Answer: If you only do internet browsing and use a bit of office applications, then your configuration is enough. But if you have the money go for a better processor like core duo. It is not as good as core2duo but will get the work done for a lesser price. 250GB is enough for normal usage.
Question: Is this a good laptop for a student? I'm just going to be doing microsoft work, light internet browsing..facebook and email...light photoshop..

Does this seem like a good choice for me?
Answer: Yes, it sounds good. This appears to be an HP, Media Edition. You're getting plenty of RAM and hard disk space as well as 64 bit Windows 7. Since it's a 15.6" screen it will be a little heavier than the 14". You should be able to pick this up for about $600 which is pretty good for what you are getting. Good choice. Good Luck at School.

Answer: The first one is probably your best choice. Even though Celeron is not my favorite. You have better Internet Speeds there. You're hard drive is bigger, and faster. Celeron is not the best though. And you have less ram.
I would go with The second computer if you are going to game or do massive entertainment.
If you are going to just use it regularly and need to store more information. Go with the first one.
Question: which laptop is better for gaming? I wanted a good laptop for everthing but mostly games. I wanna play a game called champions online. it has better graphics then WoW so i want to know if one of these 2 would be better to buy.

Now I have NO IDEA as to what that stuff means. All I want to do is be able to use word, use the internet, play music, and draw stuff in paint. These are the things I need to be able to do, can I do it on this computer? Playing sims 2 is not nessicary but really prefered. Please help I don't have any idea as to what I am doing.
Answer: Noooo. At least, it shouldn't. If it plays at all it will play slowly, and with graphical errors.
Your netbook is designed to be crazy portable. It lacks the power to render something as complicated as The Sims 2.
While there's no social game of high caliber that will run on a netbook, many casual games will still run on your netbook: diner dash, neopets, etc. My favorite play-on-anything games are World of Goo and Auditorium, both with free (and spyware-free!) demos that I've linked below. Happy gaming!

OKAY SO THERE BOTH 450 DOLLERS, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BUY.
Answer: I would say toshiba. While the gateway has more preinstalled software, more usb ports, and slightly better graphics, toshiba is one of the most reliable laptops out there. I have had a horrible experience with an old gateway desktop, so I may be slightly biased, but toshiba is such a better brand. Plus, the toshiba also has the ability to add up to 8 gb of ram, if you feel brave enough to work with laptop guts.

again with the same graphics card on the first choice
say how fast it will run on COD4 and Crysis Warhead
Thankyou
Answer: Avoid the 2nd configuration. Pentium? That's like from the ice age.
The X3 would do well as both the games are not really heavy on the processor.
As for COD4, You'll get around 30 fps at highest detail levels without AA. But be prepared for the occasional graphics lag spike. fps will drop to the low teens if any smoke is around, although only briefly.
The card runs Crysis on a mid/low combination of settings at that resolution at around 30 fps, so I'd expect it to do worse with warhead.
If possible, drop 1GB of ram and the card reader which will give you a few $$ more for a better graphics card.
Question: What is the highest Graphics Card my PC may use? I posted a similar question like this a few hours ago and I received two logical answers, but I noticed that the graphics cards they showed to me did not fit the design of the slots within the casing of the computer, nor were they compatible completely. Thus, this time, I will post the specifics of the computer as well as the link from before (Showing my computer specs). I now know I can install another graphics card even though the one I already have is integrated, so now I need to know what the highest graphics card my system will allow me to use. I'm specifically searching for a video card that supports pixel shader 2.0 or above (I have no idea whether or not one of these cards supports it, so if you could tell me what to look for, that would be nice as well)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
System Model: Dimension 2400
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
Memory 1022MB RAM (DDR SDRAM)
Expansion Bus: PCI: 33MHz, 120 pins, with maximum data width of 32-bits
64 MB of system memory may be allocated to support graphics
DC power supply: 200-250W
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_en/specs.htm
The link below is the graphics card I found that holds many of the qualifications, but i'm afraid it may not coincide well with my computer. If any of you have other suggestions, please post them. Thank you for your time and patience.

This video card has the same design as the slot of my computer, so that's one of the key things i'm looking for, unless it doesn't matter what the design is, then i'm mistaken. Please tell me if i'm wrong.
Answer: I'm sorry. Your PC doesn't support the latest graphics cards. You may have a chance of finding a really old card but it is tough. This is because your PC doesnt have a x16 slot that most Graphics Cards today use. I have this computer so i would know. Those cards could work but i wouldn't like to get your hopes up.
Question: Will I be able to run Company of Heroes on full graphics? The computer im going to buy has these specs:

Thats all my infomartion regarding displays.
SO THE ACTUAL QUESTION... Should i try to get a better graphics card, or more ram? If Graphics card, which one? or is there a way to optimize the way these programs run on my memory.
Thanks in advance.
Answer: Not only do you have a Mac (which by definition really cannot be upgraded), but you have an iMac (which definitely cannot be upgraded, except for the RAM). You could upgrade the RAM which might help a little bit with video editing but won't really increase performance all that much.

