Question: I 'm a Field Supervisor for an Insurance Inspection Company. What kind of employer will want this on a resume? Title says it all.
I'm a supervisor for a region of 5 states. I supervise over 100 inspectors. Some of my duties include making sure inspectors meet the turn-time requirements, quality control, daily q+a/troubleshooting, etc. Things like that.
I want a security blanket though, just in case for some reason I lost my job, the company shut down, etc.
What kind of job will this "crossover" with? If not crossover, what kind of company will seek someone with my cridentials, insurance business or not?
Thanks.
Answer: I went from where you're currently at about 20 years ago to a loss control representative for an insurance carrier. It would be helpful if you have either a 4-year degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years), along with a designation or 2 (CSP, ARM, OHST, etc.)
Good luck, it will be a major change being responsible for only your screw-ups instead of 100 peoples' screw-ups.
Question: if you are the field security guards supervisor, how will you handle difficult security guards?
Answer: Depends on the level of difficutly.
Your company should have various policies in place already.
First out you drag that person into your office, have a talk and all of that. That way to other employees you look fair and even. You gave the guy a chance so that negates whatever bull he might be saying about you.
After that it is documentation time as that covers the company legally. You have to talk to him again he signs a writeup.... or loses his job. Usually that is enough and you still look like you gave him a chance. The other guys who are doing well will be putting the onus on you and not him. It was his choice to screw up.
If he is one minute late or does anything write him up. That way when you fire him the company does not have to contribute to unemployment nor can he sue for anything.
If he is really pissing you off just fire him. Sometimes just doing that gives a message to the rest of the employees. If you have a boss clear all of this with him first. If this is difficult he might just fire him or law down the law.
Question: What would a Supervisor Employee Number look like in a data table? So if the field name was Supervisor EmpNum what would its field values look like? Does it have both a text and number or just a number?
Answer: huh?
Question: How do I get a job in the social service/non-profit field? I want a job in the social service/non-profit field. The job could be childcare worker, counselor, overnight supervisor, aide or ??? I expect a pay cut from my current job but all that matters to me is that it pays at least $10/hr, 40hrs a week and offers benefits. I have a BA but not in psychology, social work or etc. I do plan to go back to school in a year or two. I don't have any related work experience. I have volunteer experience working with seniors, teens, child, homeless and people with illness. I have looked in newspapers and online. I have sent 11 resumes to different places. Only a few have responded. Except for one they say that I don't have any experience or education. Where do I look for a job? What do I say in my CL, resume or interview to show that I really want this job, am capable and etc. Is it possible to jump fields with no education or work experience?
Answer: 1) Sending out 11 resumes is actually not that many so don't give up yet.
2) You will want to highlight in your resume and cover letter the people skills you have (communication, leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution).
3) You want to start volunteering (try big brother/sister or similar area).
4) Expand the areas you are looking in (consider gerontology work - this is a growing area).
5) You may have to consider PRN (as needed to work in ) this will not have benefits but might be overnight so you could work two jobs until a full time position opens up.
6) Consider including in your resume things you have done in the past such as camp counselor, youth minister, sunday school, tutor, peer mentor, etc.
7) Consider taking a job as an administrative assistant in an organization you would want to work on the human side of things..once you are in..see if you can do some shadowing and traing and get to know people who do the hiring. Volunteer in the organization and when an entry level position opens up...apply.
It is possible to get into the field with little or no experience, but it will take longer and you will start lower (both in position and probably pay.). DA
Question: What type of employer would want a "former" supervisor for an insurance company? I need to get out of the Insurance Field. I have grown to hate it in only two years.
I'm currently a Supervisor for a region, managing over 100 people.
What other occupation would this "crossover" with? I'm ready to start sending out resumes.
Answer: If you managed sales people, you could go into almost any profession. A retail company that has many locatons would be interested in someone with wide management skills. A lot has to do with what you did as a supervisor. Did you manage the employees such as hiring, firing, performance reviews, coaching, training, professional development. Did you sell as well or just supervise others or the deals?
Question: What will a theft misdemeanor conviction do to my desire to pursue a career change in the accounting field? I've just completed my court hearings and have been convicted of misdemeanor theft ($300). It cost me my job, but I've been able to secure a new job (Warehouse Supervisor) days before the conviction. I desire a career change in the accounting field which would require that I return to school. Before enrolling, will this conviction prevent me form obtaining a job in this field? I understand it would in the banking industry but am unsure about accounting.
