Because of the increasing popularity of telecommuting, it is necessary for us to be more careful in our plans for information security and for our employees' health and personal safety. We wish it was possible to talk to each employee individually, but that is impossible. Instead, we have prepared a "Telecommuter Employees Guide" which includes structured agreements that specify space, equipment, scheduling, communications, and conditions of employment. The complete guide should be given to whoever is about to begin a telecommuting assignment. We appreciate you discussing the following recommendations with any of your staff members whom are considering telecommuting.
Arranging the Home Workspace
• Create a space where you can expect minimal traffic and distraction.
• Make it comfortable but with sufficient space for computer, printer, and fax.
• Make your workspace off-limits to family and friends.
• Provide proper lighting and telephone service.
Ensuring Information Security
• Remember that you’re home office is an extension of the company office.
• Be careful to protect information and avoid computer viruses.
• Be sure to backup and store data and other information in a safe place.
We do not recommend at-home meetings for telecommuters. By the same token, we suggest using postal boxes rather then home addresses. We also require smoke detectors in home work areas.
To have any questions answered, my assistant or I can be reached at Ext. 310.
Answer: I am reluctant to correct this, although wishing to be helpful, but being English I find it riddled with neologisms unknown this side of the Atlantic. Although the word 'telecommunication(s) is common, the contrived forms 'telecommute' and 'telecommuter' are unknown. I would therefore suggest replacing the latter two with a periphrastic form using the word 'telecommunication(s)' wherever possible. I have copied your article below and inserted in brackets what I believe to be the correct form. I hope this causes no offence, but, as Churchill said, we are indeed two nations divided by a common language.

Answer: It's good but edit out the top part before qualifications. You can change it to "Objective: To earn a job in (whatever)..." Or, have a "skills" section and use phrases, not sentences.
Question: Condescending Jobs-worth boss and 'anal' backstabbing co-workers.? OK i'll try and keep this short.
In short i have been out of the military for a year now, where I have project managed 10 people on a few electrical projects and the like. Now have taken a job on the railways. However the past year has been a rollercoaster of experience good and bad. I started off with one department and found that to be very bitchy and clicky. I tried to fit in, but learning the job was difficult when people won't tell you the information or where to find it. I tolerated this behavour for 6 months trying to be patient, kind etc... 'biding my time...'.
Then i changed to another Department. after i got fed up of this behavour. All was going fine, until the my boss got promoted (same boss just he has a different title and salary). and now has spent the past 3 months being a condesending little W***r (he is in his early 30's).
I have enjoyed my time here until 3 months ago. The problem is the boss i have is always chasing for his full promotion (he's assistant manager, looking for full manager, now the vacancy is empty). He watches his back so carefully, always wanting things written down etc.. He'll ask favours but never really give them in return; when he does you have to be 'ticked off' in a mental 'favours book' in his head. If you refuse overtime etc... He officiously tells you OK, gets all lordy and then ask someone else; reminding you that don't ask him for overtime in future (even though he has clearly stated no overtime, we only get it if he's in a fix!)
He micro-manages the smallest thing. He's always, always on about health and safety. He can never give a straight answer to any question regarding what might affect you. Any sense of acheivement you have from doign a job is quicky removed with a critial reveiw of : 'why didn't you do this' or 'why has it took this long', 'so and so would have done it like this', 'is there a training issue', 'You need to be more proactive' etc... it just seems any amount of work you do for this thankless B****rd is never enough. Also he questions everything you do, and never backs you up EVER!!! Unless its for his own face gain. I'm not the only person this is happening too though...
Then there is the 2 coworkers, his number 2's. (I work as part of a 4 man rotating shift team, one of us on at a time). Who complain and ***** about his analness behind his back, how bad a boss he is etc... but then behind the back of the guy you have replaced shifts as soon as he is gone they slag him off. One of these Number 2's has his eye on a management position and althought a nice guy i don't trust him (I worked alongside him since the start of my time, until 3 months ago). He tries to ring me off shift when he drives home, for infornmation and a gossip. I have taken to turning my phone off (I luckily changed contract so have given a PAYG number as my 'Real' phone). As i don't want to hear about work.
I have held out for 3 months. I am getting more snappy and irritable at home. I suffer from depression anyways. but this really isn't helping. I'm losing all faith in my abilities! As i feel i may be actually clueless in my trade afterall... Help!!
I forgot to mention, that he lords it up over all 6 of us. and any 'grammatiacl errors' in speaking or writing, he's quick to correct you in front of co-workers. making you feel liek a complete cretin! I have had this 1st hand. Also have seen him do it to others. its unreal! I thought the military were bad!
Andy W. I have a feeling deep down you might be right, but i'd like to do a job where i'm not having to learn and be made tofeel a T**t for not knowing stuff. that i'm supposed to guess at.
Think i might take the gamble an try set up on my own.
Answer: Welcome to the civilian world.
You could leave and hope to find somewhere better or you can stay and put up with it.
The likelyhood is that if you leave and find another job then the situation will be similar.
As ex military (signals) myself albeit it from a fair time ago, I can tell you that you will encounter this sort of thing on a regular basis.
You either have to put up with it or get out.

Health Care Spending Crisis in America
According to the World Health Organization report America ranks third place in handling overall healthcare expenditures, and number one when it comes to health care spending as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP). What are the causes for the poor performance America takes in controlling its healthcare costs? What advantages do other nations like France and Taiwan have over ours? To lower healthcare expenditures and save the healthcare system time and money, America needs to change its’ emergency care system, its’ medical and information storage system, and its’ public hospital system.
One change the United States could make to improve our healthcare system is to revamp our emergency care system, which would save the system money and would improve car people with true emergencies. In France, the emergency medical services, or EMS, are a branch of emergency services dedicated to providing out-of-hospital decisive medical care to patients with real illnesses. The emergency medical services are also dedicated to transporting patients with real illnesses to separate medical facilities that offer specialized treatment to the patient. Within France’s emergency medical services lies The Emergency Medical Assistant Services (SAMU). In France, when you have a medical emergency, you must first dial the number 15, which the call is quickly received by the SAMU call center. There a physician, attended by secretaries, determines the most suitable response. After a short and precise telephone conversation with the caller, the “regulator doctor” also known as emergentists, who takes into account the resources available at the time, decides on the most suitable solution to the problem posed. The emergentist then assumes responsibility for starting up the appropriate procedures, monitoring its progress, and coordinating all the personnel involved. Upon arrival at the scene, the entire staff comprised of a regulator doctor, nurses, and technicians, treat the patient at the scene. On average it takes 45 minutes for SAMU to treat the patient. If the patient does need further treatment, the regulator doctor chooses a hospital not by its’ proximity, but its specialty. In France, the idea is to bypass the emergency room all together. In America, there are little similarities compared to France’s emergency care system. In America, the emergency medical services are comprised of ambulance teams of paramedics or EMTs. The ambulance teams in America are dedicated to transporting patients with real illnesses to the nearest hospital. In America, when a person has a medical emergency they must first dial the nationwide phone number 911, where the emergency dispatch center quickly receives the call. There a dispatcher, attended by a supervisor, determines the location of the emergency and sends an ambulance team to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, the goal of the paramedics is not to treat the patient at the scene, but to stabilize the patient in the ambulance in order to take him/her to the nearest hospital center. The entire staff of an ambulance team is comprised of only paramedics, who are trained in first aid safety and handling of medical equipment. The average time it takes an ambulance team to reach the scene, stabilize the patient, and transport him/her to a hospital is roughly 25 minutes. Once the paramedics reach the emergency room, too often the patient will have to wait until a bed or room clears before being treated by an E.R doctor. In America, the idea is not like France’s treat the patient at the scene, but a direct pickup and go type of situation. Emulating France’s system of emergency healthcare is a time and cost effective measure because out of every 1000 calls SAMU receives, only about 50 turn out to be real medical emergencies. This is part due to the regulator doctor who answers the calls, determines if the patient needs a team of SAMU or not. That means in more than 95% of the cases, France’s SAMU team can deal with the call without using the full team, evidently reducing costs of the emergency services. Adopting France’s system of emergency care would help the American system save time, money, and treat those with true medical emergencies.
Another change the United States could make to improve our health care system is to change the way hospitals and medical clinics store our medical and personal information by using electronic cards. This would save the healthcare system time and money, which would lower costs on overall healthcare expenditures. In Taiwan, the standardized health record system uses highly innovated technology called integrated circuit smart cards. The electronic medical records (EMR) are a system of medical and personal information storekeeping of patient’s records. With the adoption of the National Health Insurance and medical records, all medical examination record in