Answer: The faster your processor and the more up to date your graphics card is helps. To play you need the minimums on the box if your computer has a faster processor and a better graphics card(Nvidia or ATI Radeon) makes the game smoother and better.
Question: Medion P4011D Akoya All-in-one PC? I am thinking of getting a Medion P4011D Akoya for christmas and I just wanted to know a few things.
1) Is the whole deal actually good?
2) Would Sims 3 play on it?
3) Would you reccommend something else?
4) Is there any other all-in-one PC's that have:
-Wifi
-Intergrated webcam & microphone
-Wireless keyboard & mouse
-Built in freeview & tv tuner
So basically, I love the idea of an all-in-one PC but I want to know if I am wasting my money? (Well my parents money). I love the idea of touch screen and the whole sleek design but I want to be able to play the sims 3 on it (and maybe COD) ;] I think I wont be able to on this model but my budget is probably around £750. I basically want to know if the touch screen is just a phase I am going through in which I will get bored of in a few months and a basic gaming PC would be better. I am ALWAYS using the webcam and msn messenger so I want smooth video calls.
I hope you can help! :)
This is the link for the all in one PC I like:

If you can't see it, here is a product overview:
The Medion Akoya P4011D has won 5 out of 5 & a BUY IT! Award from Britain's biggest computer magazine - ComputerActive who described it as an impressive, good value touch screen family computer
The Medion All in One features an Intel Pentium processor with 4GB of memory and an enormous 1TB of storage space on its hard drive, delivering outstanding PC performance. However ,the Medion All in One is not only a fast and powerful computer, it's also a stylish full High Definition TV, with 1080p resolution & built-in digital TV Tuner. Everything you need, in fact, to make it your entertainment centre.
To accompany its good looks, the keyboard and mouse are wireless, and the large 21.5"" screen is multi-touch enabled. There's also a built-in webcam, microphone and speakers. Connection to other sources is easy - there are seven 2.0 USB ports, a DVD reader/rewriter, while the card reader is compatible with SD, MMC, MS & MS Pro cards.
You wouldn’t expect anything less from PC Advisor’s 'Best Desktop PC Brand' 2010 as voted by the readers of PC Advisor magazine.

Remote control, wireless keyboard, wireless optical mouse, external mains adapter. Windows, recovery DVD, Works CD and support DVD.

Answer: The Sims 3 would play poorly and COD games not at all, because that computer has an extremely low-end graphics adapter (GeForce 9100). For Nvidia's GeForce 6xxx-9xxx cards, it's the last 3 digits that really matter, not the first one (which is just the series number).
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gts-450-radeon-hd-4850-gpu,2732-7.html
This is why all-in-ones are poor choices for gaming. They usually are built with weak graphics cards, and because they're all-in-one designs, whatever they come with cannot be upgraded.
If you're interested in gaming, get a standard desktop. Not a slimline, not an all-in-one, a regular tower. That way you're able to upgrade any components your games may require.
If you're interested in playing any games, you don't want anything below a Radeon 4650 or GeForce GT220.

Answer: it just might be able to do that but for best experience i would recomend you to get a good discrete graphics card.....
Question: Inspiron 530 Power supply change and graphics card, please help? Hi, I have a normal sized Dell Inspiron 530 and I wanted to get a better graphics card for it (currently running an ATI Radeon HD 3400 series with 256MB mem) - i have to always lower the details of my games to play them. I was thinking of changing to an Nvidia 9800GT or something like that, nothing too expensive, maybe a ATI 4500+ series, i know that game detail would probably set around middle (better than a low) but i'm not really casual gamer anyway.
But for me to do that, my power supply needs to be changed as it can only give me 350W max (which is too low for the graphic cards i mentioned above), i need about 450W minimum. And i found this Gigabyte Superb 550W with a 120mm fan, cost on $66. And it seems to have similar dimensions to my current LiteOn PS-6351-2 (but not entirely sure lol). However, i heard that Dell PC's have some sort of weird design (that the motherboard would be in the right side instead of left or something)...so most PSU's won't fit in...WTF...can anyone confirm this? i'm currently browsing Umart.com.au for the PSU parts and the graphic cards...would anyone recommend anything?
Otherwise I'll just get a graphic card that supports my current power (350W sad lol) power..any recommendations on that? lol
Answer: Disregard the misinformation about your 530, it's a normal ATX mini tower system. The Gigabyte Superb 550W will work, the 530 uses a standard ATX12V power supply. By design, the height and width dimensions will remain pretty much the same for all ATX power supplies, only the length will change depending on the output wattage. In this case, the Gigabyte 550 is the same size as the Lite On, possibly due to the fact that it should actually be classified as a 400W power supply since it only produces 30A on the 12V rails (360W / 12V = 30A), which is on par with most 400W psu's.
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/PowerSupply/Products_Spec.aspx?ClassValue=Power+Supply&ProductID=2795&ProductName=Superb 550
http://cgi.ebay.com/300W-ATX-Power-Supply-LiteOn-PS-6351-2-0FU913-New-/150402724212
I would recommend this psu, it has 33A on the 12V rail, which is what powers a graphics card, and can easily handle a 9800GT or up to a Radeon HD 4850, both draw up to 105W~110W.

