was averted. This was clearly a deliberate act on Baxter’s part, because they adhere to BS3, bio-safety level three. Baxter admitted a “mistake”. Such monumental screwups are totally impossible at that level. Many safety systems would have needed to be sabotaged, many key personell would have needed to be bribed. It simply can’t be done without direction from the inside. They did not send out the wrong vial – they produced dozens of gallons of biological-weapon agent (genetically engineered live H5N1 / Bird flu virus), then sent it out as a “vaccine”.
Baxter knew full well that their vaccine was lethal, because the year before they had tested it on a few hundred homeless Polish people – dozens died as a result
Answer: Its a well known fact that inorder to produce a vaccine, you first need to make a disease....I think he was infact making a bioweapon.
Question: training in hydrogen fueling systems design and installation? I am an engineer in the petroleum industry. Interested in getting trained in Hydrogen infrastructure technology (pertaining to vehicle fueling). Where can I go to learn more. Just trying to stay ahead of the curve.
Answer: I dont know of any structured training offered by universities relating to this topic, since it is an emerging technology (if you are talking about hydrogen fuel cells and supporting infrastructure). I'm guessing the companies on the pioneering edge of this technology have in-house training on the topic since the process and designs would most likely be proprietary. Sorry, I really didnt help too much.
Question: What does it take to get an entry level Aerospace Engineering position? I've graduated from a Canadian University with an Aerospace Engineering degree with a specialization on space systems design in late 2006. After graduating, I continued on with a professor to expand my undergraduate thesis in attitude dynamics and control.
I couldn't find work that actually paid enough to pay the bills so I had to settle for working with the first opportunity that came by, in the mechanical/construction industry.
I've had it with working in an industry that's just plain boring and repetitious. I'm looking for an opportunity within the aerospace industry, an industry that I'm passionate about.
What are companies are looking for recently graduated aerospace engineers (Engineer-In-Training)?
What does it take to get in?
Do I really need to know someone who works in the industry to get my desired job?
All tips and advice would be greatly appreciated...
Answer: There are no jobs in Canada except for Bombardier or Spar. Instead, look for US jobs on www.monster.com. Don't worry about a visa. You qualify for a TN visa. Good for 3 years at a shot and they are granted instantly at the border for $56.00.
The only catch is that 2/3 of the jobs require US citizenship.
I am a Canadian engineer working in LA legally. First on TN visas. Got an H-1B and now have a green card in process.
I even got asked to work on the Apache gunships and was told they were so desperate they would also accept Canadians and Australians for this job as they needed my specialty so badly.
I didn't want to do it so I just told the Army guys how to fix their problem and went back to designing professional sound equipment.

Question: I need help in designing a temperature and humidity controlled chamber.? I have a metal chamber that is 43in x 29in (32in tall), where the bottom is covered with about 3in of sand to grow bacteria. I want to be able to control temperature (5-50C) and humidity (10-90%), and I need help in designing the system. I would also like to be able to cycle the changes throughout the day to mimic day/night conditions, e.g. low T high H at night, high T low H during the day.
Secondly, I need to have some UV lamps (UVA & UVB) in there, to approximate the effect of the sun since UV plays a role in bacterial growth.
Nothing needs to be precise, I’m just trying to replicate growing conditions in the desert. And I don’t have the budget to buy a fancy chamber, so I’m looking for a solution that I can throw together. If the unit(s) is small enough, it can live inside the chamber, otherwise I can set it outside.
My engineering training is more theoretical, so I have no experience in basic design/equipment.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Answer: Perhaps the easiest way to do this would be with a board installed in a computer, such as a Lab PC from National Instruments. You can then input the temperature and humidity from sensors in the oven as a feedback loop, and use the outputs from the Lab PC card to control heating elements and the injection of moisture if necessary.
You will also need a source of dry air or dessicating stacks to remove moisture, some sort of internal or external heating elements, which could include IR lamps or restive heaters, and some method to cool the air.
If youare going down to 5 degrees C, you will need something more than radiaive cooling for your system, and will need to provide an actual cooling system which usually means a compressor type system with a refrigerant.
The Lab PC board is quite versatile and allows for multiple outputs to enable the various elements that you are talking about. You'll need to come up with the various algorithms to control slope and such, but these can be found in various places as well.
If you need help, give me a yell via email; I've worked with such systems for a number of years.
Question: PLC/SCADA System Design - where will the jobs be? Hi,
I am a "Controls" Engineer from Canada, currently working in the nuclear industry designing "tools" for nuclear maintenance.
I am wondering about the market for someone with my skill set: PLC/SCADA/Electrical system design....
With manufacturing dying in Canada, where will the jobs be? Some other countries? Nuclear is a great sector to be in for now, but for how long? And given that I'm just an "electrical" guy and not a nuclear guy, I'm pretty expendable.
So where do I go from here? Should I go back to school and get training in something else? MBA? Law? Physiotherapy? Advanced Engineering degree?
I mean I like my job, but it's not a passion, and I am worried about the future.
I have been working for four years now, and feel like I'm at a fork in the road and need to make a decision whether to continue on in this career or move on to something else...
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Answer: You will be headed to a job with the federal government, Microsoft, or one of the big road building firms..