Question: Health and Safety on construction project? I have been given a scenario, it is a construction project of a shopping center, an assistant manager has all responsibility over the site, also there's some domestic and specialist subcontracting firms employed whom will have been responsible for designing and manufacturing and installing their various compnents
i have to identify the persons who are responsible for H & S on the project?
now, my answer is the Assistant manager himself is responsible on-site for H & S , as he assumes total control over site activities, and i believe those firms have also responsibilities under CDM (construction, design and management) regulation 1994.
what i would like to know is, do those Firms assign their own (SSO) site safety officers or projet team leaders to work in the project, and how do they interact with other SSO and the assitant manager?
is my answer correct? if so, could someone tell me about the last part, the interation between H&S officers or projet team leaders..
if not, then please could you point me to where i can find more information about the subject, i tried H&S website, but still i am not sure, can't find anything related to his, or maybe i just missed it
thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer: They are all responsible for safety, even the workers. If their is any supervisor, they are responsible for the training of all employees unless a safety manager or any other superior holds those responsibilities. I think one part of your question is asking about who is responsible for contracted workers? That would rest on their companies supervisors/managers. Even if they are working on your property, they are responsible, not you.

Skills
∙ There are many skills that I have learned to benefit any company, and I feel I can will exceed in. My position that I am qualified for I exceeded with above and beyond the limits to grow in a company.
Answer: I don't like your objectives. It's fluff and filled with buzzwords. "Build this company to exceed to make this a better business, to excel proactively to benefit employees," simply makes no sense.
Tell the recruiter specifically what you want to do. "Apply my experiences to managing a restaurant that earns high customer feedback." "Manage an auto repair center that is regarded as honest and professional by the community it serves."

Question: What do you think of my "supporting information" on my application form for Domestic Assistant? You know the bit where you put why you want the job on an application form? Well it's for a Domestic Assistant job. Please tell me what you think! I've removed details of where the job is. This is what I put;
I am applying for this position because I understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the ................. and would like to be a part of this as I would find it very rewarding. When I worked as a member of Bar Staff at my previous employment, I also cleaned the Centre 5 days a week. This involved cleaning tables, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, toilet cleaning, bin emptying and polishing. On the weekends it involved extra cleaning due to parties being held the night before. This was to maintain high standards of cleanliness for the next customers. I have read the job description for your Domestic Assistant role and I realise that the role requires much more attention to safety procedures e.g. decontaminating surfaces, cleaning walls, the use of chemicals. However, I would welcome any training offered to me and I am very interested in learning more about Health and Safety Policies. I have lots of experience of working with the public which has strengthened my customer service skills. This would help with clearing away dirty crockery and any other interaction I may have with patients. I also have stock replenishment experience which I feel is another skill that can be transferred to this role. I feel my previous cleaning experience would help me to be a successful Domestic Assistant for the .................., as well as my personality and positive attitude to work. I am an extremely self-motivated and diligent person who is easy to get along with. I work well under pressure and I work well as a team, or I am happy left to my own initiative. I would find working for the ................. very rewarding because it is a well known and well respected company, that I would like to be a part of.
I would be available to work straight away and could work any hours. I would be very grateful if you could consider me for the Domestic Assistant role.
Any tips please?
Answer: I agree with Baz. This is too long, you should keep it short and straight to the point.
I noticed that you are also selling your experience there in a bit too much detail, you should leave that for your employment history section; Once they read that they will be able to tell if your experiences are what they require.
Good luck with your application.

Answer: Well C average in high school and that is as far as it has gone. You mention that you have IT experience but none of that is in your resume. Sorry resume says nothing that is needed in the business market all hearsay so to speak gained understanding, acknowledged how working in a team? Nothing hardwired. The coffee pot has to go. Instead stress what you know if IT then do you know Microsoft office? Excel, Word, PPT etc. that is what you need to stress not I can babysit etc. You need to stress what you can bring to the table as in skills that are useful in business and positive and experienced not made aware of
Question: Salary opinion...food service? I am having an issue with the amount of money I am making hourly.
I have been with the company I work with for 7 1/2 years. I have worked my way up the ladder. I am a cook with managerial and supervisor responsibilities. (Even worked as assistant manager for 9 months) I am ServSafe certified and have completed manager training at the company's headquarters along with leadership and equal opportunity training. I am constantly reminded by my general manager that I am the best worker and most reliable worker they have. I know for a fact that I am, I work very hard and never complain.
6 months ago a second cook was hired. I did 19 days in a row because we were short a cook and had to help before we hired our relief cook. He never got certified as a cook and apparently went to this asian cuisine school for a couple months. I had to teach him about food safety, calibrating thermomters, and all of the basics behind cooking in a health care environment. I would assume that you were learn food safety as part of culinary school. He does not know his stuff! He shows up with alcohol on his breath every morning and I catch him slacking all the time and doing nothing, and I am always busting my a$$ at the job. My boss even asked me to give some of my responsibilities to him, since he is always standing around.
So I found out how much he makes and he was making 3 dollars more than me. I had my evaluation and I got perfect on everything and BAM they gave me a dollar raise. Now, he is making 2 dollars more than me.
I want to have a conversation with my boss about the fact I know how much he is making. He was talking about it and she had the form on her desk so I even saw it. He has only been there 6 months and I do not understand it. I do not want to upset her but I feel that if I am the "best" worker, I should be compensated for it.
What should I do? How can I approach my boss.. Please help!
Answer: I think you should have a meeting with your boss about your concerns.
You can ask him/her if they can meet up with you and discuss your opinions and feelings with them on this matter.
Tell him/her on about how you perceive this situation and ask him/her to explain why this person, who has less responsibilities, less jobs and obviously lack of knowledge in the basic fundamentals of cooking, is getting a better wages.
From what I get from above, you like this job even with this annoyance so I don't think changing your job is the first option for you.