About a year and a half ago I upgraded my daily use system, a Dell Inspiron 530, to a Corsair 400W psu and a 9600GT.
Here's videos that show how to upgrade the psu and graphics card in a 530.

Question: why are people so prejudiced against Nintendo? almost every kid in my whole entire school took a **** on the Wii and went for an Xbox 360 instead, when i asked why, they said it was because the Wii has bad graphics. when will people realize that graphics don't matter in a video game? and the Wii IS capable of good graphics, i mean look at Silent Hill Shattered Memories, the graphics are amazing! but video games having texture and very good graphics isn't enough, they need every single ******* detail, if there is a scratch on the wall, they need to be able to see it, if there is no scratch on the wall, its a shitty game. what the ****. why do people think like that? why do people think that if a game has good graphics, it will automatically be a great game? looking back at the days of the NES, you can really see that the graphics are nothing special.....and yet......the system was still a masterpiece. actually, masterpiece is an understatement. the NES saved the video game industry. when the video game crash of 1983 happened, who saved the video game industry? Nintendo. i don't claim to know anything. i'm not gonna say Xbox 360 is a bad system, im not gonna say "**** YOU MICROSOFT!" like those troopers i saw on youtube blowing up an Xbox 360. i respect Microsoft. i really do. i respect Sony too. back to the graphics problem. while you can't deny that Wii doesn't have HD, graphics are alright enough in SD anyways, so who cares? the reason why most Wii games have less than SD graphics........(believe it or not).......is because 3rd party companies don't even try anymore. ever heard of Data Design Interactive? its a company infamous for creating a variety of bad games, such as the Ninjabread Man series. first there was Ninjabread Man, which took one or two weeks to make.....and guess what, it sucked. sucks in every way. Now there making Ninjabread Man 2, which surprisingly, did NOT take only one or two weeks to make. but whether or not it takes weeks to make, it doesn't matter. Ninjabread Man 2 will suck.....just like number 1. and so....why are people so prejudiced against the Wii anyways? its not Nintendo's fault that 3rd party companies don't even try anymore, so why blame it all on Nintendo? i love Nintendo. but how come everyone else is so prejudiced on it, while im not? don't just give me a rude and straight forward answer, like "ur uh faeg f u leik Nintndoh" or "suk my kok, u gey nintndoh fan boi! Xbox 4 da wen!"
give me an answer, and detail supporting it, ok?
Bon-gart, i never meant for this to be a rant and violation of guidelines, i just wanted to know why so many people dislike Nintendo, while i still like Nintendo.
Answer: First, this is a rant and a violation of the community guidelines.
Second... ever hear of a little thing called Grammar? It involves things like paragraphs, punctuation, capitalization, spelling... little details that mean the difference between people taking you seriously, and people thinking you are 11 years old and wanting to seem like a big shot.
Third... The Nintendo Wii is being marketed as a platform for ALL ages... young and old alike. It is being marketed as an entertainment package and a fitness machine. So, there are going to be titles that appeal to really young kids, and older people who have no desire to play any of the Silent Hill franchise. Are some of those games going to be stupid? Absolutely. Why? Because so many people who were never considered "gamers" now have a Wii. So, they are not going to be as savvy when it comes to Buying games... and there are going to be companies that wish to take advantage of that.
The XBox 360 is a replacement for the XBox... and they were both created to compete with the PlayStation series... to give Microsoft an "IN" into console gaming. The XBox appeals to the hard core gamer, because there are hard core games made for it. You are given a complex controller that with time and practice provides expansive control over the games you can play on the unit... as compared to the simplistic controller of the Wii. Let's face it. The XBox is not designed for everyone, and it never will be.
What you have to understand my little friend, is that these kids who are dissin the Wii and praisin the XBox to the high heavens are all expressing elements of the Bully mentality. It makes them feel like Big People to put others down. They have no self esteem, so they need to attempt to lower others in order to make themselves feel better. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the Wii, or Nintendo.
It is far easier to destroy, than it is to create. If they think the Wii sucks so bad, fine. Let them create a better console that is accepted by a wider audience.
end of line
Question: I'm very unsure - what career and school courses should I take up? (warning: lots and lots of detail ahead)
I transferred to this new school for Grade 11. Partly because I felt my last high school wasn't really encouraging, I've never thought much about career-related stuff during my first two high school years. Now that I'm in a greatly funded and supported school, I've been stressing out about what I want to do for the future. I was given the course choices right after I registered a few days before school started, but I made very bad decisions since, again, I didn't know what I wanted to take. Now I have to go to classes that I don't really want to for a whole semester, and many classes that I want to switch to are at full capacity next semester.
I think that what I'd like to do is become a musician. I took basic music classes in the past and I have some experience with playing the clarinet, but at this point I think it might not work out well because I don't own any instruments and I'd have to take prerequisite courses, which I don't have a lot of time or room for in my timetables before I graduate.
I also thought of visual arts or graphics design-related work. I know that traditional artists have difficulty making a living out of that, so I probably won't go for that. I'm pretty interested in the latter, but I don't know how much money can be made out of that. Also, having to take the prerequisites for the related courses and stuff would make very little room for other ones...
I think it's possible to change directions and go for medicine-oriented work. I know what courses must be taken, but to be honest, I'm not very interested in that field anyways. I only considered it because I think that you can be easily successful if you do pretty well in school.
Another thing I wonder is this: how do other people already decide early in their lives to do something with law, biology, carpentry or a bunch of other "professional" careers? It seems like I only want to do artsy kind of stuff, but it's like everyone would want to do that anyways. I do think I have artistic ability, however. Something else I think about is that doctors, accountants and all of them benefit society, while arts and sports stuff do not, really (but I know athletes can make a lot of money).
I'm pretty unsure on whether I should go for something that would make me lots of money or something that I'd always have fun or feel good doing, and I can't find the balance in-between. No one in my family has attended university and I could easily be the first one, but I need to find out what I want to do. My parents want me to be some kind of doctor or engineer... that's alright, but again, I don't know.
I talk with the guidance counsellor every week and he tries to help me decide, but it kind of sucks going there just to talk about what I think I want to do and changing my mind a lot. I want to make a definite decision.
I realized I would type something pretty long, but to those who bared with me - thanks! I really appreciate anyone who tries to help!
Answer: well if you want money, you'd prolly have a a hard time being an artist of any sort. and i dont advise you try being a doctor. if you arent interested in it, you'd prolly just get screwed over. like seriously. its so hard and you need a lot of determination for it. you didnt mention any interest in the sciences really so i dont know how capable you are when it comes to chemistry, math, or biology.
its not as easy as "oh i want to be this" you need to be really focus and make sure that you can handle the work. i mean, im not saying you need to be genius in chem or bio or calc, coz you dont, im just saying if you dont enjoy those course, or arent that interested in it, you probably shouldnt do the sciences.
you should do something where you would have tons of fun in. you just need to get into college and there you can pick whatever major you want. but i would be cautious of being like a musician. like most universities would want you to be already amazing in playing an instrument.
do graphic's design or visual arts. you can do a lot with that actually. not just paint and shit.