Question: Gear system design help? Our Engineering professor is NUTTS. On 1000 level, he is giving us these problems. I can't figure it out for the life of mine and need some professional help. god will bless you if you can solve this one for me.
He asked out class to design a simply winch & cart system. Motor is like extremely small, i think something like 4.5 volt, and then the cart with weight is like 1.5 KG. We have to come up with most effective gear design to pull the cart.
Here's original questions
"One source of friction created by the gear box arises from friction between the gears themselves. A)
Create a table showing the percentage of power lost for a single pinion-spur gear power train like the one shown in the picture above. Select a range of reasonable spur gear and pinion gear outer diameters. Select
a reasonable value for gear tooth height, and locate a reasonable friction coefficient based on the gear materials. For the pressure angle use 20°, a typical value for industrial gears. Please show a sample calculation demonstrating how you found one of the values on the table. B) Describe in a sentence or two how selection of gear ratio impacts the efficiency of the gear box. C) Based on your findings from Questions 1 and 2 of this P-Set, describe in a sentence or two what is the best gear ratio selection for the winch-and-cart system.
I see this question mentions something like question 1. Here is it
"In physics, engineering statics, and engineering dynamics, the so-called “free body diagram” method is utilized as a book-keeping tool to track forces acting on objects at rest and in motion. Consider a situation in which a student builds a winch-and-cart system without a gear box. When the student turns on the lamp to illuminate the solar panel, the motor is not powerful enough to move the cart. A) Write the equations of motion [or lack of motion] governing systems in static equilibrium. B) Draw a free body diagram showing all the forces on the cart. C) Draw a free body diagram showing all the forces on the winch. D) What condition is necessary to cause the cart to begin moving? E) What condition is necessary to prevent the winch from slipping along the floor as it attempts to pull the cart?"
Answer:
I wish i could help you, but i guess this type of problems is found intensively in machine design books. You may read the solved examples on the relevant chapter (as i usually do) then you'll find everything a piece of cake !
Good Luck,
Question: Electrical Engineering...? See, I want to learn Electrical Engineering with software. However, I also want to be able to do the work of an electrician. (What can I say? I'm a DIY kind of person)
If I was to get a degree in Electrical Engineering, how long would it take me to learn the electrician trade? I know it's not as difficult as engineering, but would I have to go through all the training courses if I can already design the electrical systems?
Answer: Yes, usually. Most colleges would give you credit for the math courses though. You'd still need to do the practical courses and apprentice time to become a journeyman electrician.
Question: Graduate school with reputed Engineering and Design departments? Hi,
Im applying for graduate school in the US, fall 07 and am currently shortlisting schools to apply to. I am looking to get a masters degree in Embedded Systems. However I also want to take some courses in Product Design. So I am looking for schools with both a reputed Engineering school as well as a good Design school. Any suggestions?
Answer: Berkeley allows you to enter the "management of technology" program if you are an engineering graduate student. There are design classes in the curriculum, but all of the classes are about designing from a manager's or engineer's perspective. There weren't any Product Design classes for the designer if that is what you are looking for.
Hardcore Product Design schools are extremely rigorous. You have to learn how to draw very well. My roommate use to be at the Pasadena Art Center and it seems like he was drawing almost 24 hours a day. I think from the art school's perspective, they want their students to focus on product design exclusively.
If you want to dabble in product design, I would say most top engineering schools like MIT, Berkeley, Stanford have some sort of Product Design class but more from a management point of view. The product designers are truly specialized and the best come from specialized art schools like Pasadena Art Center.
Question: Im an engineering student and im trying to design a release system for a hot wheels drag racing track. Ideas? we have a design project that where we need to design a release system that will release a hot wheels car and it has to have a switch to tell when the car leaves and tell if it went before the light turned green or not. does anyone have any ideas?!
Answer: There are many ways to accomplish this.
If you are allowed to modify the track, you can use a solenoid mounted below the track with the pin sticking out of a small hole in the track. When the solenoid is energized, the pin retracts towards the coil causing the pin to drop below the track and allowing the car to move. Since the solenoid is spring loaded, it will return to the proper position upon releasing the switch.
The same principle may be applied by placing the solenoid to the side of the track and having the pin stick out across the track. When the pin is retracted, it clears the track and the car is released.
The energization of the solenoid will also act as the switch, indicating that the car has been released.
Finally, power from the tree can provide power to the switch which controls the solenoid. So only when the tree is active, can the solenoid be active.
The output of the green led from the tree can be used to trigger a one-shot. The output of the one shot can trigger the clock of a gated D latch. The latch will latch the state of the D input, which would be the condition of the solenoid switch.
If the person has started too soon, the D will be high and the output will be set, which can drive the fault led. If they have not started yet, the D will be low and the output will be clear.
Question: What do you think of this Design Project for Computer Engineering? I am planning to propose a project about seatbelt implementation using RFID and microcontrollers. The system will detect if the driver or passengers are wearing seatbelt and if not then the vehicle will not move(which I am still thinking of ways to stop a car from moving).
What do you think of this? Any suggestions or comments please.
And can you provide me a good title for this project?
Answer: All cars have sensors to detect if a seatbelt is connected.
Some also will slowdown/stop/not move if it isn't connected.
But that sounds like a pretty cool project. The easiest way to get the car to stop moving would be to have a microcontroller send a code to the car's ECU to slow down it's RPM. How to do this? Depends on the type of care, microcontroller, language, and the type of ECU.
Question: Engineering Design Problem? I am supposed to make a list of products and systems that you believe would be necessary for life on the moon for my Engineering design class. The problem is- I have no idea where to even begin. Can someone please give me an idea of what the question is talking about and maybe some sample answers?
It is a very broad question and I'm not quite sure how to answer it.
Thanks!
Answer: robot droid, laser space gun, etc....
Question: Can anyone suggest a good system to design for us students in the field of computer engineering?
Answer: A program which will stop or filter out those annoying TV pop-ups. I hate it when I am watching a show, and the station pops up an ad for another show on that station.
A big money maker would be a program which makes wheels on cars appear to roll foreword instead of backward on film and video.
Question: can the cadd and autocadd systems be used in civil engineering? i've been in school for quite sometime learning about engineering graphics with the cadd and autocadd systems. i want more than an associate's degree in it, so i'm going to continue to a bachelor's degree in engineering and civil engineering caught my eye. i read it includes the designing of many objects in that field. so is it possible i can use my knowlege in engineering graphics in civil engineering?
Answer: First its CAD, not cadd. A little off subject but important.
Also, yes civil's tend to do a little bit of CAD, especially when using FEA (finite element analysis) programs such as ABAQUS to asses their designs. Engineering is much more than CAD, however. Engineers are problem solvers, and use their abilities in math and physics much more often than they use CAD skills, especially design engineers. If you want to have a career in CAD, be a drafter. If you want to be an engineer, go for it! Its the best career out there.