Answer: Ask your boss why is it fair.
I worked for a hospital in the kitchen once, I had five years experience under my belt, culinary school diploma, servsafe, and all sorts of over-qualifications.
THey moved a dishwasher up to a pantry cook to work with me, and he made only 15 cents less than me.
I confronted my boss and the worst thing they can tell you is "I'm sorry."
Question: what are the major duties of an HR admin assistant supporting a team of Human REsources Gerenalists? following are the areas
Recruitment and Selection,Benefits and compensaton,HRIS database management,Training and Development,HEalth and safety etc
Answer: Well if you don't know by those headings then I don't think you're qualified unless lots of training comes with the job.
Question: Responsibilities and approach to health, safety and security to be modified according to age.? I am doing a Teaching Assistant level 2 course and have to do an assignment on Keeping Children Safe. The part of the question I am stuck on is ' Explain how your responsibilities and approach may be modified according to age' please can someone help me ; )
Answer: Maybe what they're suggesting is that you wouldn't teach a 3 year old the same way you'd teach an 11 year old. The little cutesy condescending voices won't work with an 11 year old like they would a 3 year old. That's what I get out of that question.
Question: Anyone have any cheap and fun ideas for a Health and Safety Week at a business? I've just been hired as a Human Resources Assistant, and have been asked to help come up with ideas and plan a Health and Safety Week. The problem is, I have no experience in this, and I am not very creative. Also, the company is on a tight budget, so things we can do ourselves, free stuff, or for a minimal fee. Any ideas will help. Thanks!
Answer: Call your local fire department to give a demonstration on how to put out a small fire. Ask if they would include hands-on demonstrations for your staff on how to use a fire extinguisher. That is always a thrill!
Ask you local hospital or red cross if they would give a talk and if they could bring a couple of dummies to practice first aid on. Then hold a competition where the winner gets his/her photo printed on a certificate and hung on your reception wall. Cheap. Fun.
Hold a week long poll and ask your staff to list all the potential hazards in your work place and how to best rectify the situation with the least cost. Select the best suggestion and give the winner a day off plus a free meal for his family?

Question: what are the issues of Liability concerning the safety, health, and welfare of students? Hi, I need help on this one question for my teacher assistant assignment. Can anyone help me?
Answer: idk!
Question: What would be better physician assistant or nursing? I have done MS in Environmental health and safety and would like to change my filed to either PA or nursing. I m confused. Is there anyone who can suggest me about this?
Answer: As Diane has said these are completely different careers. Dependent on your previous coursework, you may already have all the prerequisites for either an RN or a PA program. At that point, it is approximately 2 years of school for either one.
PAs work under the auspices of a physician, and take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic test, make diagnoses and order treatments/therapies. It is a very good career and most people who go into the field enjoy it.
RNs work as a licensed provider. They provide services which are separate from a physician, but the services are complementary at most times. Physicians write treatment orders for patients. RNs coordinate the implementation of these orders. RNs are often heavily tasked and frequently understaffed. They have a very responsible job, and are often not given adequate support. (I am not trying to talk you out of nursing, truly) However, they also have the most interaction with patients of any health care provider. Nurses are on the units for a full shift, while medical staff may see a patient on most days for less than 5 minutes. There is also the advantage of having a wide variety of career options as an RN. There is a much broader scope in which an RN or advanced practice RN can be used than a PA.
Both are great careers. With the proper education you can make a fine salary with either one.
It is up to you to decide which meets your personality.
Question: How can i study and get a job with no experience in that field? Next year i want to study for a health & safety officer, then I want to quit my job as logistics assistant to go in that direction. but im scared that when im finished studying that i wont be able to get a job as most ads wants people with years of experience. what can i do? PLEASE HELP!!!
Answer: Is it possible for you to study for your health and safety officer qualification while you remain employed in your current position? That would be ideal. When you are ready, you could then start applying for your new career position.
Do not take the required number of years of experience as set in concrete. If there is a high demand in this field, then they will consider a beginner. You can also directly approach those companies seeking experienced H&SO and request that you be considered for an entry level position, maybe as an assistant to an H&SO. You really need to think outside the box to get your foot into a new career path.
Also, when preparing your resume think of where and how you have already applied H&SO principles either in your current job or in other areas of your life. Think! Be creative!
Hope this helps.
Question: Can anyone check my grammar, grammatical mistakes and structure of the sentences about my essay please? (I am doing voluntary work in special school because I am a student of teaching assistant course. This is a health & safety information)
I saw the class rooms were cleaned and free of germs. Every children were washing hands their before fruit times and they disposed to their tissues. In the classroom, When the children were using equipments (e. g. scissors, sharp pencils, clue and tools) at that time, me and the TA (teaching assistant) were supervised every children and cleared away the table and equipment was stored safety and then cleaned floor area. The TA always checked the children who were in classroom or toilet and also checked the children after their play time. I saw last week, one of the child was became a sick at school. At that time, the child took rest and he was lie down on the settee outside of the office and then the class teacher and school supervised and encouraged that child very well done.
The responsibility of the class teacher to make sure that their classroom is secure, windows closed and how the radiator was functioned. After the lunch time, the class teacher will take children register and check that all the children are present. I observed how the class teacher and TA are following the health & safety hazard in the classroom situation.
Next time, I would give more responsibility about children health & safety in the school situation and then I will give my best to the children.
Answer: It has got a lot of fundamental errors that need addressing but it would take me far too long to correct it for you instead ask a parent, grandparent, older cousin or even neighbour cos they will be able to explain to you in more detail where the errors are and what you need to do to improve it.
good luck x

Question: How can I have my home inspected for health reasons? First off I'd like to apologize if I am posting in the wrong category. Please let me know the correct one if it is wrong.
We moved into an apartment a little over a year ago and noticed there was mold in the A/C vents and on every single window. We notified the apartments right away and were told 2 different things. The leasing agent told us that we would have to pay to have the vents cleaned ourselves and they would not do it. The assistant manager told us she would have someone come and at least clean up the mold on the windows. Well, no one ever came and after asking at least 4 times for them to do something about it, we gave up.
Long story short, I am trying to find a way to have someone come out and inspect the apartment to see if it violates health and safety laws. We are trying to move out before our lease is up and are trying to find out if the issue is grounds to terminate the lease early.
We did submit requests in writing at least 3 times to them when we first moved in, which should comply with their terms for early move-out due to failure on their half to remedy the situation. Or am I totally wrong?
We have about a month and a half left on the lease and they are telling us we will need to pay rent for the remaining contract, plus water, plus a releting fee which is going to be well over $2000.
If anyone can help me out or point me where I need to be I would appreciate it.
The mold is IN the ducts. We removed the vents and can see it all throughout. There is no light that hits those areas, there is no paint and it is not made of glass.
The point is, after numerous times of notifying them on the issue, per the lease agreement, they told us it was our problem and what they did tell us they would clean, was never cleaned. We did have copies of the letters but my HD crashed and I ended up having to replace it. I am only hoping they kept the copies in their file.
Answer: I can save you some time. The health department will not waste theirs.
There is no dangereous mold that grows anywhere that is lit. Or glass. Or painted.
It sounds like you have common mildew. It is not a health hazard. Clean with a mild bleach solution. Mildew stains though, it will look like it is not coming off of the paint.
Vent the house, mildew grows in warm moist areas and only needs things like skin cells to feed off of (why people get it in their showers if they do not clean them).