How well will these together with the graphics card slotted in run COD4 on high and Crysis on low?
Thankyou
I am not a seroius gamer, and therefor dont want an amazing computer or graphics card
Answer: Hi, I read your other question and somehow I couldn't answer it. Here is the answer which will answer the above question as well.
Hi, first let me ask you, Don't you want to assemble your own PC? Because its so much cheaper than this company assembled ones. Anyway its your choice. I look into all the products you mentioned and I believe that if I were to buy between the two I choose the first one "GRADE A2 Acer Aspire M5201 X4 4GB 640GB BD VHP " because if I'm not mistaken you are gonna change the GPU anyway, right? so its better that the motherboard supports ATI crossfire which means it has got two or more PCI-E and PCI slots. Besides you get double the RAM and HDD for this one. So, I choose this one.
Now, for the GPU among the list I was considering the fourth and the fifth one and after weighting the specifications I choose the fifth one that is "Sapphire HD 5450 512MB DDR3 HDMI DVI VGA Out PCI-E Low Profile Graphics card" because it has HDMI output and the other hasn't. For the rest they are both really good. While the other lack something the other one has and vice-versa. So I think its better to have HDMI output since the performance is better than VGA. Of course you would need an HDMI ready Monitor for this, so if you don't have one consider the other one i.e. the sixth one"Sapphire HD 5450 512MB DDR3 With Hypermemory VGA DVI Display Port Out PCI-E Low Profile Graphics Card". As for the rest of the GPU don't waste time because they won't perform better than this two except the first one i.e. "Inno3D G210 512MB SDDR3 DVI VGA HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card". With this one its Nvidia Physix Ready but you would have to put Physix card to enable it. And I say it doesn't really matter. Remember that DDR3 is better than DDR2, even if its 1GB DDR2 vs 512MB DDR3.
Now, the above GPU's are from what you mentioned in your other questions. OK, Sapphire HD 5450 can't handle Crysis warhead (only 11fps at lowest resolution) but Sapphire HD 5670 surely can. So I advice you to consider getting Sapphire HD 5670.
Question: I GOT AN APPLE MAC G4 POWER PC 450 GIGABIT. AND WANT A PROCESSOR UPGRADE. WHAT IS THE FASTEST PROCESSOR IT....? Can handle. i had one ounce that had an 800 MHz power pc. do they go higher to upgrade this mac.