Answer: Any job that you apply for asks if you've ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. Accounting especially - because of the scandalous opportunities that are out there. You're going to have to prove yourself worthy first before going into accounting. If you don't admit that you received this convction on your applications and people find out after you get the job, consequences could be a lot worse - employers talk to each other - your name could become mudd.

Question: how can you ace an interview for a supervisor position in the field of cable television? i am interviewing for a supervisor postion and i need help. there will be 6 vip's sitting in on the interview and i'm already freezing up. i work for a cable company and have been with them 3 years and feel that i am going into this interview unprepared and very nervous. alot of personal questions will be asked. ie: why did you apply, what are your 3 greatest strengths, how do you feel about unions, what makes you better than the other candidates, what are your weak points and how have you overcome them, you have been here 3 yrs so why would someone with 20 yrs experience listen to you. please help if you can, thanx
Answer: First of all, you need to have confidence that you can do the job. The VIP's are looking for someone that is honest, loyal, trustworthy, responsible, and most of all, able to do the job. As for the personal questions, you should know the answer to them before you apply for any job. Any lastly, why would anyone with 20 years experience listen to you? Because the decision is ultimately in your lap. The responsibility is yours, regardless if it goes good or bad. The best trait of a leader is the ability to listen to all input ,regardless if it comes from the president of the company or the janitor, and make the decision accordingly. It has very little to do with age. Also, if you don't know the answer to a question, tell them you don't know it, but will research it and find out. Good luck. And remember, Thomas Edison failed more than 10,000 times in his life, and we all remember him.
Question: I'm have an interview for a "suite" or "gameday" supervisor with Aramark for Heinz Field and...? I'd like to know if anyone can tell me a little bit more about the position. It's actually a position with Aramark who is Heinz Field's food and beverage provider. The position I applied for is the gameday or "suite" supervisor. The recruiter would like me to come interview this week but I don't have a car and it's almost 2 hours away so I'd like to know more about it before I find a ride and make the trip. I emailed her but have not heard back yet. I just graduated with my BA in communication from Pitt, and though this job would be a lot of fun I'm sure, I want to make sure it's worth my while, AND that I'd be making enough to support myself in Pittsburgh. Of course the job is seasonal (with the college and professional football season), so I was thinking that getting this job could "get my foot in the door" with the city and I could look for a permanent job while I'm down there. What do you think I could expect to make in this position? What exactly does it entail?
Thanks for any input!
Answer: If it's anything like the Texans and Raiders suites (where I have attended) you will manage a small crew and oversee every need to the people in those suites while managing them in the food, liquor and service areas of their jobs. Likely you would be one of many managers to lower the overall size of responsibility and keep you focused on smaller groupings to allow for more interaction as needed. Consider yourself as more of a director/concierge as every question those of us in suite have and issue that arises are coming to you first.
Certainly there is more to it, but that is all that I have seen from my vantage point as I'm just there because my boss pays for everything.
Question: Anyone have experience in the past as a Cenus Supervisor? I'm just wondering what the responsiblities are of the census supervisor. Do supervisors do a lot of field work or is it mostly managing a group of workers who go into the field? I was offered a supervisor's position and the recruiter skimmed over the job but I would like to hear from someone who has done it or has knowledge of it. Thanks!
Answer: I know of someone that does it, and they just account for all of the census takes below them, a group of them in an area. You have to make sure they're doing their jobs and reporting the info back to you.
Question: Husband is supervisor to a female and she has a problem every day for him to deal with? My husband is a supervisor to woman that is working in a male dominated field and she has a problem every other day that he somehow has to fix...she calls and texts him all the time. She has a boyfriend that is a co-worker she dated a married man before and seems to be the center of attraction to all the guys. He is very defensive and says that im insecure really?
Answer: Maybe you are insecure! Just because she is the only woman there doesn't mean she's a threat to your marriage. You should feel secure in your marriage and if you dont its because of your husband NOT her!
Sheloves_dablues is getting worse and worse with her advice....
Actually he's a supervisor meaning he has responsibilities and his job may carry over into his personal time. So yes she may need to text work related things after hours.