Answer: I find it interesting that the directives came just prior to what many economist the worst economic cycle of our lives, and a potential war with Iran and Russia. It doesn't matter what we think what matters is that he has given himself the ability to. These directives supersede 140 years of long standing American government and now it has a very likely potential of changing our country dramatically and swiftly. More people should be as attentive as you and this country would not be in the shape it is in.
Question: Is this a good cover letter for applying for retail jobs? How can i make this sound LESS pretentious/better. what should i change? should i change it?
Dear Sir/Madam,
My desire to develop a career within retail has led to me attending, with successful completion, a generic retail course, during which I underwent sessions on: product knowledge, team work, Health & safety, effective selling and customer service. I am now looking for a relevant position in order to put these skills to use, and have identified ____________ as one that would find my skills of interest to their company.
In these competitive times professionalism and enthusiasm is demanded from every organisation, and should you feel that I am applicable for the position of Sales assistant, this will be met fully, with a positive attitude, in order to ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction is achieved.
I would welcome the opportunity for an interview, and should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email, of which can be found on my CV.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this job, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Answer: It's a great "textbook" (style) form letter, but it lacks real feeling. I would try to personalize it just a tad...not too much, because professionalism is still the overall impression that you want to convey.
You want your letter to make the reader think, "I'd like to interview this person" and at the interview, you want to think that *if they don't hire you it will be the worst move they could ever make*. I acutally used those exact words in an interview and was hired on the spot for a job that wasn't even advertised.

Answer: These are my first thoughts as I look over it. It looks like your experiences and abilities are positive. You just need to market them a bit better.
1) General rule: Never make unsubstantiated claims. Saying that "customers and staff recognized" you is an unsubstantiated claim. Writing down that you got a certain customer service award is better (if it's true). Another example might be giving examples of specific things you did to help the location function better-- i.e. "Reorganized inventory system to reduce the amount of time needed to restock by 2 hours." Anyone can say vague nice things about themselves. You need to give specific examples of ways you've been recognized or accomplishments that your potential new employer can appreciate.
2) If you really want to keep the "skill/qualities" section, it needs a serious face-lift. Get rid of the "interests" section altogether since it has no place in a formal CV. Right now, both of those sections sound like they belong on a dating service profile. You may keep the skills section only if you want to use it to list special qualifications you have like certifications or awards. Microsoft Excel, CPR training, whatever. Don't just say cash handling-- say how much you've been responsible for at any one time (for example, "Cash handling up to 15,000"). Don't say computer literate-- list which business-related programs you've mastered. Most of the stuff on the skills list are just more unsubstantiated claims. Either specify, or delete the whole thing.
3) Profile is another place with lots of vagueness. State clearly how many years of experience you have and the specific types of places you've worked. Instead of talking about how you're looking to further your own career, find a way to make it sound like you want to find the perfect team where you can contribute your skills to the company. Companies want to know what you can do for them, not what you want to do for yourself.
4) I always include letters of recommendation. Find at least three people you've worked with before, preferably a boss who still thinks highly of you. Ask them all to write letters of recommendation about you that you can hang on to and xerox. (Don't do it without their full awareness and participation.) These people can call you "reliable" and it means something. You calling yourself reliable means nothing. That's why you get someone else to make all those broad claims about you. Then you use your CV to list specifics.
Best wishes!

Question: anyone can correctly my grammar mistake about this assignment? I strongly understand the role of classroom assistants(CA) should support the teacher about preparing classroom materials and support by photocoping, typing, filing and collecting money and they also helping children who need additional support in school and then CA is supervising and assisting small groups of children activities set by teachers. CA is performing a number of routine task: listening to children read, helping children with numeracy, playing games with younger children and encouraging them to learn through play and they initialy help is given with changing in to PE kit,but more and more independance is encouraged. The CA should supervised by Health/safety of children in the school environment, including a fully equipped first aid box, equipment to protect children from accidents.e.g. PE time, playground time, scissors stored away and safety goggles and then equipment for use in an emergency,e.g. fire blanket, emergency alarms and emergency exits and they are doing in the range of written records used to classroom activities and also they make a health/safety accident recording in a accident book. finally, I believe the main role of ca is make communication skills and organizational skills with children and class teacher and the school environment.
Answer: One of the many roles of a classroom assistant (CA) is to support the teacher by preparing classroom materials and providing various support such as photocopying, typing, filing and collecting money. CAs also help the children who need additional support in school. Teachers may also give CAs the responsibility of supervising and assisting small groups of children in activities which have been previously planned. Routine tasks during these activities could include listening to children read, helping with numeracy, playing games with the younger children and encouraging learning through playing games while at the same time encouraging independence gradually. Supervising the health and safety of the children in the school environment is another responsibility given to a CA. The many safety supplies contained in first aid kits and equipment used to protect children from accidents should be placed in the proper areas and used as they are intended to be used. Fire blanket locations, emergency alarm locations and emergency exits should be noted at all times and any accident should be recorded in an accident book. Given the responsibilities a CA bears, I believe that the overall goal is to help promote the communication and organizational skills children need to be successful with their teachers in a school setting.
Question: Listing a job on a resume and not sure what it would be called? Pretty much i worked front desk at a fitness center, but only one person was on staff at a time. Sometimes there was a personal trainer or something around, but they worked independently and gave the center a cut. Martial arts too, but same thing as the trainer basically.
I pretty much ran the whole place. Standard making sure people coming in wer emembers...signing up new members....taking payments...answering phone...booked parties...sold stuff.
Monitoring security cameras, making sure everythign was following health and safety codes.
Friend said to put
"Part time assistant manager". THey gave me no official position and there were 3 others in my position. Then there was the manager who managed 5 other businesses and showed up for an hour every day.
Sorta a second question.....but those tasks i listed above, many times i was doing a bunch at the same time....not sure how to list that on a resume..."multi-tasking"....but i don't wanna use that word or know how to
really use it in a sentence.
Answer: You were just an authentic Assistant Manager for a fitness center!
Part time or not doesn't change anything to the level of responsabilities. Your boss was a part time boss, but does "part-time manager" make sense?
Question: Do you think people doing community service should have to wear uniforms? Just saw that they are bringing in orange and purple vests for people doing community service. Is this just to make people stand out and look stupid? I've done community service before and shouldn't they just make sure you do what you have to do instead of trying to make you stand out?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
High visibility vests for criminals on community service are being introduced.
The Government has ordered 10,000 orange vests with "Community Payback" written on the back in purple to mark out offenders doing manual work.
Ministers hope the uniforms will increase public confidence in community punishments which are seen by some as a soft option compared to jail.
But critics have warned the bibs could make offenders a target for gangland attacks.
Probation officers have demanded health and safety assessments be carried out before projects begin to ensure the safety of staff and offenders.
Harry Fletcher, assistant general secretary of Napo, the probation officers' union, said: "The Government is claiming that this initiative is being introduced to raise public awareness.
"That can be done in other ways, for example by a plaque after the work is completed. The real intention of the vests is to make the Government look tougher on crime and to demean the offenders".
"There are, however, real health and safety considerations. There have already been a number of attacks and incidents on unpaid work placements.
"The use of high visibility vests seems certain to increase the risk."
He said the union had referred the issue to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, on the grounds that vests could lead to ethnic or racial stereotyping.
Answer: I do, and written across the vests, criminal, and lets see the bleeding hearts out there complain of their feckin human rights.
You commit a crime, get caught, end up with community service then you should damn well pay for the crime you committed. And make reparation to the victims, its time to make crime a priority, because most people in this country are of the belief that its the criminal who gets let off lightly and the victims are the ones who lose out every time.
so thumbs down, that just supports my idea that people care about the rights of the criminal than over the many victims,
if you have ever been a victim of crime, wouldn't you want those people punished, and i think community service something of a joke. I have been burgled once, and mugged twice, and can safely say that those people would have got a lot worse had i caught up with them
Question: Courses that can help with teaching? I have 1 year left of full time education before I want to take a TEFL course then a full teaching course. For the year I have left at college I would like to find something useful to take but after looking through I can't see anything that's looking very useful (for teaching) I've started looking at childcare and teaching assistant but not sure how that would ever help.
Is their any health and safety or first aid courses that can be done within a year?
any advise on a course or path to take would really help!
Thanks allot!
Answer: Hi Flamegre,
I don't know where you live so can't offer any advice about First Aid or OSHA courses. You should be able to get this information from your local library or Google it.
One course that operates in Australia is 'Train The Trainer' and it is to be recommended.
Again, your local library may be able to steer you toward suitable courses.
Best wishes.
Question: Is it against the law not to pay employees on their induction day? (UK question)? I just received my first pay slip and I see that they only paid me for 1 hour on my first day. I was there from 10 - 3, so 5 hours but they only paid me for one. I think they did this because I was actually on the tills (I work as a sales assistant in Boots) from 2 -3, the rest of the time I was watching health and safety videos, signing papers and going through all the requirements and things I have to do.
my cousin says what they have done is against the law, she has her own company, and now my mum wants me to complain but I don't want to unless it really is against the law