Apple Power Mac G4 The Apple Power Macintosh G4/450 DP (Gigabit Ethernet) features dual 450 MHz PowerPC 7400 (G4) processors each with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and 1 MB of backside cache. It shipped configured with 128 MB of RAM, a 30 GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive, a 5X DVD-ROM drive, and a 2X AGP ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card with 16 MB of SDRAM. AirPort (802.11b) was available by custom configuration.
In addition to the onboard 10/100/1000Base-T (Gigabit) Ethernet port for which they are named, the Power Macintosh G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) models introduced the convenient, but subsequently maligned, ADC (Apple Display Connector), which carries analog and digital video signals, USB data, and power in the same cable. It also shipped with a new Apple "Pro" keyboard and mouse.
All Power Macintosh G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) models use a case design effectively the same as that introduced with the Power Macintosh G3 (Blue & White) -- complete with a fold down door on the side that makes upgrading very easy -- but is clad in a more conservative "graphite" and white color scheme. Custom configurations also were available.

Answer: Those parts will all work together, yes, but the 9400GT isn't a gamer card. The 9400GT is a low-budget card with a very weak GPU-- Just 16 stream processors.
If you want reasonable game graphics performance, you need at least a 9800GT, which has 112 stream processors.

You must have a long x16 slot for a graphics card.

Question: Need some advice- Buying a laptop to "game"? I am a retired Wow player and am thinking of going back. I also am a HUGE SIMS 3 FAN! :)
I'm buying a new laptop and have quite a budget. I really need the cheapest and best for my money. I found this computer on Best Buy's website and it seems to be perfect for me. I now need some advice from some fellow gamers. Could this run the Sims? What about Wow? I'm not wanting an alienware, I realize I get what I pay for but, I would like for it to run it on default. Thanks guys!

* 750GB SATA Hard Drive; 16X DVD±R/RW SuperMulti Drive
* NVIDIA GeForce 7050 Integrated Graphics
* Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I am not a game person, I just need this computer to study Web Design. I am not a techy so detail explanation would be very helpful. Thanks.
Answer: They will both work but I think you should spent a bit more on adding/changing the following if CS5 is your main work area
Change the processor to a Quad-Core (CS5 will make good use)
4GB memory BUT ability to add 4GB more (again CS5 and above will make good use)
Make sure you get Windows 7 - 64bit
Hard drive is optional, most newer hard drive would work well.
If you can, just get one with QuadCore and 8GB, you will be smart to do so, as CS5 already cost a small fortune as is, adding a few hundred more dollars is a small price to pay for something thats going to save you time.

Answer: Nice computer but what I meant was, on the back of the dvr, look for line one output. See what cables you need, they probably are rca cables (red, white and yellow)
Second, you need to know what the cpu would use to connect to the tv and I haven't seen rca cables used. That would be too easy.
Here's a site that will help getting the right cables and setting it up, it's mainly for tvs but remember your looking for a cable that connects the cpu to the dvr. They might even make a cable with rca on one end and whatever you need on the other end
Good luck http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-connect-your-laptoppccomputer-to-your-tv/

Answer: Of the two, the Toshiba has the fast processor AND the superior graphics card. The P7350 processor and P8400 in the Toshiba were both released at the same time Intel launched the Centrino 2 platform several months ago. They have a 1066MHz FSB and 3mb of L2 cache memory, but the P8400 has a clock rate of 2.26GHz vs. 2.0GHz for the P7350.
The HP's nVIDIA 9200M GS is hardly worth the $100 extra (when configuring it at HP.com) and the 256mb ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3470 outperforms it by a large margin. On the 3DMark06 benchmark test, the 9200M GS scored 1623, well below the HD 3470's score of 1932. The nVIDIA 9300M GS (used in HP's dv3500t) scored 1958 on 3DMark06, making it nearly identical to the 3470.
There is another laptop that has the same processor, graphics card and RAM as the Toshiba and offers some unique features- such as a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and standard LED display. It also has a 2-year warranty and costs less than either of these-

Answer: SATA drives do not have master/slave settings as only one HDD connects to a cable. It sounds to me like you have a signal integrity issue. Buy a shorter, higher quality SATA cable.