Question: Looking to get back into the security field. Is the OPOTC (Ohio) important? I have about three years experience in a corporate security setting, with experience as an assistant supervisor. I want to get back into the field of security, but with higher pay, and perhaps an armed position. I've seen a lot of reference to Ohio Peace Officer Training Council certification. Should I get this certificate? How important is it? How easy is it to obtain? How do I go about obtaining one?
@Mr. Goodhi
Well thanks for answering, but my question refers to private security, not police. I guess all those years on the force didn't teach you to pay attention to detail.
Answer: Yes you should get it if you want to be a cop.
Question: Previously worked as Escrow Closing Supervisor & in R.E. Finance; Paralegal field a logical next career?
... for a person like me, with lots of experience but is basically facing long-term unemployment due to the economy, etc. ?? I live in Northern Illinois, greater Chicago area...
Answer: Its been a very interesting field for me, but I stay as a freelance Paralegal with committment to no one certain attorney or field. Variety in this field is great and easy to obtain. Paralegals are needed everywhere and states have different powers for Paralegals as to appearing with cases in courts in your area. Good choice and luck
Question: I am a call center front-line supervisor. How do I take my supervisor exp. (5 years) and enter a new industry? I have need of a change. I am a great supervisor, coaching my team to succeed in a metric driven enviornment but I am burning out. How do I make the jump to a new field.
Answer: First of all, you need to be more specific in what field you are job searching.
Then, instead of using terms in your resume that are specific to call centers, use more generic terms and describe your leadership style, including conflict resolution skills, and specific examples of how you've led a team to accomplish (and exceed) stated goals from upper level management.
Be sure to include any training, in house or through seminars/college classes, etc, that you've had to maintain your skill set - even if it's just a weekend computer class.
And, remember, it's easier to find a job when you're already employed than to find a job when you're unemployed.
Question: Can I use my MBA in the field of healthcare? I have heard that healthcare is going to be one of the largest job growth sectors moving forward. I am about to complete my MBA, and I am wondering how (or if) I can use it to break into the healthcare field?
I have been a teacher for several years, but I'd like to change careers. Years ago, I worked at a mutual fund company, but never as a manager or supervisor.
Any thoughts?
Answer: Health care is a business. MBAs supposedly know how to manage businesses so it stands to reason that your degree would be useful in the health care field.
You should make a list of all of the businesses that are included in the health care industry, such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, large doctors' offices, testing laboratories, insurance companies, medical equipment companies, drug companies, etc. Decide which of these are best suited to your background and begin looking for opportunities.
In the meantime, you should familiarize yourself with the health care industry--read periodicals, talk to people in the industry, join health care-related organizations, etc. The best way to get a job is through a referral so cultivate people in the industry who can recommend you for open positions that are suited to your background. Also, consider non-profit organizations, which include many major hospitals.
You are correct that health care is a major growth industry. That is one industry that is currently hiring people in spite of the recession.
Be agressive, be positive and good luck!
Question: Where can I go to get answers about employment fair practice issues? My employer has threatened to fire me if I don't give him a weekly report on what I do on a daily basis. He knows I am on job sites all day or in the office tending paperwork issues. He has not asked this report of anyone else but me. None of the guys have been asked for a weekly report. I am the only female other than a Field Supervisor who is on this job and she is not requested to do any progress reports. Out of 54 employees I am the only one who he has doing this. Is this a fair practice? Is he picking on me? Is this legal? Lots of questions go through my head. He does not treat the women in this office as fair as he does the men.
Answer: Your best bet would be to start with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). They are a federal agency that handles complaints regarding discriminatory practices of employers. Asking for a weekly report on your daily activities, IMHO, is a fair practice by an employer. The employer may simply wish to know "what you're up to" and measure your productivity. I find that you being the only person asked to prepare a weekly productivity report a little suspect, however. Before questioning the legality of the issue, you should first talk with your immediate supervisor and ask why you are the only one being asked to prepare a weekly report of your daily activities when others do not. Give him a chance to clearly explain his reasoning. If his answer is not satisfactory, then your next step should be to discuss the issue with your human resource department. Hopefully, a solution can be addressed before considering legal action. Good luck....
Question: Does anyone have advise for a interview for a supervisor position? I have a interview for a supervisor position this Thursday, but I dont have any supervisory skills. It's a position in child welfare, and I have been working in the field since 2005 but never as a supervisior. Can anyone give me advise for the interview? This will be my first interview for a supervisior postion and I'm kind of nervous...please help!!