Question: does this make sence how cn i make it more interesting PLEASE I NEED YOU R HELP!!!!? I am experienced in hairdressing as a floor assistant there my role was to make the clients feel comfy and they had a drink of there choice, I also had to clean the stylist chair after every client for health and safety reasons. I have also worked in health insurance administration as a sales re representative I loved that job, meeting new people that also built my confidence and, I have also worked as a shop floor assistant in the Leeds market my job role there was dealing with the customers and there problems I also worked on the tills serving the customers and I am now keen to find work in this area,
Answer: Since the whole paragraph isn't about your hair dressing experience, you may want to start off with a sentence stating that you've had a lot of positive experiences working with people then go into what each job detailed. If this is for a resume, you may want to make your objective in simply working with people and describe the different jobs in their perspective categories under each job listing. Also, Microsoft Word has some excellent templates to get you started in making a good resume and try to keep it at just a page long! Hope I helped!
Question: What's a good career for someone with these skills/interests? My husband is well-educated, but inexperienced. He got out of graduate school right as the job market hit rock bottom and his degree isn't very marketable so he's been sort of "adrift" ever since. But he's really smart and a quick learner. Here are his qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree and master's degree in Religion. Both degrees are from very good schools, the master's degree is from an Ivy.
2. 1 year of part-time (20 hrs/week) experience working with a non-profit. He does internship and volunteer coordination and office management. Through re-direction of everyday funds, he's saved his organization enough money this year to pay his own salary and then some. He also does some policy advocacy for them.
3. 1.5 years of experience (some of it part-time, some of it full-time) working as a technical writer and basic admin assistant for a small company while he was in school.
4. A keen interest in occupational health and safety as well as public policy.
5. Interest in working for non-profits.
6. He doesn't want to sell anything and he isn't great at schmoozing anybody. He's just an honest, hardworking, super smart (he was incredibly gifted as a kid.....learned to read at the age of 2) guy.
What should he do? He's had the hardest time finding full-time employment and he's very hesitant to go back to school for anything because he already feels like his first graduate degree was a huge waste since it can't really get him any jobs.
Any ideas of how he can turn his education and experience into a good field for him?
Answer: I see you have posted a second question and the answer I gave the first time stands and I hope he emails.

Answer: Many, many government jobs do not require a specific degree, just a degree. A master's degree will qualify him for a GS-9 position, which can be substituted for specialized experience. Unless he's a veteran, though, he'll find it hard to be "within reach" on a typical certificate unless there are numerous openings for a particular announcement.
If he's under 30, he should consider joining the military. He may be surprised at the many options he has for career fields, including military chaplain. Then four years later, he would be the veteran that tops the list of eligibles and have a greater chance of being hired.
Question: I'm turning 16 in January, and I'm required by my school to submit a 'serious' job application. Help? So: a nearby medical clinic is looking for a junior secretary to work once a fortnight and public holidays, and I would like to apply for this position. Experience in the field is, obviously, not required.
Could someone please help me write a cover letter?
A couple of points that I would like to make:
1) I am serious about working in this field. Admin. is an integral part of the medical system; though indirectly, I would be helping people. In fact, starting July '09, I will be a student in Introduction to Medical Administration at Holmesglen TAFE (taking a night class at technical college). If offered a job at this clinic, I would be granted recognition of prior learning.
2) I study -successfully- by distance education, so I'm comfortable working independently and I have excellent time-management skills. Also, my schedule is very flexible, so I can cover for other people.
3) As my volunteering suggests, I am polite, conscientious, and socialise well with people of all ages. I can touch-type and I am familiar with Microsoft Office '03 and '07 and Apple iWork '08.
Can you think of anymore points I should make? Neatly attired? Lovely phone manner?
And, finally, my resume summarised:
I worked for four months as a retail assistant at an up-market grocery store; I volunteer as a community visitor; I have completed an Occupational Health and Safety program developed by the State government for the purposes of work experience; I will be undertaking a course in First Aid later this month; and I have an *excellent* reference, which you may read.

That's all, I think. Please, please, help! I have no idea where to start.
Answer: It's critical to have a good resume, it is worth taking the time to compose something that looks brilliant and does the job correctly. The site in the box below has loads of data on resumes and help with extra vocations.