If you've had a problem with any hp or dell laptop please let me know. I honestly think that a dell is better and that its "life" will last longer. Any info is helpful. Thank you!
Answer: Both of these laptops will do what you want. These are both consumer-grade laptops, so they will both have about the same lifespan. About the only difference that might matter is that the battery on the Dell looks like it might last longer, but these ratings aren't really apples-to-apples type comparisons (companies do their own testing and may do different tasks to determine average battery life).
Question: So there's this 7" laptop for 80 bucks. Am I getting a good deal? Here's the details o the laptop. I'm just gonna copy and paste. . .
The Windows CE include the following frequently used functions: Web Browsing(Internet Explorer), Wireless internet access and Cable internet, Calculator, PDF Reader, Games, PhotoView, Office, TCPMP Video Player(3GP/MP4/MP3), Media Player(WMA), Winrar software, Recorder.
You can view the link http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html to get the Flash Player 7, but it maybe not fluent at online video display.
Please download and install the format of ".cab" which is compatible with the operating system.
The MiniBook is highly portable & compact in its design, with good performance, adaptability and robustness. The MiniBook optimised Windows CE based operating system gives a user friendly interface and ensures optimum performance with the minimum of system resources.

Answer: Windows CE and the VIA processor are components usually used in old-school PDAs, not laptops. So the fact that a laptop is trying to run off these parts is troubling.
Basically you will be buying a large, expensive, and outdated PDA. I say stay far far away from purchasing this.
Question: What is so good about the Wii? i had used to like the Wii, but then i noticed that the number of red-faced and disappointed Wii Customers are growing AND FAST. They gave their reasons, and it has logic behind them,
First of all, the games are BAAAAAD! No1 in the 21st centuary cares about the interactivity when the most important things are gameplay, storylines, and graphics (i'll get to this one later). The Wii games do not have the potential of the big bucks because of the lack of such crieterias. The best game is BRAWL and that is not good enough to match the majority of the 3rd party games that of which didn't make it to the wii (like Assassin's Creed). You cannot prove the Wii's "superiority" if you list some ho-hum titles. None of the Wii games have been ranked as bestseller!
Second is that fimsy controller. So what if it can move around and the system reacts? the PS3 came out days before the Wii, and it already has that plus the awesome never-changing PS controller design. I mean, COME ON, A REMOTE??? DO YOU WANT TO BREAK YOUR TV??? and FYI the strap is of little help to the problem.
Third, the graphics. i cannot believe i have to explain this, so ill put it in short! The detailing is beyond poor, a magor reason alot of 3rdPARTY games cannot go to the Wii. Even worse, it has no graphics-embedded RAM!!!
Fourth, the pathetic space. it is not even a HDD, and it has only 512MG!!! at least Nintendo puts 2GBs. I fail to see how you can save a game like Brawl. games nowadays require at least 700MG for a SaveData. And then Put 20GB at least to put some pther stuff from USB or the dowload channel, if it ever can!
Fifth, horrible "wifi" connection. Why is it called Wifi if it also sells exclusive adapters? and even through that, IT SUCKS HANDS DOWN!
SOCOM Confrontation, KillZone 2, and GTA4 can all support several players without lag. And brawl... 4 players with DEFINITE lag! Also, the channels are pointless. WHY DO I NEED SOMETHING THAT A BROWSER ALREADY HAS, IN SEPERATE PACKAGES????
Sixth, the playbacks. The PS3 uses Blu-ray (the current tops), the X360 uses DVD9 (not decent, but not bad either), and all Wii had is CD. WOW! NO MOVIE PLAYBACK???? and also, what are the USB ports doing there when they have no use??
so my question is, what does the Wii have left that would be beneficial to anybody?
please no Wii Fanboys. I need a REAL ANSWER! I don't need biased information.
i am not a 4-year-old. i am 15. and even ENDLESS OCEAN is a game to ignore
if anybody agrees with me, then thank you, but i want the question properly answered
on wifi, i meant online gameplay
on Bluray, the games need it for reasons other than just graphics
Answer: most of the games are easy to learn. Most of the games are multiplayer games where everyone has the same chance of winning no matter how much experience they have (I hate the new mariokart with a passion for that reason. There's no motivation to play it 1 player once you unlock all the stages).
For people that touch the system once a month or so, it's nice for them to be able to be able to play the game or two that they own.
The 360 and PS3 has games that are that easy to learn, but look at the wii, it comes with a bunch of minigames in wii sports that you can play for 1 hour once a month and enjoy yourself.
Basically... It's great for people that never play videogames.