Answer: Congratulations on the upcoming interview!
1) You mention you have no supervisory experience in child welfare, but what about in your life? Do you have kids? If so, trust me, you have supervisory experience. Managing people in your personal life (particularly your children) Takes a lot of skill and the talents you use to accomplish this are the same talents you’d use in the world of work. In other words, we’re talking about “transferable skills”. BTW: It seems to me that if you’re a caseworker, you’re supervising case loads all the time.
2) Having no skills in this field as a supervisor means that you would come into this position with no bad habits. You are highly trainable. That is a plus. Let it be known that you are open to learning and growing on the job and that doing an excellent job as a supervisor would be of paramount importance to you.
3) Ask them what they’re looking for in a supervisor. They may say experience, but it’s more than likely that they’ll tell you they’re looking for someone who is just, who listens and observes well, who will stay on top of the issues at hand with her people.
Good luck! I’d love to know how it works out for you.

Question: Supervisor Harassment on Minors in the work field!? My sister is 17. She goes to school and works. She was called a Slut on her break by her forty some odd General Manager (Ray) @ Village Inn located in Cheyenne WY. Her 18 year old Co-worker Heather at the time 17 was called a Cunt in front of customers and Co-workers. Her 16 year old Co-worker Lakota called a slut in front of Co-workers and customers as well. Our younger generation does not know when to stand up for them selves when all they get in return is Sexual Harassment especially when they have not experienced it! Who should I contact first to start a case?
Answer: You do not contact anyone except your sister.
Your sister contacts her attorney and wins the first case in her young life.
Question: I was told by Morris Jenkins that my AC compressor is starting to go bad. Is there a way that I can confirm? On 4/5/2007, I had a new evaporator coil 13 seer installed on a system where it was originally a 10 seer. A hard start kit was placed on the outside unit. The e-coil is in my attic. The outside unit started making a dreadful noise a couple of weeks ago. Morris Jenkins came back and said that the hard start kit was bad and replaced it for free. However, I heard the technician in my attic talking to a field supervisor blasting them because someone did not install that kit properly. he never said this to me and did not document it in writing. He just documented that the hard start kit was bad. Then he said that the compressor is starting to go bad as well. I think the bad installation had something to do with it. I just heard the AC come on and could hear that same noise. Maybe it is the compressor. What signs are there when a compressor goes bad? I do not want to pay MJ $2m150 to install a new compressor. But I think I will have to get one soon.
Answer: First of all, an evaporator coil should not be replaced without a matching condensing unit. 13 seer is only good with matching equipment. Did the total BTU of the coil match with your existing condenser? Possibly not, due to the age difference in equipment. A improperly installed hard start kit can affect the compressor as it can cause "refrigerant slugging" that is harmful to the compressor.
In short, replace the compressor to match the evaporator coil and the seer will improve by at least 3 or 4.
Question: How to get supervisor or management experience? I am currently in school and work a full time job in my field of study. I am looking to the future and all of the jobs I would need my BS to apply for also ask for some type of management experience. I have about twenty hours a week I can commit to this. I would rather get paid but am not opposed to volunteering so long as I receive solid management experience.
Answer: Join some organizations on campus and try to become an officer (President, Vice President) etc. Or just volunteer to be head of some committees. When you are being considered for a management position, they usually ask questions like "Tell me about a time you were in charge of a group of people." "Tell me what you did to motivate people in a group." etc.
Question: What should I do when asked for a supervisor's name or telephone number for the army? When filling out job applications I usually leave this blank. But now I'm filling out online application and it's usually a required field and won't let me continue to the next part without putting something. I had many NCOICs, 1st Sgts, and the like. Even if I put one of their names down there's no way I'd be able to track down a phone number for them.
Answer: Give the Platoon leaders name and the unit's hq address in the USA.
Question: How can I get an internship with a music supervisor for film? I think this is a job I could really excel in if given the proper training, how can I get a good internship in this field?
Answer: get in good with your professors. see if they know a guy who knows a guy who can hook you up with an internship.
Question: I am becoming a supervisor for the first time starting on Tuesday, any suggestions? I will have 12 direct reports that probably won't be happy that I am there since I am coming from the outside and I know they all applied for the position. I do not know the business at all but I have extensive knowledge of another field that they are in need of. So I will need their knowledge and co-operation but I am not sure how to approach this.