your tech skills look good, how about your communication skills. they can get an engineer who has tech skills, well, at any tech school. but if you communicate WELL, write well, analyze well, THAT is rare in an engineer, and they will probably fight over you.
analysis skills? Ability to create and analyze an experiment? What about statistics and probability?
although you say Microsoft Office, and I think that includes the spreadsheet and Powerpoint applications, it wouldn't hurt to call those 2 out especially. Most engineers spend a ton of time in spreadsheets and presentations.
Have you been in engineering long enough to have done projects? you know, not a test, but a project, like making a robot have vision? for that matter, have you built or programmed a robot on your own, as a hobby?

Question: for product design engineering. should i buy a graphics computer or a laptop? i wana get my sister a new laptop or computer with a budget of $2000. she just got into product designing engineering and probably be using autocad and stuff. just wanting to know, i have at home a p4 3.4ghz computer with 2gb ram and 512mb graphics card, is this sufficient enough for her course? or would i be needing a full system upgrade? other than that, would the laptop be more advantageous for her than a new computer keeping in mind i can get a laptop for half price through the government rebate? cheers.
Answer: Laptops and PCs have really come a long way and you can find a great laptop with the capacity you need for what she will be doing, especially with a budget as lenient as yours.
The 2008 average for a mainstream 15-inch laptop is probably close to a 2-2.5GHz dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM and a few hundred gigs of hard drive space. You can find ones with 4GB as well, or even buy the extra memory separate and install it. I just upgraded my memory and it was quite easy.