Answer: It the AMD current entry level processor, the AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core is equal to the Intel Pentium-dual core, these processor is not designed for gaming or other heavy jobs, they are mostly likely to be in basic PC for only personal use. The processor is like Intel Pentium 4, it increased one core to make it a dual core, means it slowest dual core processor, so it not a good processor for games and other heavy jobs, other basic stuffs is good with it.
Question: Quick System Spec Question? I am looking to buy some new software and have been on the website to look at the minimum requirements. The software is big and complex as it's used for graphic design. If someone with a little more IT know how than myself could tell me if they feel it will run comfortably that would be fantastic. I've been on the software's website and the minimum spec is listed below:
Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional
space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
I bought my new laptop last year and it cost me around £700 so I'm hoping that it will run comfortably. The laptop is a Dell Xpsm1530 and the specifications of it are listed below:
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium - English
Intelcore 2 due processor T8100 (2.10ghz, 800mhz FSB, 3mb L2 Cache)
2gb of RAM
250gb Sata Hard drive
Nvida GeForce Go 8400 GS with 128mb dedicated graphics memory.
I know this is a lot to take in. But i just need a comparison between the minimum spec and my laptops spec. I have very little computer knowledge so am unsure and don't want to spend £200 on software for it not to work. Just a simple "Yes it will run smoothly" Or "No it won't" would be great although more detailed answers would be fantastic.
Thank you so much in advance.
Answer: Hello there!
I cannot consider myself a guru in hardware but strictly speaking about your program's "minimum requirements" and your laptop's specs, I'd say the software would run fine, with a slight delay in managing files due to laptop's hard drives being slower than their desktop's counterparts.
Since you didn't mention the name of the software I'm using Photoshop as an example for the sake of comparison.
Processor requirements: Your computer surpasses those easily, being a Core2Duo and also being about 3 years ahead of the minimum requirements' processor.
RAM: Your's is fine, with 2Gb
HD: This could be considered the drawback of using this software on a laptop, as transfer rates are commonly slower than if compared to desktop PCs. Still, your laptop is almost certainly capable of running the software without problems.
Graphics card: Your laptop is likely to have a graphics card that is at least 2 years ahead of the minimum requirements so again you should be just fine; the softwarre should run trouble-free. Some graphic cards also "share" a bit of the system's RAM to boost their own capabilities.
Operating System: I particularly don't like Vista Home editions (none of them) but your software is surely going to run fine.
Hope the above helps...
P.S.: One thing to consider, is that your machine could have cost you well over GBP 1,000.00 and have top specs - depending on how much your Hard Disk is used and applications already installed, the software could run below your expectations or not even run.

lemme knw guys! i'm counting on all of u...
THNX!
Answer: Not bad umm, I have the 9300 :D Go with the 9400 if you want to make it cheaper, really dont matter that much, both can overclock you will never use that much.
Heres the motherboard I'm looking at, supports 2000MHZ
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4319059&CatId=1533
motherboard, supports DDR3 and 775 Socket :D So its future supporting w00t. But it doesn't support i7 processor, so if you want something that does buy another kind.. Even though I hate i7 AHHH.. But i7 is meant to help DDR3 RAM run cooler.. Gl..
Question: Is this a good laptop? I'll mainly use it for gaming... Also, the graphics card isn't right, it's a Nvidia G102 I think.

Oh yeah, parents are divorced, so I don't want a Pc, I want a laptop so I can take it back and forth.
And Mom is paying for it, so she's not going to go much over 700...
Answer: Looks OK for the price, if you want something for gaming though I'd go for a PC as they're generally better suited.
Question: java script question roll over images?
A noticeable graphics boost.
With a new integrated graphics processor, MacBook Air changes the game and just about everything you do with it. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M provides up to an amazing 4x performance boost over the original MacBook Air. Photos appear in iPhoto quickly. Transitions in Keynote are seamless. Games play more smoothly. And movie and video playback is better than ever before. No other ultraportable offers such amazing performance in such a slim design.
Thin is in the details.
The innovative now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t port hatch flips down to reveal (and closes to hide) all the ports you really need: a headphone jack, a USB 2.0 port, and a new Mini DisplayPort that supports DVI, dual-link DVI, and VGA video output. The Mini DisplayPort connects to the new Apple LED Cinema Display, and it supports other displays up to 30 inches.

Question: can i get sims 2 to work on my laptop, if yes, how? (10 points) ok, i emailed customer support and they said it might not work because it isnt designed for laptops, can i get it to work on a laptop?? (im pretty sure mine is a Centrino) my problems are, during sim creation it doesn't show the sim i'm making, and in the house it doesn't show the menu on the bottom of the screen or anything else other than the house and the sims, and it won't play cutscenes, should 512mb of ram be enough for that? also im getting a new graphics card soon...so would the graphics card ATI RADEON HD2600 pro edition work on my laptop? thank you, 10 points to whoever answers all my questions and answers them well, details, because I really need help
Answer: No, save your money because Sims is not designed to be played on a laptop. It is possible but it will cost you alot of cash to upgrade your laptop.