Thank you.
Answer: Dress like a supervisor. People take their cues about your authority and expertise from the way you look first, then after that, the way you conduct yourself. If you look the part, you will engender their regard from the first moment. What you do after that depends on all of the skills that you have already accumulated to earn you this position. In addition, it will make you FEEL like a supervisor which will help you to act like one. Business suits are the safest bet for men or women. If you don't have one, go to Ross or TJ Maxx and buy one. Good luck. You'll be great!
Question: Which of the following is the best action for a police supervisor to take to improve job performance in emplys A. Establish individual standards based on abilities of each individual subordinate.
B. Heavily consider personality when appraising performance.
C. Accompany subordinated in the field periodically to see how well they're doing.
D. Develop various standards for each jov so that individuality can be rated.
Answer: I would suggest "C" as the appropriate response.
You don't establish "individual" standards. You either have a standard for all or none at all.
Personality is important but not relevant.
Developing various standards...again...can be confusing to the subordinates therefore you maintain one standard for all...not individuals.
Going in to the field with the subordinate gives the supervisor first hand knowledge of the subordinates activities and enables the supervisor to make corrections and suggestions for improvement!
Just my opinion!
Question: What topic is best suitable in the field of rural sociology? Am currently in my third year in university, I need an interesting project topic in the area of rural sociology against my final year.My project supervisor is on me!! Thanks'
Answer: what about land use planning?
Question: How can I become a Rig Drilling supervisor or "Company man" (oilfield)? What kind of experience is required ?
What degree(s) are required ?
Does related experience in the field allow you to be hired or you must have a certain degree ?
Where do I start from ?
I have a BS degree in Geology...
Answer: A geology degree is a good start but you need a great deal of experience before anyone will give you control of a drilling rig. Just look what happened in the Gulf.
You might start as a roustabout or other oil field worker. Take a look at some of the websites that features oil field jobs.
Question: Anyone work at Caribou Coffee as a team member or shift supervisor? Do you enjoy working at Caribou? I just got offered a job as a team member, but the store manager asked why I was applying to an hourly wage job when I have a college degree (graduated one year ago) I thought that was kind of rude of him to say that. The job market is really bad right now and I can't find a decent paying job in my field. But the other manager was nice.
Answer: Never worked at Caribou, but it is a question I have been asked before.
A lot of that, considering your educational background, is to evaulate your goals. Do they see someone who is "management material", or someone who is just looking for a temporary job until something better comes along.
Some of the interviewers are afraid of their jobs also, or their friends jobs. They see someone with an education and motivation, that may catch the attention of higher ups, therefore they fear that someone might get their job. Been there and DONE that!
To be honest, now that you know you might get asked questions on this level, be prepared next time to turn the tables on them. Tell them that you did your research on the company, and see potential with them. Very few people are going to say, "we are a lousy company to work for." BS them, you know what I'm saying?.
Question: How can I get supervisor for PHD research projet? My field of study is Applied Microbiology, and I am anEthiopian. I want to study abroad.
Answer: I'll be your supervisor. First, send me 43 cents.
Question: Is Obama making a mistake again? He is going after Americans working over seas? When I worked as a field supervisor in Arabia, my frequent telex orders of materials and equipment kept many americans at work here in the states. That was back when we still manufactured many things that since have moved off shore because of government interference. Now Obama is driving us off the cliff!
Answer: Like all educated idiots, he assumes that he is the last word or thought on what is brought to his attention by other educated idiots. He is in a constant huddle and never ever ready to hit the line untill he gets the right signal on the teleprompter, he and many like him will fail, but may cause damage to many, and that's the sad part.
Question: what title should i use for my business cards? i am starting up my own hauling/vacancy clean up business and i am making business cards, i am the owner of the business as well as the one who takes calls, makes appointments, quotes prices and does all financial work as well as pretty much everything else. my hubby is the one who actually does the labor and supervises any other workers when needed so i titled him "field manager" but would "field supervisor" sound better? and as far as for my title i am at a loss as to what to call myself :) please help.