Question: Work Experience breaking the law? Hello, well today i had my work experience but i don't think im gonna go back tomorrow, i think they have broken the law multiple times!
I am an electricians assistant for a week and im 15.
Well i got there they let me in say hi and then nothing else for 10 Min's then just ell me im going with this guy(NO HEALTH AND SAFETY)
Then i went on a site then some guy showed me how to change light sockets and switches i did a few(upstairs power turned off) Then i had to stand on a ladder by the stairs which i could of fell off of. I had to cut round the lights with a Stanley knife(:O).
I then traveled with another guy to anoter place and hel him install some pwer thing where i had to carry very heavy equipment and then use the saw to cut some wood(i cut my slef a couple of times but nothing big). Arround oneish i had a 10 min brake, for another few hours i just helped bits and pieces(soo boring)
My time was ment to be from 8-4 and they were emnt to drop me off as wee are constantly moving about then i got home just before 6(not 4).
Last of all i was ment to be picked from tuesday-friday as my mum is working and i would have truble gettign there, but when i phoned up they said i had to make my way there in the morining?
Does this very wrong to anyone?
I know its a job and im understanding but for a 15 year old on work expeiriance?
Answer: Yes, they should have been more onto the information regarding health and safety. They had no business asking a 15 year old to work for them, without having proper coverage for you. Most of the ages for working in most area are 16. So unfortunately, I don't know if you would be even covered under the WCB act.
Also, with someone who is just getting work experience, it is not appropriate to put them into situations that are very dangerous, and that injury could happen. They should have gotten you to do duties like getting materials from the truck, or setting up the tools, or whatever like that, but getting you to do things that there was a high risk of injuring yourself, is not ethical nor appropriate.
The other two things that were NOT against the law, and can sometimes be expected when you are in a work situation.
1) Overtime -- this is not against the law. If it takes longer to do the job, that is not their problem. It is your responsibility to make sure that you're able to fill your time in appropriately.
2) Transportation -- is NOT the responsibility of the company to make sure that your transportation is figured out. You're responsible for getting there. There are a lot of ways that you would be able to get into work: either by bus, foot, bicycle, or by asking a friend for a ride. I know that this is just work experience, but they are trying to make the situation as real as possible.
When you get a regular job, they won't pick you up, and they won't care about how you get to work, as long as you get to work on time.
Question: how much compensation can i expect? i went shopping in the town just over a week ago, and was in a shop walking along and there was a rack full of scissors sticking out unproteced,
i never noticed because they were below waist level, and i got stabbed in the leg,as i walked along
my trousers were ruined lots of blood etc
had 1st aid off an assistant
manager said she would remove them straight away
and i took photos next day of my leg i also went the doctors.
health and safety went there 2 days later and they were still on display, they made them remove them as it could of been a childs eye blinded instead of my leg.
my solicitor is now on the case, but he hasnt said how much to expect
any ideas?
Answer: Presumably you will be entitled to any damages you incurred (ie, doctors' visits, new trousers, etc.) and maybe a small amount for your inconvenience. This is not a case that will make you rich.

Question: Anyone can check my grammar, grammatical mistakes and sentence structure please? On Every Thursday I and the TA (teaching assistant) were preparing the children’s creative task. The required equipments I was using were scissors, sharp pencils, glue, coloured sheets of paper and other creative objects and also I supervised and supported to the small groups of children with their creative works.
I did my thought of imagination skills. That was a drawing, colouring, cutting and sticking related to the animals and Rockets of creative tasks. After the creative task I assisted on a practical way by clearing the table and putting away the equipment which was stored in a safe place. At that time, I and that the TA were following the health and safety procedures in the class room setting.
I’ve observed how the class teacher and the TA were working cooperatively with the children during the creative activity. The class teacher stayed with the children who had completed their creative process and listened to the children’s explanation of their tasks.
I will be more confident in working with children taking part in their creative tasks next time.

I created a drawing by coloring, cutting and sticking for my thought of imagination skills . This was related to the animals and rockets of creative tasks, called my thought of imagination skills. After the creative task I assisted on a practical way by clearing the table and putting away the equipment which was stored in a safe place. Question: Do u follow precautions against on-line scams and "botnets"... Have u ever been victimized...? Criminals who seize control of tens of thousands of home and office computers through what are known as "botnets" are a dramatically growing threat, Shawn Henry, deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Cyber Division, tells Newsmax.
A botnet — short for robot network — allows a criminal to seize control of any number of computers by introducing malicious programs like spyware, viruses, worms, or trojan horses into each computer through its Internet connection.
With a single command, the master of the computer network can have each of the slave computers contact a particular computer network, bringing it down because of the sheer demand on its ports. That can cause a company to lose millions of dollars in business. If the target is a police department or hospital, shutting down its computer system can jeopardize public safety or health.

Answer: So far, I have been fortunate to not have become a victim to online scams and botnet scams.I have a philsophy that if its too good to be true it probabely is.I have received my share of "scam " emails but have never acted on any and reported them to authorities.
My best defense is a good anti virus system and logic.