1. what graphics settings will this be able to run crysis on?
2.Will it be able to play games like Starcraft 2, World in conflict, EVE, and Battlefield Bad company 2 on max settings? (not at the same time)
3. any other cases that you would recommend (mainly a question for Jasuchan :))
4.any Problems with this setup as far as you can see?
thanks for all your help Jasuchan and to all the oher people the last few weeks for answering my questions about this :)
Ps all the parts can be found on tigerdirect or newegg (unless stated otherwise (i think one thing comes from amazon) )
i was thinking of this case
Auzentech GMC R-4 Bulldozer Case
http://www.xoxide.com/auzentech-gmc-bulldozer-case.html
You might want to spend more on your video card than you do on your case.
than i need a less expensive case, so i can get a more expensive card...

and this case
http://www.xoxide.com/aspire-x-cruiser-case-silver.html
I AM SERIOUSLY CONSEDERING THESE 2 CASES OVER ALL OTHERS
http://www.xoxide.com/apevia-xcruiser2-silver-case.html
AND
http://www.xoxide.com/auzentech-gmc-bulldozer-case.html
Answer: Hmm.. I've heard good things about the Bulldozer case. But it can only hold one ODD, and it has no external 2.5 bay, so you can't use your media reader. :(
The XCruiser is... well... okay. The build quality isn't the best, but it's not bad. It's still a case that I wouldn't mind using, although I would choose others over it.
So! Answers to your questions...
1. what graphics settings will this be able to run crysis on?

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/24216-asus-radeon-hd-5770-1gb-voltage-tweak-edition-review-12.html
2.Will it be able to play games like Starcraft 2, World in conflict, EVE, and Battlefield Bad company 2 on max settings? (not at the same time)
-SC2, and EVE will have no problem playing at Max settings. World in Conflict will get about 35 fps, and BFBC2 will get about 40 fps at max.
3. any other cases that you would recommend (mainly a question for Jasuchan :))
-Our taste in cases are really different. I like my cases simple and tank-like, with build quality, cable management, and airflow as priorities. XD. While you seem to enjoy more superfluous looks. I'd be hard for me to suggest a case that you would like.
Here are a few budget cases that I feel you might like the looks of. Could be wrong though. ^ ^

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811162055
I do personally think that this case is a great choice. Phenomenal build quality. All black, superior airflow, and a CPU retention hole! That's unheard of on a case in this price range. This is the case that I personally use for every mid range build that I do.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121099&cm_re=hec_compucase-_-11-121-099-_-Product
Just buy a few 120mm LED fans and cold cathodes with the extra cash. ;) Plus, doing a modded case door window isn't hard. Not sure if you're up to it though.
4.any Problems with this setup as far as you can see?
-What happened to the 5850? If you are dropping to the 5750, then bring your PSU's wattage down to about 500W (still a bit overkill, but you won't need any more than that. You could even go for 400W if you're not overclocking or going CrossfireX anytime soon).

On the other hand, the HD5770 may be right up your alley. It's got amazing performance at 1920x1080. If you cut your case price down a bit, you can afford it!!

Question: One Laptop per Child: Sounds cool… Can you tell me what it can do? ? -> What the Program is: <-
http://laptop.org/en/index.shtml
Mission Statement: To create educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. When children have access to this type of tool they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.
-> My Question: <-
Hi! I love the idea of this organization and I would LOVE to spend $200.00 and both get a laptop and give a laptop to someone in the 2nd and 3rd world but I’m wondering if it would be a computer that I could use or if I should give it to someone I know for x-mas.
I’m VERY confused about what the specs are for this system and was wondering if you could help me figure our if the laptop could, say, run QuickBooks and Microsoft Word or if it is just a “Look Stuff Up” sort of “Toy” as apposed to something that I could work with.
I’m NOT complaining… I’m just trying to figure out what it is capable of BEFORE I send the money because I want to know if it would be for ME or if I would give it to a friend or a friend’s child.
If I can’t use the one they will send me, I will donate $100.00 to them just because I am so thrilled with their goals. (And since the new version comes out in 2010, I will donate NOW and buy then perhaps…)
I saw about this organization back a year or two ago on 60 min’s… So I’m happy to see that they are still going strong!!
Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Answer: The laptop uses a modified Linux operating system. It doesn't run windows programs, but has built in software such as word processors and spreadsheet programs. It is useful, and can be charged by turning the hand crank generator. This isn't just some toy for people, it is actually a useful piece of electronics.
Hope this helps