Question: why thermal effect should be considered in designing the engineering system?
Answer: Because your engineered system needs to operate in the real world, and not just on your desktop.
- Simple weather conditions such as temperature changes and humidity can cause condensation that may have adverse affects on your system.
- Different materials in the system will expand and contract at different rates. Gaskets and seals are often used to account for the changes. Will your system hold together over time?
- Does your system generate heat? Will it be able to dissipate enough heat to maintain reliable operation?
- Users of your system will be looking for guidance on where it can be operated? What are the acceptable operating temperatures for your system? For example: Antarctica, Iraq, and the Amazon jungle have far difference climate conditions.
Question: electrical engineering exam test? i have been asked to design an engineering system that monitors and records the light level at different points on a worksurface, such as a table,( there is a source of light above). the object of it could be to find out how much light from a table lamp varies accross a table.
The intensity of light is to be recorded in at least eight positions in a straight line 50cm long on a table top
the light intensity needs to be recorded electronically and somehow linked to a computer-any designs or tech help
cheers guys
Answer: So basically you need 8 light sensors (or one moving on) and a piece of hardware which can read the output of these sensors and record it.
two ideas: Lego Mindstorms! I'm pretty sure that the kit has light sensors and can be hacked to send data to a pc
or you can find a data aquisition system like LabView and buy light sensors
or if you are really savvy try arduino
Question: The study of computer engineering? Since I was young, I've always had a thing for figuring out how things work and what can I do to make them work optimally. I am decent in math, very good in algebra, and love science, physics, and biology. I have always been attracted to computers. I've built several optimal computers but it never seems enough. I mean, building computers from parts made by different companies with certain limits, I want to be able to optimize every aspect of the computer, whether the graphics card, cpu, ram or chipset. I believe I have what it takes to become an engineer.
WELL, anyways
I am starting up my path to engineering. Since I didnt enroll into college immediately after high school, I will be attending an accredited community college first.
I am shooting to transfer to the University of California to work on a B.S in Computer Engineering.
What I am wondering is, what are good courses to study in community college to put me on a good path to an engineering degree? My school offers engineering introduction courses such as computer aided design, engineering drawing, digital systems, electrical circuits, etc... and computer and info science courses. Should I go for the engineer courses or the computer and info science courses?
Answer: since computer is your passion we think u ought to stick to computers. this will give a more solid foundation. and with your creativity u may invent something great. all the best