Answer: My family is opening up a Cleaning Service Co. very soon with 3-5 family owners. All of us have a title but we will all be Owned and Operated. There is no employees yet because we are not hiring people outside family unless it is someone we trust and know. You are a family member and partner so there for you should take on the title as Female Owner and put it on your ID card, like I did. Doesn't that sound Grand? Women Owners should be proud. Wish you luck.
Question: I need help here with this question, from the medical field and legal advice? When taking care of a child in the home with medical problems, and the house is without airconditioning for going on 3 weeks now. I feel there could be legal action taken against the mother, the nurse and the company she works for. Is this right? My supervisor said no, that we could not be held responsible for this. There is an open DFCS case on this child. I simply refused to stay in this house anymore without a/c past the evening hour. The child is now sick with a cold or bronchitus and so am I. Give me your advice on this?
Answer: You need to call the anonymous child abuse hotline, if you don't want your name used. This is a form of child abuse and could result in serious consequences. Report it. It something happens to the child, you will be blamed.
Question: If I'm not happy with my PhD supervisor, can I move my registration to another institution in the UK? My PhD topic has changed radically since I first began a year ago, and my supervisor isn't the most appropriate in my new field. I feel she has lost interest in my work and is showing a distinct lack of support. For example, her feedback on my first conference paper consisted of a one-line email saying that it was "fine". I would prefer to work with a supervisor at another institution in the British Isles who has already shown interest in my work and is better suited to my topic. What are the logistics of such a move, and is it even possible? I should add that my research is self-funded.
Answer: Is it possible to request another one from the same University? I know there is the whole thing that she'll get mad that you move to another faculty, but if you explain to her that you have a different interest and mean it in good faith, she might even be willing to help you. Overstepping her might be a really bad move. She might know faculty at the new University and put you at odds.
Question: can I work as a teacher at a private school while being a student for the medical field? I remember I had a teacher at my PUBLIC high school -she was about 21 years old- and I remember she was still going to college. I don't know if maybe she was in an intership but she was teaching on her own with no supervisor...
Answer: You can definitely do teaching at 21. In fact there are a lot of programs like Teach for America that allow you to do so. However, being able to teach and being a medical student is not realistic. You might be able to do, say, a Saturday enrichment program, but being a teacher is a full time job. So is being a medical student.
Question: Can salary exempt employees be switched to hourly employees legally? Taking into account the Exempt and Non Exempt class differences is it legal to switch a salary exempt employee to an hourly exempt employee? This would apply to construction admin and field supervisors that are currently on salary.
Answer: Yes, it is legal. There is an hourly exempt classification, but I am not sure if that is what you are asking for details. In the hourly exempt classification you can pay half time overtime, but you must pay those hourly employees for 40 hours each week even if they do not work the full 40.
Question: If I wanted an associates degree in Business do I get an AA or AAS? I'm studying to get into the manager/supervisor field. Is there a big difference in them?
Answer: AA is associates in arts and AAS is associates in applied science. They are the exact same thing except AA means you took an arts class, like drama, foreign language, or art. AAS just means you strictly took the required classes and no "extra" classes like the arts classes. If you want to become anything like a nurse, technician, dental hygeinist, AAS is the way to go. Also, people with AAS degrees make more money.
Question: Do I need to be watched by a supervisor to go paint-balling if I'm 15? I live in San Jose ,CA and there is a nearby paint balling field 20 minutes from my house ,and I really need info on which are the best Paint Ball Guns ETC.
Give lots of info or give me a link
Thanks in Advance!
Answer: I would get a tippman a-5 with a sniper kit and a good scope pretty cheap and you can stay back a little and snipe people off without taking a major risk of getting hit hope this helps.
Question: What is the best recruitment agency for Oil and Gas Companies in the UK? I am currently looking for a job with an Oil and Gas firm in the UK or anywhere in the world. I worked for Schlumberger as a Field Engineer and Supervisor for over 3 years in Canada, Pakistan, Tanzania, Egypt and Angola. I would like to know which recruitment agency would help me getting a job in this field in the UK or anywhere outside. I would like to work as LWD / MWD Filed Engineer or in Interpretation or Petrophysics departments. Thanks alot.
Answer: National Grid handle onshore transmission. There are a bunch that do off-shore, but I don't know anything about them. I believe NG own most of the larger size diameters gas lines in the UK and a substantial part of the electrical network. They own a chunk of the smaller gas lines too, but were in the process of selling some of them off a few years ago.