Question: DID YOU SEE Police Officer To Be Charged After Killing Motorist While Racing To Safe Driving Campaign ? STATESBORO, GEORGIA - A father was seriously injured and his son was killed Tuesday when a rental trailer they were towing was rear-ended on Interstate 16 by a police officer who specializes in nabbing aggressive drivers and who was en route to Chatham County to take part in a safe-driving campaign, officials said.
Cpl. Robert Balkcom, an assistant commander of the Georgia State Patrol post in Statesboro, said no charges have been filed yet, but they are likely, against Dougherty County Police Officer Jeremiah Fenn, 25, of Albany.
Officer Fenn was headed to Chatham County to take part in Operation Rolling Thunder, a 90-day effort to curb Savannah’s rising traffic fatality rate with the help of scores of officers from around the state.
Officer Fenn was driving eastbound near Metter when he took his eyes off the road for a second to look at the computer mounted in his car and struck a trailer being towed by an SUV traveling in the same direction and in the same lane, Cpl. Balkcom said.
The video camera in Officer Fenn’s car, which could have recorded the accident, was turned off, Cpl. Balkcom said.
The SUV overturned several times, ejecting Milton Wilcox, 33, of Savannah, a passenger who was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
Mr. Wilcox was pronounced dead at the scene. His father, William Wilcox, 57, of Savannah, the driver, was airlifted to Savannah’s Memorial Health University Medical Center with serious injuries, Cpl. Balkcom said.
A two-mile eastbound stretch of the interstate was closed for about six hours while members of the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the accident, Cpl. Balkcom said.
Witnesses told authorities that Officer Fenn’s police car was “traveling at a high rate of speed,” an issue that will be addressed by the investigation, Cpl. Balkcom said.
“There will more than likely be charges,” he said.
Officer Fenn is a participant in a statewide program known as Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.), a collaborative effort of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and eight local law enforcement agencies to nab aggressive drivers.
Answer: and yet again I state you REALLY have some serious issues with the police don't you dear.
You always seem to be able to hunt out the negative but NEVER the good that they do day in and day out just to keep the streets as safe as they can, you also seem to fail to recognise that in EVERY profession there is good and bad.
This policeman will more than likely be charged and rightly so ONCE the whole story is out in the open, but I fail to see why you feel it is your god given right to "unmask" all the negatives you can possibly troll about the police force.
Question: Liberal 'Evening News' Blames Drug Industry for TB Scare? 'Evening News' Blames Drug Industry for TB Scare
CBS reporter cites lack of vaccine development but excludes industry rebuttal.
The tuberculosis scare led all three major network news broadcasts on May 31. But CBS “Evening News” pointed fingers at one of the network’s favorite targets, the pharmaceutical industry.
Reporter Nancy Cordes compared the lack of vaccinations and treatments of this specific strain of tuberculosis to other “fast-moving infectious diseases,” including SARS, West Nile Virus and Avian Flu.
She followed with the blame game. “Why haven’t more drugs been developed to fight disease with the potential to kill thousands?” asked Cordes, the network’s Transportation and Consumer Safety correspondent.
“Pharmaceutical companies live to make a profit and if antibiotics, for example, because they’re used for usually 7 to 14 days, maybe as long as a month, can’t generate the same kind of profits as a new cholesterol agent or the new Viagra, which a person might take for years,” said Dr. Eric Nuermberger, an assistant professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
The Associated Press reported that only two other patients with this drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis have been treated at National Jewish Hospital since 2000. With only three cases documented in the last seven years, it would be difficult for the pharmaceutical industry have developed vaccination and treatment for this specific strain. That was a point CBS did not make.
The CBS story also neglected to include a response from the pharmaceutical industry about its development of medications for infectious diseases.
However, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PHRMA) points out such products are not that easy to develop. There are various hurdles that must be cleared. PHRMA stated new medicines used to treat these diseases “are the result of medical research and development that can take as long as 15 years and cost nearly $1 billion to bring a new medicine from the laboratory to a pharmacy shelf.”
A Business & Media Institute study found while covering everything from medical “controversies” to breakthroughs, nearly 80 percent of the stories excluded the viewpoint of the pharmaceutical industry, failing to include either a company statement or a company spokesman.
Answer: i would have thought they would blame bush first, then everyone else next
Question: Is this ok for a personal statement? I'm in year 11 and applying for college soon.? Personal Statement – Kadie Bark
My name Is Kadie Bark, I'm 15 years old and I am currently attending The Sheffield Springs Academy. I'm a friendly, kind and patient person, and I am known to be bubbly and sociable, also I find it very easy to get on with people. I have a range of skills including:
Numeracy
Literacy
Computers
My creative instincts
I'm practical
Hard working
Dependable
I'm a quick learner
I'd say that my biggest strength was probably creative writing/writing to describe as this Is the area that I do better In and I enjoy the most.
My punctuality and attendance has generally been good, but over the past six months or so It has improved greatly and I aim to improve It even more.
I have a really good relationship with teachers and pupils. I get along with most pupils in our school and have never had any trouble In the past. I think my teachers would agree that I am a sensible student who at times can get a little distracted, but is dedicated to completing work/tasks.
My favourite subject In school would have to be English, as I enjoy writing, especially creative, and I love to read also. Another subject that I enjoy is Art, as I like learning new techniques and applying what I have learned to a piece of work.
I have been on a few school trips before, the main one being when a small group of pupils went on a trip to France, Normandy. While we were there we looked into the historical aspects of the city by visiting famous landmarks, such as the Bayeux War Cemetery. I have also taken part In school events such as the annual sports day.
While I was participating In work experience, my job title was 'Nursery Assistant', the tasks which I had to fulfil include watching out for the children's safety at all times, making sure they were never bored and always had something productive to do and helping them settle down If they became upset, etc. The skills I gained from this experience are valuable life skills which will come In very handy In the future. I learned how to act around children, what to do In certain situations. For example If a child was misbehaving, they would have to apologise and have a five minute time out before rejoining the other children.
I think my relationship with both the children and staff was great. The staff never had a problem with how I was working and at the end of my work experience they thanked me for doing such a great job. Also the children were sad to see me leave.
I did not actually get invited back to work at the nursery as If I was to have an official staff position there I would need to have some qualifications. And although I enjoyed my work experience, I don't think I will pursue working In a nursery as a career option.
When I am not at school there are a number of different things that I like to do including socialising with friends, going to the Cinemas, going Bowling, Skating, making promotional graphics for websites, talking to friends online, moderating and posting In forums, etc.
I recently had a part time (Saturday) job at a hair salon, sweeping hair up, making tea, washing the customers hair, but I stepped down as I wanted to spend more time on coursework/revision.
My favourite pass time would probably be socializing, and talking to friends as I feel It Is very important to have a healthy social life.
I am also interested In books and reading. My favourite book Is Guitar Girl by Sarra Manning as I like her quick and witty style of writing. I also enjoy books from Meg Cabot as she has a similar style of writing. The books that I read are mainly teen oriented, but I do like to read other books now and again.
In the future I plan on going to college and taking part in a full time English Literature course and English Language course. Other courses I am interested In taking are Photography, Music, I.T and Health and Social Care.
I have not really made any ambitions yet as I am still trying to work out which career path I want to take. But as I said I am interested in writing, so I may explore that further and pursue a career In that area.
My hopes for the future are that I will have figured out what I want to do In life, and I will have passed all of my chosen courses and I will be happily settled In a well paid job.
Answer: Seems pretty good. I wish you would have censored the personal info before posting.
I noticed fulfill seems to be spelled wrong, is the way you have it correct for Canada/UK?
White space also makes things easier to read.
Try to identify some of the longer sentences and make them more bite-sized. People read shorter sentences more thoroughly.
Be more confident in what you say. Try seeing how any sentence with "I think" in it sounds if you remove that phrase.
Do you have to incriminate yourself? I know it's good to be humble, but you really should be tooting your own horn here. Obviously you can't overinflate achievements, but don't call yourself distracted (for example).
Even though I used a parenthetical statement above, don't do it in your submission. It's kind of like saying "ignore the part in parentheses."
Rather than saying that you haven't made a choice yet, I'd just say you are open to several career possibilities if you agree with that.
BTW, everybody wants to pass their classes and be paid well, I don't know if that's worth mentioning.
When you look to the future, don't focus on what you can get, focus on what you hope to contribute.
Question: Worst of the Worst.. What are the worlds worst companies? At the top of my list is the Monsanto corporation. Taking advantage of new patent laws, the Monsanto corporation patented 11,000 seeds which were already an existing part of nature. After that they got to work, creating a law firm of the name of King & Spaulding with the sole intention of sueing anyone and everyone possible. They then started spreading a patented bio-engineered seed into thousands of farms in the US and Canada and successfully sued these farms for unwittingly having the patented plant growing somewhere in their farm. Also Monsanto has been sueing dairy producers for labeling that they DO NOT contain a Monsanto bio-engineered rBGH a known cancer tumor promoter, which is illegal in every industrialized nation except for the united states. Also I have seen Monsantos executives hold jobs such as Deputy Administrator of EPA; EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances; EPA Assistant Administrator - Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation; and Chief of Staff to the EPA Administrator, Deputy Director of Human Food Safety and Consultative Services, New Animal Drug Evaluation Office, Center for Veterinary Medicine in the United States Food and Drug Administration, and the list goes on. Prior to being the Supreme Court Judge who put G.W. in office, Clarence Thomas was Monsanto's lawyer! Monsanto has an obvious agenda of blocking the labeling of genetically engineered food to keep anyone from being able to track the health risks involved.
I would like to hear any information on the worst, most immoral, and corrupt companies out there!?
Also if you know anything about the Monsanto corporation you would like to add or dispute please post it..
Thumbs down to the first comment for being stupid
Answer: they would definitely be #1 :: monsanto also started off as a chemical company that created :agent orange: of which the byproduct dioxin was made :: causing all sorts of health related issues :: monsantos practices scare me down into the depths of my soul =(
Question: How do you feel about Janet Napolitano as Head of Homeland Security? http://www.lewrockwell.com/grigg/grigg-w72.html
During the past decade, while Arpaio has labored to make himself a household name, people have been dying in the custody of his deputies. Lawsuits resulting from the death of inmates at the hands of Arpaio's brown-shirted homeboys have cost the county more than $13 million in legal settlements, and a five-fold increase in insurance premiums. Last September, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care revoked its accreditation of the MCSO jails owing to Arpaio's refusal to provide adequate health care to inmates. The following month, U.S. District Judge Neal Wake (a George W. Bush appointee), ruled that the MCSO detention system violated legal standards of inmate treatment. Both the revocation and Judge Neal's ruling will probably result in additional lawsuits.
In 1996, four years after Arpaio was first elected and while Janet Napolitano served as a Clinton-appointed federal prosecutor in Arizona, a petty drug offender named Scott Norberg was attacked and beaten to death by nearly a dozen county correctional officers. Much of the lethal violence was committed while Norberg was shackled to a torture device called a "restraint chair": Bound and unable to defend himself, Norberg was beaten by the brave men of the MCSO until he died.
Arpaio didn't order the murder of Scott Norberg, but he was deeply involved in the cover-up. "Notes taken the night of the killing were destroyed," writes Phoenix New Times' Michael Lacey. "Critical X-Rays were destroyed. County authorities, under the watchful eye of the sheriff, hid the fact that Norberg's larynx was fractured." What evidence did exist was forwarded to the FBI. The Norberg family's attorney, Michael Manning, provided Napolitano – by way of her assistant US attorneys – with much of the evidence that had been suppressed by the MCSO.
And that's where the case died.
Before the investigation found traction, Napolitano was dismissive of Arpaio's critics, insisting that he ran "a strict jail but a safe one."
The Justice Department's final report, which was issued two years after Napolitano punted on the issue, fleshed out the skeletal term "strict" in interesting ways, noting that excessive and abusive use of force was common and often involved unjustified use of restraint chairs, hog-tying and beating of inmates, and other forms of deadly restraint.
The report likewise scored Arpaio's staffing decisions, which left the jail "below levels needed for safety and human operations." The Justice Department, as former Arizona Republic reporter Tom Zoellner pointed out in Slate, "filed suit and settled with the sheriff the same day" in exchange for promises of various reforms.
Napolitano was at Arpaio's side when the sheriff called a press conference to call the settlement a personal vindication. Napolitano, recall, had been handed clear evidence of murder committed under Arpaio's authority, and a criminal conspiracy led by his office cover up that crime; she simply threw it out and refused to prosecute.