Question: How can I make some money doing Mechanical Professional Engineering side jobs? CAD, permit reviews, pipe design, power system design reviews, drawing reveiws, etc.? Any ideas?
Answer: Start by making a formal business (corp. or LLC). Get a bank account, print business cards, get insurance, etc.
Do you have any special areas of expertise within mechanical engineering? If so emphasize those. Find a niche that needs to be filled.
Look at job postings for corp-to-corp contracts and ask if you can do it part time. Contact all your old co-workers and hand them a card, let them know you are in business. Adverstise (put up a web site).
Don't expect to get a flood of jobs right away, but persistence will eventually pay off (assuming you consistently do a good job).
Question: Electronic Engineering area of specialization? which area of specialization is good for my future?
• Instrumentation and Control
• Computer System Engineering
• Micro Electronics
• Communications Systems
• Power System Engineering
im confused rite now.. i dun know what shud i take in order to secure a good and better future. but anyways, i do love to design computer and other electronic devices.. is micro-elecronic suits me? or computer system engineering?
Answer: From my opinion, your decision should e pegged on two factors; the country you reside in and you sixth sense.
For example, at the moment a country like Nigeria currently has one of the worlds fastest growing telecommunications sector. Hence, in that particular country there might be a need for engineers specializing in telecommunications in the foreseeable future.
Then again, it is very important to do what your heart desires. Trust me, the love of your job is very important
Question: which engineering creates and designs satellites and radar systems???
Answer: Several different disciplines are involved. Electrical with the circuitry, mechanical with the structure, computer for the programming, and materials for the composition of the different pieces used. There are probably more......
Question: What do you think of thses classes, software engineering, discrete mathematics, operating systems and ........ computer organization and design? especially taken all at once? hard, crazy?
one other question, I know it's not very related to my first one but I'm just curious :D
do you think majoring in biology would be easier than taking these subjects all at once? would biology require less studying?
Answer: They're not that hard if you are intrested in the subject.
Biology, while not requiring as much problem solving skills as CS/CE/SE, will require long and painful labs.
Question: What do you know about architecture design in "System analysis & design"? Details about computing architectures, infrastructure design, global issues and security. It is a part of design phase in "System Analysis & Design" or say "Software Engineering".
Answer: Not at all, in fact system analysis & designs is about the design of a software product - a system, by the point of view of the user.
The system analisis, specially is about gathering, as accurate as posible, the requirements of final users, and document those requirements, in order to give enougth information for the developers.
This is the core of the system business, i can tell you that in this phase resides the success of a software project, because you have to be capable of listen and understand how the user want it to function, how the user want to see the data, the volume of the data, the periodicity, many details.
The desing is the phase, after you have gathered all of the information about the users needs, you have to design the database structures, screens, reports, etc.
Software Engineering, also includes the phase of develop, test, and mainteinance of software. There are diferent ways, and phases, depending on the size of the project, and the type of it.
Question: difference between 'computer engineering' and 'computer systems engineering'? some websites says that they are the same.. others says that they are different.. so i'm confuse now.. which one is a combination of designing/making electronic device and programming it to work?
Answer: both are same .... both employ a course named microprocessor which involves designing/making of electronic device and programming it to work ...
Question: Computer Electronic Engineering or Information Systems? I am currently attending ECPI- College of Technology. I started in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Electronic Engineering Technology program. After getting started, I feel that this program is more geared towards the actual design and development of electronic equipment. I am wanting a career where I build and fix computer systems, build networks, diagnose hardware and software problems, build websites, etc. ECPI offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. Is this program geared more towards what I am wanting to do? ECPI also allows me to study for and obtain my industry certifications as part of my program. (Serious answers only)
Answer: I believe you are in the right program - Computer engineering.
I think the reason why they want you to learn about development and design is because the industry is in constant flux. Components and technology is constantly upgrading. Once you understand the component designs, then you can move up to building and diagnosing hardware problems.

Ich denke, dass es ziemlich richtig ist. Ich habe keinen besonderen Fehler gesehen.
Question: Are topics such as electromagnetics or electric fields crucial to all careers in electrical engineering? I'm considering going to school for electrical engineering, but would prefer to avoid these areas in my daily work after I graduate. If I entered a field such as control systems or general electronic design, would I encounter a great deal of interaction with these areas?
Answer: Absolutely. These things are at the core of all physical science. They can be a little intimidating at first, but most people can learn E&M if they put their nose to the grindstone for a while. It's mostly just geometry, after you grasp the idea of where things fit together.
Question: Who is a good earthquake engineering firm for designing a house in the San Fran Bay area? I'm interested in having a house designed that is very earthquake resistant. Instead of the normal reinforced cripple wall for the foundation, I'm looking for a firm that could design a base isolation system for a residence.
Answer: definitely NOT sand castles-r-us!
Question: explain the design of water distribution systems and urban drainage infrastructure assets? for civil engineering subject
Answer: In 25 words or less?
And you are asking this in the Economics section of Yahoo Answers rather than the Engineering section?
I begin to understand why you have to ask.
1. Courses on the subject are at the graduate level - the design of real systems is too complex to be handled at the undergrad level.
2. There have been a number of books written explicitly for lay people, on these and similar structures (such a sewage systems)
3. Have you tried doing a web search? One for "water distribution systems" gave me such first page results as:

Question: how do i get someone to help me bring my flying automobile to birth? how do i get help?Am david, i studied power system engineering. I designed a flying automobile but i need to build it but i can'
Answer: Flying automobiles have been around since the 1940's. None of them have ever been financially successful, and as long as a pilot's license is required to get off the ground, none of them ever will be.
Good luck
Question: University of Phoenix BA in software engineering a scam? o_O? This is a list of courses they have for a BACHELORS degree in software engineering. Isn't this a huge ripoff compared to what you learn at other places? It looks like they don't teach you anything except a bunch of general knowledge stuff. Why are institutions like this allowed to exist? O_o

Answer: You are correct. UoP classes are very overpriced in comparison to regular non-profit universities and the degrees from this for-profit school are seldom respected. Investigate opportunities which may be available at your state university.