Question: I have worked in the human services field for nearly 20 years-working w/ children & families.? The last 5 years has been at the level of director (of various programs). I have a Master's degree, but am seriously considering a career change. My issue is I really don't have the desire to return to school. I enjoy working with people, but being a supervisor has been stressful (often times not worth it) especially the HR parts of the position. Suggestions??
Answer: Maybe you should consider retirement. Then pursue those things that really interest you now more. That might be consulting, independent work, free-lancing in your field. It might include art, music, writing, speaking, or volunteering. Take a step back and ask yourself what you would rather do.
Question: Does anybody else find it frustrating to answer a question that relates to your professional field? Typicaly, I'll spend 10-15 minutes writing a detailed response to the question only to have the asker (who is asking because they don't know) pick the best answer from an equally uninformed person who has an easier and cheaper urban legand answer. Why bother? I only answered to help and it's frustrating! I want to yell "No-oooooooo, don't do that!
Licensed Construction Supervisor 20+ years.
Answer: I'm a paramedic, and it bothers me to no end when people answer a question that they don't know anything about. I'll write up a detailed answer, and then the best answer goes to someone who wrote a two sentence response that isn't even medically accurate.
I just hope they have enough common sense not to actually follow the bad advice :)
Question: I interviewed with 3 different people. Who gets the thank you letter? I had my third and final Interview with a company. Each interview had a different person conducting it. I want to send a thank you letter but I don't know who to send it to? The first two interviews were with recruiters and the final was with the field supervisor.(my direct supervisor, if hired)
Answer: I would make every one of these individuals "think" that they are most important. Write one letter to each of them and you will get a more positive chance of getting the position that you seek. I wish you well. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

Question: spouse wont call cause of supervisor!!!? Your Question
wife wont call coz of supervisor?
My wife was away at work for 12 good hrs and did not call me ( NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE) WE ALL ALWAYS CALL EACH OTHER, cause she was working out in the field with her supervisor.
Im just curious if she never had a 5 min break in 12 hrs. Or how mean can this female supervisor be that she would take it wrongly if someone took a min out of 12 hr to call home?
I called her several times and she never answered, she said she was busy.I understand, but come on 12 hrs.
I was concerened thinking maybe something happened( as we always call each other at least 2 times aday to check on each other for the last 5 yrs) so i was worried maybe something bad happened. She is now threatening to quit her job saying she will stay at home so i can know where she is all the time. For crying out loud i just said i was worried when she didnt call and then came home 12 hrs later and said that she couldt call cause she doesnt like to make ANY call when her sup is there. DONT THEY TAKE BREAKS? I mean seriously, no one works for 12 hrs straight. I just told her to keep me informed next time so i dont have to worry and she is talking about quitting the job and asking me if i dont trust she was at work etc. I never implied she wasnt at work.
Older folks , and people married for a while ( NO KIDS PLZ) please help me out decipher this.

Answer: i know you dont wanna hear this but loosen up dude! k i understand you have had a thing of calling every day, but if her sup says she cant then welll she cant. just giver her a little wiggle room for a day or so. if it continues too long talk to her about it in a calm manner, tell her you conserned and want some sort of conformation of her safety. hope it helped... again sorry if it wasn't what you wanted...

Answer: The nurses in the emergency room at the hospital I work in work 12 hour shifts with no breaks. No cigarette breaks, no lunch, and no dinner. It's against the law, but it's what they have to do to keep patient flow moving.
I've been married for decades and I seldom call my wife during my work day. She also doesn't call me while I'm working. It's a job, not social time. We have an understanding. Calls at work are limited to IMPORTANT things. Having to chat "at least 2 times a day" sounds very excessive. It also sound immature and insecure.
Sounds to me like she's feeling checked up on, and she's getting tired of it. Can't say I blame her.
Question: question about field trip superviors? ok, not gardia, not supervisor, but when little kids go on a field trip and they bring a parent with them or what ever, what is the name of the parent? along the lines of a a super visor or parental gardian, what is the f*cking nameeeE??????? help, I love you!
Answer: Our schools just ask for parental "volunteers' to escort the field trip. They don't attach a special name to them. Maybe your school does.
Question: What should I do if my supervisors are acting disrespectful and not paying me in full and ripping other's off? I'm a patient care technician in the medical field and my supervisors are ripping alot of people off. Not just me.