Answer: I'm with Dr. Paul on this one. Bring the troops home from policing the rest of the world and put them on our borders.
As for Arpaio, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I know little about Napolitano and much more than I wish I knew about the dereliction of the Federal government to provide security in what is, with little doubt, the most violent and persistent threat to our general welfare and safety.
The insanity of borrowing a trillion dollars from China to invade Iraq - who was not a danger - while turning a blind eye to the rampaging gangs from a nation considered too dangerous to visit? There's only one explanation: our government sold us out.
A heinous act occurred under Arpaio's watch and he may or may not have been instrumental in the cover-up. But there was a cover-up, and he is ultimately responsible.
Bottom line, though, is that none of this would have happened if our servants in government had done the obvious and sealed the border when reports of rampant crime reached code-red twenty years ago.
But why did they fail to do so even after 9/11 and the admonition and advice of numerous experts that the first place an enemy would try to enter in large numbers is at our borders? Bush turned a deaf ear just as Clinton had. Just as Bush Sr. had.
I want our Constitution upheld. But that means ALL of it. No picking and choosing.
I'm sure I won't like Napolitano any more than Johnny Boy Sutton (not head of H.S. but U.S. Attorney) who refused to rest until he'd gotten Ramos and Compean - two loyal U.S. Citizens who, in self-defense, shot a known drug dealer in the butt - locked away.
The drug dealer admitted after the trial to having a gun and his mom insisted he'd never go on a run unarmed and that he'd been doing this since he was 14.
This is why Ron Paul wants to stop policing the world and bring our troops home to the border. We who live in these 4 border states are taking it upside the chin for no reason. Our unalienable right to life is threatened on a daily basis.
Again, I'm not rooting for any part of Homeland Security. But that border needs to be sealed and now. Parallel tilt-walls would cost a fraction what a four-lane country road would and tunnels can be detected by ground-penetrating radar.
For less than 0.5% what Iraq, alone, has cost, we could make the incessant, unspeakable acts of both the brazen trespassers - and any who've gone overboard in their efforts to do the federal government's job - go away.

Question: Now what is wrong with my resume? I have recently revised it. And I am still not getting any calls for an interview. I cannot put it in the correct format here, but I can tell you that is is formatted correctly with things in bold and bullets, the whole 9 yards. Obviously I have removed the identifying information. Please give me any suggestion to make it better. Serious answers only please.

Answer: You have experience and that's great. First, understand that the economy is in a bad state right now, and lots of people are not getting responses. There are many people, but fewer jobs also. But, from my perspective, I think you should make sure it's a one page resume. Also, use the proper grammatical format and make sure that you use professional wording. Don't go back past 10 years on your resume (this protects you from age discrimination). And don't be repetitive in your use of your words. And, there was a book out called "Resumes that Knock em dead". Check for it at your local library. It is excellent. Jobstar.org has great resume templates. I hope this helps.
Question: Dropping a Ticket? Oregon or elsewhere...? Oregon Ticket Question
If the county doesn't fulfill one of the requirements of the law's stated response to a moving violation, is that reason enough to get a ticket dropped?
I was driving southbound down a hwy here in Oregon with a resident from the mental health facility I work at. There was a big box truck in the turn lane going with me, and a line of cars heading northbound. As I got past the truck, I realized there was a stopped school bus (which is why there was a line of cars heading north bound). I slammed on the brakes, but when I realized I wouldn't get stopped in time, I made sure no kids were in the street and kept going so I wouldn't create an artificial line for cars behind me to stop that was past the school bus (thus endangering children for a longer period of time).
That was my thinking at that moment. I wasn't in a hurry to get where I was going, I get paid by the hour and I enjoy the one on one conversation that drive-time gives me with the residents. I love kids, and would never want to drive in such a way that endangers them. With that said:
There was an officer right behind the bus that pulled me over; he admitted that he saw me try to stop, and that I was being extremely cooperative with him...then gave me a $480 ticket. I don't necessarily blame him, that is a lot of revenue for the county and he doesn't know my motives, etc. However, obviously I dont want to pay the fine.
Under ORS 811.159:
Upon receipt of a report containing the information required by ORS 811.157 (Report by driver of violation of ORS 811.155) (2), the law enforcement agency shall determine the name and address of the registered owner of the vehicle and shall send the registered owner a letter informing the owner that the vehicle was observed violating ORS 811.155 (Failure to stop for bus safety lights).
They never sent my facility a letter stating anything. Is this enough to get the ticket dropped? Do I need our HR assistant to come testify that we never received such a letter? I HATE getting out on technicalities, but if it will save me $480 right before my wedding and first year of grad school...
Answer: According to what you have said NO.
1) I assume the vehicle you were driving was your vehicle?
2) The wording above states "THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY SHALL DETERMINE THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE REGISTERED OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND SHALL SEND THE REGISTERED OWNER A LETTER "
3) Obviously that was done at the scene when you got the citation. for ORS 811.155 FTSFBSL.
